00:18Here's Darren, this is the guy who like came up with all the choreography
00:21We want to thank Darren for doing the choreography on that
00:24Me and Darren work out all the time on our dancing
00:26and we come up with the steps and everything
00:29It's fun
00:30You made it happen and you made it always look fierce
00:37I was taught to live with passion
00:39and I knew working with Michael Jackson would set me up for choreography success
00:44for the rest of my life
00:46and that's exactly what happened
00:48Then the world got to know Darren's dance grooves, a.k.a
00:52Please welcome Darren Henson

00:58I believe come as you are, you just can't stay as you are
01:01and I believe in growth and you know you can't plant something and expect to eat it at the same
01:07time
01:09I was born to a mulatto mother and an African-American father who wasn't around for very long
01:15But my mother was my rock and what she taught me was that it was very important to always keep
01:19a smile on my face
01:21No matter what
01:22What's been happening in my life is there's been a season of planting and of tilling the ground and watering
01:28it
01:29And now the seed is growing
01:32Growing up I was inspired by James Brown, the Nicholas Brothers, the Jackson 5
01:37There were movies like West Side Story and The Wizard of Oz that taught me how to move
01:44Growing up in the Bronx, the home of hip-hop, taught me how to express myself through dance
01:50You had Africa Bambada and the Zulu nation
01:53The poppers were popping and the breakers were breaking
01:56You had Grandmaster Flash and DJ Scott LaRock
01:59I was this young kid from the Bronx who had no money growing up
02:02Didn't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of
02:05I was always popping, I was always practicing, you know, doing something
02:11And so for me it was about knowing that I could do anything that I wanted to do
02:17And it was happening, it was finally happening
02:19Life is good
02:20I've worked with the biggest artists in the world
02:23Like Michael Jackson, Prince
02:25I started choreographing for the Spice Girls
02:27I did You Drive Me Crazy for Britney Spears
02:30I did Sometimes for Britney Spears
02:32Jordan Knight to give it to you
02:34Enrique Iglesias
02:35Jennifer Lopez, love don't cost a thing
02:38And so a young man with no mentors had showed up yet
02:42Money flowing, women around
02:45It was a cocktail for semi-destruction
02:47But dreams do come true
02:49And dance got me all of that
