00:00The reaction when we pull up in the Solar Sound Maze 2 is always a wow.
00:07We usually start with sound quality and just get used to that.
00:11We slam them on the bass.
00:26I'm Rafael Capone, the owner of the Solar Sound Studios Group.
00:30And here we have the Solar Sound H2.
00:43The amount of speakers in the Solar Sound H2 is 86.
00:49We want sound quality at loud, natural volumes versus just blaring, hurting your ears loud.
01:00We've had many clients that use Solar Sound Studios.
01:06TI, Future, Justin Bieber, Rocco, Jeezy.
01:16The Solar Sound H2, we use it for marketing, promotion, brand awareness, charity, competition.
01:24Thank you, everybody, for showing up.
01:27I'm sure Jason's smiling.
01:28I missed the show.
01:29You probably already know.
01:33You're going to get the car.
01:42We average at least 100 car shows a year.
01:45That's not including meets.
01:48We average just over 250, sometimes 300 to under 300 trophies a year.
02:02I made the Solar Sound H2 because it isn't the first of its kind.
02:07And 1990, when I was still in the military, my first show vehicle was built.
02:13And that was my passion.
02:15Of course, I wanted to open up a recording studio, but I wanted to do both.
02:19So, I built a show vehicle.
02:21It was called the Motown Soldier.
02:23It became world famous back then.
02:25So, we got this in the end of 2014.
02:28In 30 days, we put all the LED lights on it.
02:31We got a system going in it.
02:33We put the wheels on it.
02:34We put the graphics on it.
02:37I started doing shows, and it was cool.
02:40When building it, my main focus was sound quality.
02:43I wanted to be loud, but I wanted sound quality.
02:45I wanted to, what I hear in the studio, to hear on the road.
02:48All of our speakers are doing different things.
02:50So, let's say we have 10 10s,
02:556 tweeters,
02:5814 horns,
02:5912 subs,
03:028 mid bass speakers, 8 mid ring speakers.
03:05We've been told, up to 3 miles away,
03:08we've been heard.
03:10Because sometimes on the weekend, I'll prepare for a show,
03:12and I'll be testing and tuning,
03:14and a cop pulled up.
03:16And he was like, what are you doing?
03:18I was like, hey, I have a championship show tomorrow.
03:21I'm trying to set the system.
03:22He was like, I was 2 1⁄2 miles away,
03:24and just followed the sound to you.
03:26I was like, okay, I'll cut it off.
03:28And he was such a nice cop.
03:29He said, I'm going to give you 15 more minutes.
03:31I'll cancel all the 911 calls,
03:33just complaining about the sound,
03:35and get your system right, and I hope you win.
03:38And I took those 15 minutes, and I set the system.
03:41And when we did that show the next day,
03:43we came back with 12 trophies.
03:44One show.
03:46Trying to get 86 speakers,
03:4911 amplifiers,
03:513 miles of copper wiring,
03:533 alternators, 7 batteries,
03:55DSP,
03:56and a vehicle this size.
04:00Everything had to be designed.
04:22Even our pillars, which are easily overlooked,
04:26are custom pillars that house tweeters.
04:28Of course, we have a red chrome wrap
04:30with the red chrome matching wheels.
04:32And then we have all of our microphone switches.
04:34So we can cut on up to five microphones,
04:37and have five live mics going at the same time,
04:40because we have a studio-grade mixer.
04:44This is my favorite microphone,
04:45so it stays up here with me,
04:46but the mics we let people use are in the back.
04:49A nice iPad and a dash.
04:53And all our switches have been moved,
04:56but the coolest thing,
04:57we pull our iPad out,
04:59we still have our radio controls.
05:01On a quick glance,
05:02that's the Soul Asylum H2.
05:05A very diverse, multi-controlled,
05:0986-speaker, mobile stage,
05:13sound quality, SPL build.
05:15The nice thing about the Soul Asylum H2
05:17is it isn't slow.
05:18It's top speed, 105 miles an hour,
05:21in this big, beautiful, heavy vehicle.
05:24I'll let you guys just think about
05:26what it could possibly cost,
05:27but we did buy the Hummer used for $40,000.
05:32And if you just take our amps and speakers
05:35in a box, unshipped, from Match Pro Audio,
05:39you're looking at over $35,000 just in a box.
05:44Best I can give you on prices.
05:47If we ever sold the H2,
05:48it would definitely have to be someone
05:49that was gonna use it for charity,
05:51or use it for what we're using it for.
05:52It couldn't just go and be locked up in some garage.
05:55If someone offered me money to buy the Soul Asylum H2
05:57without hesitation,
05:58it would be for a quarter million dollars.
06:01When it gets dark,
06:03the Soul Asylum H2 is bananas.
06:05We have won world titles for our LED lighting,
06:10interior and exterior.
06:12I'm a very humble person,
06:14but we made people change up their lighting game.
06:17They're very competitive.
06:18Yes, I go to the shows to compete and to win,
06:21because I'm not representing my company at the same time.
06:24So, we're going through.
06:26And early.
