00:30Tenerife with some of the guys a few weeks ago and we got a really good camp there and it
00:35was yeah it was nice to be involved in the team for the first time really and to be around
00:40some of the other guys as well so no I'm feeling good after the off-season it's been a long
00:46winter starting a few weeks later than normal in the last couple years but no it's something I definitely needed
00:55after last year and yeah it's given me a lot of excitement.
00:58Have you made any in a short period of time kind of made any changes to your approach?
01:04No I don't think so I think that was one thing that I was quite keen on not trying to
01:10change everything at once I think already changing teams is a big enough big enough thing in itself and then
01:17I've gone back to Tom my old coach from two or three years ago
01:23so that's also been nice it's a familiar face and someone one less person I didn't have to get to
01:29know already so that made that transition quite easy and seamless.
01:37Looking ahead to this week coming up Algarve it's a race that you've done well at in the past.
01:42How has this final block of preparation gone into the race and what are you looking forward to this week?
01:46Yeah I did this race three years ago now and yeah I really enjoyed it back then it was a
01:52it's a nice way to to start the season and yeah like I said I was in Tenerife the last
01:57few weeks with some of the guys and we had a really good camp up there and I've been feeling
02:02feeling quite good since then so yeah just looking forward to to getting stuck into some racing this week.
02:09I think the main focus is really learning how the team works you know I'm still learning where all the
02:17draws are on the bus and so I think from a performance side it's yeah I don't feel any pressure
02:24to to perform straight away I'm still still figuring everything out in the team first and I think the important
02:30thing is how how we work as a team as riders as the whole the whole group here
02:37and yeah having fun along the way as well.
02:39Yeah what have you learnt about the teammates here so far I think you might have known Tymon or maybe
02:44you guys just missed each other at your performance team?
02:46Yeah I never actually got to race with Tymon but yeah like this obviously I was with Bob, Kevin and
02:54Tymon in Tenerife so I've got to know them well over the last few weeks and then yeah I only
03:02met Filippo and Kim yesterday and I haven't met Lawrence yet but now I'm looking forward to just racing with
03:10these guys you know I like I've been racing in the same bunch as these guys for the last few
03:16years.
03:16and I've seen what they and what the team in general are able to do in certain situations so I'm
03:24excited to be involved in that.
03:26What is the rest of your season sort of mapped out or what does that look like to you?
03:29Yeah I think it's you can say quite a traditional pathway up until the Tour I think it's yeah it's
03:37no secret that the Tour is the main focus for the year for myself and for the team.
03:41I think we have a really strong line up there and quite a few different and exciting goals going into
03:47it as well.
03:48So yeah we'll start here in Algarve and then onto Paris-Nice after that and then hopefully Catalonia which is
03:57quite a short turnaround after Paris-Nice but it's a race again that I really enjoy doing.
04:02and it's in the area where I live as well so I know quite a few of the roads and
04:06yeah and then from there we build up really starts with the Tour and yeah that normal pathway into there.
04:14quite a bit ahead of time.
04:16for a great thing.
04:16Well, thanks.
04:17Thanks, guys.
