00:07I think it's it's fair to say that you seem to be enjoying cricket so much these days since
00:12coming back is that fair? Well yeah I'm happy to be back with my boys and playing for the
00:19pro tiers for sure obviously the breakaway from the international stages was good and to come
00:26back and be refreshed and to be back with the guys who I really love playing with and who I've
00:31always
00:31dreamt of playing with has been great for me so yeah I love being back with the guys again. In
00:38terms
00:38of the the team it seems a very settled unit you know there doesn't seem to be many issues you
00:45know
00:45going forward in the tournament would would you agree? None of yet let's put it that way none of
00:50yet team that is is quite settled that has helped we've been in Ahmedabad for quite a while so we
00:56kind of used the environment I've settled down quite nicely so but no headaches yet.
01:03How's it Kuni? Kuni obviously you're an opening batter and your your partner Aidan Markram is in
01:08some fantastic form and what have you seen different in him because he's striking better
01:12than than ever before really? I'm not too sure to be honest maybe just clarity I think that's it
01:23just clarity in his role I think maybe before we never used to open bat three four five had different
01:31situations all the time so yeah always had to adapt where I think opening bats as an opening batter is
01:37pretty much one sort of thing you can just do so I think it's also eased is it's easier for
01:44him to deal
01:45with so probably just the clarity that he's had at opening. And just in terms of his leadership I mean
01:51he
01:51led you through the last tournament and you guys did better than ever before is anything different this
01:57time or is he you know does form help leadership? I don't think anything's changed
02:05probably just I think in anything in our team we're just trying to be more consistent in the way we
02:11go
02:11about things I think obviously he's urged us on onto that he's trying to let the players be ourselves
02:19that's pretty much it he hasn't changed much Aidan's Aidan so it's just about consistency I think for him.
02:28How much of having played three matches in the group stages that this would even
02:32you help going into tomorrow's match? Yeah it does I think it does help quite a bit um we played
02:39a day
02:39game and a night game yeah so kind of understand the conditions um but in saying I don't think it
02:45means
02:46too much because the Indian teams played here through RPLs and a lot of them have played here the whole
02:52their career so um I don't think it plays that too much of a difference at the end of the
02:57day.
02:58The Indian team is loaded with left-handers and there's a lot of talk about that left-handers face
03:03difficulties against off-spinners you being a left-hander what is your opinion about it how how much it's all
03:10talked and how much is this? I think it's all depends on on on the how the wickets playing um
03:19obviously if the
03:20wickets not turning um it's obviously easier to play the spin um but yeah I think yeah I'm in a
03:28bad
03:29I think when we felt on these wickets they've been a bit a bit more seamer friendly uh the spin
03:36has
03:36kind of traveled a little bit so I'm saying that it's all it's all about conditions at the end of
03:42the
03:42day um it's always going to be harder for a left-handed batsman to to struggle a bit against a
03:48right arm offy if it's spinning so um like I said it's all just onto the conditions what what we
03:54what
03:54we deal with. Hi here uh we have seen the direction that the Indian team has taken since the 2024
04:01final
04:02in that game you guys were in a winning position and you let the game lose could you talk to
04:08me about
04:09the processes that you guys have set after that so that a situation like that when it comes you guys
04:14don't lose a grip in the game uh to be honest after that day we just uh just forgot about
04:23it
04:25in all honesty I don't think any of us any of us really wanted to speak about it everyone went
04:31home
04:31and kind of went through their own process how to deal with it um we didn't need to talk about
04:37as a team
04:39that's pretty much it we never really spoke about it I think from there I haven't been around with
04:44the team since then not much so they probably have but I've only just joined for the last couple of
04:50months
04:51so that's as far as I know that's just all that's happened
04:57any plans in the team meetings uh to start with off spinner like uh Pakistan and Netherlands have done to
05:04Amishek Sharma I have no clue in all fairness don't know we'll see
05:14Amishek Sharma is not doing well have you seen him batting the recent matches and uh if you are asked
05:21uh what advice would you like to give him uh to be honest I haven't been watching uh I've been
05:28doing
05:28we're doing our own thing uh carrying on away from cricket so um
05:34um any advice I don't know he's the number one t20 batsman in the world at the moment according to
05:41ranking so he must keep doing what he's doing and young he's obviously quite young he's bound to fail
05:47so being number one obviously means something so I'm sure at some point he's going to play an important knock
05:54um Quentin hi uh just you know as a South African watching the 2025 WTC final uh what were your
06:02emotions and and did that win against Australia help change public perception about the South African side
06:08itself uh yeah to be honest uh we weren't weren't actually watching um I was actually in America
06:16another league at that point and they don't really have coverage of crickets and they're part of the
06:20world so um so well we heard about it obviously happy with the teammates I was with but we just
06:28carried on um we'll say that to carry on with the way with our uh tournament we're going on so
06:33not much
06:34influence I was happy for some of the guys um but yeah not much uh one final question uh I
06:44think uh
06:44your record against India if you have to talk about it you have been playing so much uh cricket over
06:50the last oh throughout your career so how confident are you you know against this Indian bowling attack
06:55which has been doing well particularly the spinners Varun Chakravarty Akshar Patil uh so if you can
07:00talk about the Indian bowling strength and your record against India um yeah I think I think just genuinely
07:07when we play against India and India come to us we generally play always on good wickets so um and
07:13India is kind of known for a high scoring country so um I think you can take that the positive
07:20note
07:21obviously and I'm in a bad lately there has been some good high scores um so but in saying that
07:28it's
07:28still another game um obviously the the past that said it's a it's a high scoring ground but never
07:34know what happens tomorrow um so yeah we'll just have to see how it goes and it's played but yeah
07:39hopefully we score more runs than the Indian team at the end of the day
07:43Quinton uh four games in December and also the warm-up game in Mumbai so familiarity is obviously a
07:49factor is that a double-edged sword I mean both of you all I didn't hear you I said familiarity
07:53with
07:53each other as far as the teams are concerned because you played five matches in the last sort
07:56of year a month and a half is that a double-edged sword uh yeah I guess so I think
08:03I think it's good
08:05I think that's what's going to make for quite a good game tomorrow I think because we've played
08:08against each other quite a bit over the last two months um and to be honest the teams haven't really
08:13changed much um so I think it's more when you're out there uh on the pressure side who deals with
08:21the pressure better and wins the most small moments in the game um and not even just playing against
08:26India I think in the IPL we're always playing against each other a lot um everyone knows each
08:31other how everyone plays how everybody thinks so I think it's just a matter about being out there who
08:36he falls under the pressure first uh Quinton uh does this Indian team appear a little tougher
08:43or better in terms if you compare it from the one which you guys face in 2024 final
08:53it's a bit of a mix and match because you guys have got some I think India's got some seriously
08:57talented guys um but in saying that when you're back in that team you guys have Virat and Roe which
09:04was
09:04quite a quite a quite a deadly deadly batting unit um the guys have come and replaced them have just
09:11almost like replaced them by scoring that amount of runs so um look it's double-edged sword like you
09:19said um the youngsters are banning really well we've been keeping our eye out on them um that whole band
09:25unit scoring runs at important times so I wouldn't say one's better than the other I think it's just
09:30you know at that moment in time in the tournament when form their forms there um the confidence is
09:36there and who deals under the pressure better type thing Quinton you've spoken about Aiden's batting
09:43and leadership my question is on his bowling because India is a very left-handed heavy batting lineup and
09:49their frailties have been exposed by teams like Pakistan and the Netherlands in that vein do you think
09:54Aiden we saw him doing a bit of bowling at the nets as well do you think that his bowling
09:58will be
09:59crucial in the upcoming match and additionally uh do you think the lack of a front line off spinner
10:03might hurt South Africa's chances yeah I think it's different I think well I don't know because
10:09those games were played in Sri Lanka I think it's very spin friendly there so obviously it's going to
10:15help the the office or any sort of spin there um come back yet to Amnabad there hasn't been any
10:21spin
10:23so I think it's all about playing the conditions whether we open up with a spinner or seamers who
10:28knows but I'm pretty sure the guys who are looking into it will will let us know and we'll just
10:34deal
10:34with it when the time comes
10:38Quinton uh before the T20 World Cup started uh Indian captain Suryatamari Adhavad predicted that
10:44India will play Australia in the finals on March 8th but now that Australia are out do you believe that
10:49the Proteas are the best team up next to play them or rather beat them in the finals uh no
10:56I don't think
10:56so I think I think the nature of World Cups that it doesn't allow uh favoritism at some point because
11:05at any moment of time in a game someone can win the game out of nowhere um so that's the
11:12thing it's
11:12quite a fickle a fickle game World Cups especially T20 World Cups because games can be changed in a
11:18matter of two to three overs by just by one individual so I wouldn't say anyone's really
11:23favorite because there's some really good teams that are going forward now um maybe one or two guys
11:28are playing better cricket but it doesn't mean in the future games they're going to win um that's
11:34just because of the the fickleness of the T20 World Cups uh Quinton uh you have seen Varun Chakravarti
11:46from close quarters in your KKR when you were there in KKR so as an opponent now how difficult
11:52or like it is to plan against him especially if you need an asking rate and someone like he if
12:00he was in the death of us and even in the middle of us so if you can talk about
12:04that the Varun Chakravarti
12:05factor um yeah I think I think everyone everyone has their way about going about it uh I think I
12:14think
12:15just at the end of the day our guys just have to stick to their own strengths um and use
12:19their instincts at
12:19the right time I think that's it he's a good bowler very good bowler um at the moment um
12:27and yeah obviously he bowled really well against us in the series um like two months ago uh hopefully
12:34the guys have after that series just had a little bit more time to have a look at him um
12:38speak about
12:39how they're going to play against them so hopefully with their plans it comes off um and if it doesn't
12:45there's a reason why it's probably the number one t20 spinner in the world so we'll have to see what
12:49what you can do
