00:00Let me make one final plea, Mr. President.
00:05Millions have put their trust in you.
00:08And as you told the nation yesterday, you have felt the providential hand of a loving God.
00:18In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are
00:27scared now.
00:30There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and independent families.
00:40Some who fear for their lives.
00:44And the people, the people who pick our crops and clean our office buildings,
00:50who labor in poultry farms and meatpacking plants,
00:53who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals,
00:58they may not be citizens or have the proper documentation.
01:05But the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals.
01:09They pay taxes and are good neighbors.
01:13They are faithful members of our churches and mosques, synagogues, Wadara, and temples.
01:24I ask you to have mercy, Mr. President, on those in our communities
01:28whose children fear that their parents will be taken away
01:31and that you help those who are fleeing war zones and persecution in their own lands
01:37to find compassion and welcome here.
01:42Our God teaches us that we are to be merciful to the stranger.
01:49For we were all once strangers in this land.
01:57May God grant us the strength and courage
02:00to honor the dignity of every human being
02:04to speak the truth to one another in love
02:07and walk humbly with each other and our God
02:11for the good of all people
02:14the good of all people in this nation
02:17and the world.
02:21Amen.
02:22Amen.
02:22Amen.
02:22Amen.
