00:13The downpours that began on Thursday inundated residential areas and turned roads into channels
00:19of mud, stranding vehicles, and damaging infrastructure. Officials said the victims
00:25included a man struck by lightning and an elderly woman who died after a river overflowed.
00:55In Araquipa, piles of debris and mud surrounded vehicles that had been pushed together by
01:02the flow while residents waded through flooded streets and pumped water from their homes.
01:07Meanwhile, drone footage from Kama District showed streets blanketed in sludge as a tractor
01:14worked to clear mud-blocked roads.
