00:00First of all, it's great to be back and have an excuse to come back to Brazil.
00:06So many memories here.
00:08I've only had just a brief chance to walk through the club,
00:13which seems extraordinarily beautiful,
00:17both from a facility standpoint, but also the scenic environment.
00:23It's very intimate.
00:25Yeah, and I ran into Joel out there on the practice courts
00:29and got to spend a week with him at the Labor Cup.
00:33So it was very nice to see him again.
00:36He is obviously quite the sensation, but even a better human being,
00:44very much beyond his years, you know, mentally, emotionally,
00:54very self-aware, very aware of his environment, very smart processes very well.
01:01Yeah, I always enjoy seeing somebody that I respect so much on and off the court.
01:08How can you answer to those people who are expecting João to win every single match?
01:16Yeah, well, I mean, first of all, I would encourage João to take that as a big compliment,
01:22you know, that people think he should win every match.
01:25It's a big compliment.
01:26You know, I would also encourage him not to realize that him living up to other people's expectations is not
01:37his responsibility.
01:38You know, him always seeking to improve is his responsibility.
01:45So I would hope that he has, let's say, comfort in this separation of other people's expectation
01:57versus what he chooses to do and focus on for himself.
02:03And sometimes it gets difficult because you get ahead of yourself
02:09or you start attaching a little too much value to winning or to losing
02:16and you forget on what you need to do to get better
02:20because winning is a byproduct of doing a thousand things right.
02:25You know, he's a luxury of being young, but he has the burden of being so much expectation.
02:36And I know him well enough to understand his, you know, his sensibilities.
02:43Like, as I mentioned, he's emotionally beyond his years, very intellectually smart, emotionally stable
02:53because there's no reason why he shouldn't be getting better every week, even with a loss.
