00:46Excel is kind of hiding some of that data
00:49and this is completely normal.
00:50And if I double click on that cell
00:52I get to see everything that's in the cell.
00:54So it's fine. This is not really a problem.
00:58But if I really want to be able to see
01:00all of the information that's in cell E5 at a glance
01:04I have a few options and one of them of course
01:08is to double click between E and F.
01:10If I do that it will show everything in that cell
01:13but it stretches out column E so far
01:16that I'm not able to see everything at a glance that I want to see.
01:20So I'm going to hold ctrl and tap Z to undo that.
01:23Instead of double clicking between E and F
01:26I'm going to use line breaks to make everything fit the way I want it to.
01:31So I'm going to double click after the word a
01:34and you can see I have a flashing cursor there
01:36and then I'll just hold the alt key and tap enter
01:39and that puts a line break right there in the cell.
01:43Maybe I want another line break here.
01:46Alt enter and another here.
01:48Alt enter and another here.
01:51Alt enter and a last line break after the word the.
01:55Alt enter.
01:56Now when I tap enter you can see what happens.
01:59Column E is exactly the same width as it was before
02:03but all of my data that's in cell E5 is visible at a glance.
02:08Now the consequence of doing this is
02:11that row number 5 now is much taller than any other row.
02:15But in many cases that's totally fine.
02:18It might be just what you want.
02:20Now there are other ways to accomplish something similar
02:23including wrap text and also an option called shrink to fit.
02:28And you can find that here if you click the dialog box launcher button.
02:32There's shrink to fit.
