Colorado’s vascular surgeon, Don Jacobs, watched Deion Sanders struggle on the field and feared he might need his leg amputated. This came after the struggles he faced against TCU. Sanders underwent surgery to clear blood clots, and then later came back to the field and anchored his team as they beat Iowa State at home.

00:07I was worried too, and I couldn't make a chance to run, and my arm headed to the rescue.
00:12Sprinting, I don't even run, and I was sprinting.
00:14I needed to be shot up so I could make it through the game.

00:25But, you know, we got you in the morning.
00:27In fact, I think I was impressed, and everything healed up well.
00:31So that's a testament to you too, but I, you know, I really feel good about really cleaning it out
00:38better, you know, with newer technology to get all that out.
00:42And it's even done some more on its own, so, you know, my hope is we never say this, that
00:49you're done forever.
00:50This kind of stuff, you know, heals permanently and never a problem again.
00:53But I think the chances of trouble here is pretty small.
00:58Amen.

01:11We'll look at this one more time.
01:15Let us know if there's any questions at all about how that leg feels.
01:18You're acting.
01:19You're acting.
01:20You're not doing things.
01:21Yes, sir.
01:21I think you'll know if something's changed.
01:23Gotcha.
