Bears coach Matt Eberflus describes what he has learned about Caleb Williams through the course of the offseason work, training camp and preseason as a person and a QB.
Transcript
00:06Well, he's a great learner, very smart, he works really hard, but he's also able to work
00:14with others.
00:15You know, he's compatible personality-wise, instinct-wise, to be able to communicate with
00:21people and his willingness to learn.
00:25You know how some people, the first time you meet him, it's like, man, this guy is a know-it
00:30-all.
00:30You know what I mean?
00:31You get that feeling?
00:32Not about any of you guys, but it kind of turns you off, right?
00:38A little bit.
00:39He is not that way at all.
00:41This guy has had tremendous success.
00:44Heisman, first pick in the draft, very successful as a college player, and his willingness to
00:51learn is second to none.
00:53I mean, much of what I said, just the process to be able to get into the huddle, make the
00:59call, be clean, get to the line, look at the shot clock, and say, okay, this is a little
01:06bit low, and move guys around fast enough to get the snap off, have awareness, and then
01:12really do a good job of at the line of scrimmage to be able to adjust to what the defense
01:16gives
01:16you, and make your adjustments from there.
01:18And I think it's been clean.
01:20And then post snap, I think he's been relatively good in terms of going through his progressions,
01:25you know, making good decisions, you know, taking care of the football in the pocket with
01:29two hands and moving around there when he has to have to do that.
01:34But overall, I thought a good preseason for him.
01:41Good evening.
01:42Bye.
