00:01Surely there has to be some accountability.
00:05Yesterday, Kerala Health Minister attacked the government.
00:09That was an allocation.
00:10Is that so?
00:11While they are protesting, they are showing black flags.
00:13I see.
00:14Actually, what do you want to say?
00:16Well, I am not in favour of any kind of violent attacks.
00:20The Chief Minister, after 19 months, the Chief Minister is going to hand over keys to 178 homes.
00:26He is the first face, total 410 homes.
00:28How do you evaluate the government's speed in giving this kind of rehabilitation?
00:32Well, obviously, as the MP of Vainard, I would have hoped that the speed was faster.
00:38In our own case, we had a lot of problems in clearing the land issues, land papers, etc., identification,
00:46and a lot of the issues that came up with actually the paperwork of the land.
00:51That was also partly due to the state government dragging its feet.
00:55So, I just wish that we had all been…
00:58I mean, I would say that everybody has tried their best to do whatever they can.
01:03I cannot…
01:03I would not like to fault this one or that one or politicize this issue.
01:08We have all tried.
01:09We have all done our best.
01:10I am very happy that these victims are getting these houses.
01:14Of course, all of us wish and hope that it could have been done earlier and that we could have
01:18done more earlier.
01:20And, of course, as you know, we have had practically no help from the centre, which is also, I feel,
01:26tragic.
01:27Because, whether it was even declaring it a national disaster, it took a lot of perseverance to get it declared
01:33even a disaster of severe nature.
01:35And, unfortunately, in situations like this, these are times for all of us to come together, all of us to
01:40be above politics.
01:41I know it's election time.
01:43Yes.
01:43But, still, I would say these are times where, when something happens of this scale and this nature.
01:50I think we all must come together and we must work together.
01:52And, I would think that, to a large extent, everybody has done their best.
01:56Since it's the last 48 hours, you are no longer in Kerala.
01:59You are in Kerala.
