00:03We have a very different way to talk about motherhood, when motherhood became a nightmare.
00:11This is an examination of a crisis and trauma, like a different aspect, but this is a hard thing to
00:17talk about.
00:18People find it uncomfortable, it is not a typical thing to kind of examine the real challenges of it, like
00:25the real, like the feelings around it.
00:27Isolation, disappointment, you know, failure, like all these things that you can feel in motherhood.
00:33You know, Mary puts it really well, mothers are both revered and dismissed.
00:37You know, they live in these kind of two sort of extremes being a parent.
00:42Everyone who's seen this movie just, I've had so many friends who are mothers and who aren't mothers too, I
00:47will say,
00:48because at this point, Linda is really a caretaker because she's not deriving any joy from her child.
00:53She's just looking after this kid and it's a different experience she's having.
00:58But I've had so many friends who've just said, I feel seen, I feel seen, you know, because you feel
01:04invisible a lot of the time.
01:06What I was trying to express was when a mother is in this type of situation where she cannot fix
01:14it for her child,
01:14the job is hers to fix it, that can be very overwhelming and can start to to feel like trapped
01:22in a nightmare.
01:24And then I think even mothers that have not been in this type of crisis, it can start to build
01:31up and feel very overwhelming.
01:33Thank you very much.
