00:00Jessie Well guys
00:00after two weeks, I finally made it out of the hospital.
00:03It has been quite the journey
00:05and by far the most extreme and painful
00:10and challenging injury I've ever faced
00:14in my entire life times a hundred.
00:16Dr. Tom Hackett saved my leg.
00:18He saved my leg from being amputated.
00:21He did what's called a fasciotomy
00:24where he cut open both sides of my leg
00:27I kind of fellate it open, so to speak, let it breathe, and he saved me.
00:37And, you know, I always talk about everything happens for a reason,
00:40but if I hadn't torn my ACL, which I would have torn anyways with this crash,
00:46if I hadn't done that, Tom wouldn't have been there.
00:48He wouldn't have been able to save my leg.
00:50So I feel very lucky and grateful for him for the six-hour surgery he put in on Wednesday
00:59to rebuild it, which went amazingly well.
01:03But I can't tell you how painful it's been.
01:07It's been really hard, and it was definitely not the way I wanted to end my Olympics.
01:13I always fight.
01:15I keep going.
01:16No regrets.
01:19And I just appreciate all the love and support.
01:22It's been really amazing.
