00:00Iran has consistently pursued a strategy aimed at the peaceful use of nuclear energy
00:07while demonstrating readiness to address any concerns regarding the nature of its nuclear program
00:14and to ensure its exclusively peaceful character.
00:19It was on this basis that Iran entered into nuclear negotiations and has continued until very today.
00:30A review of the course of these negotiations speaks volumes.
00:35The Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently affirmed that it neither seeks to manufacture
00:42nor to acquire nuclear weapons, which have no place whatsoever in Iran's national security doctrine.
00:50Despite Iran's demonstrated commitment to diplomacy and good faith engagement, the conduct of
00:56certain Western states, most notably the United States, has seriously undermined the credibility
01:03of the negotiating process.
01:06The unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA, in clear violation of an internationally
01:13endorsed agreement, dealt a profound blow to trust and stability of multilateral obligations.
01:20The United States and some European states persist in the imposition of unlawful sanctions, military
01:27threats, the engagement in force posturing, and the issuance of explicit references to the
01:34possible use of force by the United States, including significant military deployments in the region.
01:42Such actions constitute a continuing violation of the prohibition of the threat or use of force
01:50as enshrined in Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the Charter of the United Nations and must be brought to an
01:57immediate
01:57and unconditional end.
02:00Distinguished delegates, Iran has always been prepared to engage in meaningful and result-oriented negotiations.
02:07Any sustainable agreement must ensure the full recognition of Iran's legitimate rights,
02:15deliver tangible benefits, and be safeguarded against unilateral actions that undermine trust and credibility.
02:24According to these principles, and as a result of the good offices by our friendly countries in the region,
02:31which we are very grateful, a new window of opportunity has opened under which we had the second round
02:40of the negotiations with the United States earlier today here in Geneva.
02:46We are hopeful that negotiations will lead to a sustainable and negotiated solution
02:52which can serve the interests of relevant parties and the broader region.
02:57At the same time, as demonstrated during the aggression of 13 June 2025,
03:04Iran remains fully prepared to defend itself against any threat or act of aggression.
03:12The consequences of any attack against Iran will not be confined to its borders.
