00:07There was no question about it. This old boy had about a week before I had to go in and
00:13start getting my treatment. The spirit fell down in this little place.
00:18When I went back, the doctor said, you don't need no treatment, boy, because I can't find any issues. Hey,
00:27there's healing power. Hey, it don't take God all day to do that. Right there, God, the flu.
00:36Broken ribs. I know he healed me.
00:38So do you keep any antivenom around here?
00:40Yeah, his name is G.
00:46What's up, guys? We are live in Squire, West Virginia at the House of the Lord Jesus.
00:51This is a small snake-handling church ran by a local pastor named Chris Wolford. Chris is up there doing
00:57his thing.
01:01We're going to talk to the people and figure out how to keep faith during these trying times. Let's get
01:06into it.
01:06I was 12 years old when I had my brain surgery, and they didn't think I was going to make
01:11it.
01:11And I'm a walking miracle. If there's anything I could do for Brother Chris, I would do it. I'd lay
01:17my life down for them.
01:19What was the brain condition that you had?
01:21Malistic brain tumor. Malignant brain tumor. They thought I was going to die.
01:26What about this church in particular appeals to you?
01:28The healing, the word of God.
01:30When I was five years old, I had a garden hole in my head. I went to doctor, specialist, and
01:34they said I would never get rid of my headaches.
01:37Went and got prayed for, and my headaches has left, and I've never had a headache since.
01:41And when you can come down this road, you can feel something and want you to stop at this church.
01:46How would you describe your faith for somebody who's totally unaware of what's going on?
01:49Well, it's just believing the word, I mean.
01:53It's about Jesus Christ and him crucified. It's about what he did for me and you.
01:59It's about him setting us free, brother. That's what this thing's about.
02:03A lot of them tell me I'm a devil worshiper, that what I do is of the devil.
02:07That's what they tell us we're a court. I said, no, we're not a court, because if I was a
02:11court, everybody would pretty much have to do it.
02:14And I said, and I don't force nobody to do it.
02:16I don't believe you've got to take up a serpent to go to heaven.
02:19I would never preach that to nobody.
02:22But I've got to believe it and do it. I just got to.
02:25I mean, it's the word.
02:26And my brother, he used to say, he said, if it ain't worth dying for, it ain't worth living for.
02:31And that's what he'd say. He said, if it ain't worth dying for.
02:33And I said, you know, and he gave his life for it, which my dad did the same thing.
02:38Do you ever, like, see yourself dying this way?
02:42I mean, I don't want to die that way.
02:43Out of all the ways to die, it's one of the worst.
02:46You lose control of your bodily functions, your bowels, all that just cuts loose on you, plays sick to your
02:54stomach.
02:55And basically, you bleed to death on the inside, internal, and your blood won't clot.
02:59You want me to move that a little further?
03:02No, I just wanted me to go back down for you.
03:04Yeah.
03:06It's for you.
03:07I put him over here. Let me see. I'll put something else on it, too.
03:10I ain't got to. Let me see. I usually got to.
03:13Let's see here. I use this to wear that.
03:15Now she's locked down tight, my man.
