00:00This is the golden age of America.
00:02President Trump has wrapped up his State of the Union address, marking the longest such speech in U.S. history.
00:08Domestic issues were in focus as President Trump urged Congress to work on a health care framework
00:14that would redirect federal subsidies from insurance companies to consumers and codify most favored nation drug pricing.
00:21He also pressed lawmakers to ban institutional investors from buying single-family homes
00:27and announced a new proposal for workers without access to retirement savings plans.
00:32The president also threw his support behind legislation that would crack down on insider trading in Congress to a standing
00:39ovation.
00:39As we ensure that all Americans can profit from a rising stock market,
00:44let's also ensure that members of Congress cannot corruptly profit from using insider information.
01:00Some of the Supreme Court justices who overturned the president's broad-based tariffs were there in the chamber
01:07amid a threat during the remarks for tougher penalties if countries back out of trade deals negotiated with the U
01:13.S.
01:14Foreign policy was also a key theme amid rising tensions between the U.S. and Iran.
01:19President Trump said, my preference is to solve this problem through diplomacy.
01:25But made clear that military action still remains on the table.
01:28The president also leaned into his crackdown on immigration
01:31and called for the Department of Homeland Security to be funded amid a partial government shutdown
01:36over proposed changes to ICE.
01:38That standoff was a big focal point of Democrats' pushback during the speech.
01:42There were few bipartisan moments amid a lot of tension with the other side of the aisle,
01:47but there was applause across the chamber for the appearance of the gold medal-winning U.S. men's Olympic hockey
01:53team
01:53and the Congressional Medal of Honor being awarded to service members,
01:57including an officer wounded during the raid that arrested Nicolas Maduro.
