00:04thousands of inauthentic accounts, according to a new analysis shared with Politico.
00:09The report was compiled by disinformation detection company Kyabra and examined the
00:13rapper's activity on X between November 11th and December 28th.
00:17During that period, Minaj posted in support of Trump administration policies and criticized
00:21political opponents, including California Governor Gavin Newsom.
00:25Last month, she publicly described herself as the president's number one fan.
00:30Kyabra's analysis identified 18,784 accounts it assessed as fake that engaged with Minaj's
00:36political content. According to the report, 33 percent of all profiles interacting with her
00:40political posts during the time frame were determined to be inauthentic.
00:44Dan Brahmi, CEO and founder of Kyabra, told Politico that the scale of activities stood out.
00:49He said high-volume coordination involving both geopolitical narratives and entertainment
00:53figures is uncommon in his field of research. The report found that many of the identified
00:57accounts repeatedly amplified Minaj's posts, often using similar language patterns.
01:02In particular, these accounts frequently responded to criticism directed at the rapper.
01:06Kyabra described the activity as a sustained amplification network that coincided with her
01:11increased political messaging. On December 26th, the activity peaked.
01:15According to the findings, fake accounts generated 56 percent of all comments on Minaj's political
01:20posts that day. Kyabra stated that the accounts posted alongside authentic users and mirrored
01:24organic engagement rhythms in an apparent effort to blend into real conversations.
01:28The report also identified what it described as a second layer of inauthentic engagement,
01:33including supportive comments portraying Minaj as courageous or praising her values.
01:38Kyabra concluded that the activity showed indicators of coordinated engagement manipulation
01:42aimed at reinforcing visible support and increasing the reach of the content.
01:46In total, the identified campaign generated 59,001 engagements during the period analyzed.
01:51Nicki Minaj has not publicly commented on the findings.
