00:00Tough day in the office?
00:01Yeah, probably a relief at the end that the players really showed what they're about
00:07in the second half, so that's the positive to come out of it, but obviously disappointed
00:12with what we've done, the first half was as bad as it was in some respects, but we've
00:18had a tough couple of weeks, so maybe we didn't quite realise how much it had taken out on
00:24the players, but no, really pleased with the second half and we've rewarded the fans with
00:28something of a performance and now the club has got to move on very quickly.
00:33Because it was threatening to get bad after 28 minutes.
00:37Yeah, I think we've seen that in the last few rounds, it can happen, you know, Man City
00:42can do it to anybody, can't they? Probably the two teams you don't want to play in this
00:47situation, you know, it's something, you know, in the first and second round you're playing
00:54the non-league teams and then you beat Preston and, you know, you want something good out
00:59of the hat, but I always said be careful what you wish for and I think that was proved right
01:04today.
01:04How much of that was Arsenal really coming out of the blocks or not doing yourselves
01:09any favours?
01:10No, they paid us the utmost respect, obviously they can put two good teams out, the tempo,
01:16the game, they weren't sloppy in any sense, which you sort of maybe hope for, you think,
01:22maybe think it's going to be a breeze, but no, they were very professional in everything
01:27they did. So, for honest, they paid us the utmost respect to, you know, both the manager
01:32and the team, so I sort of took, you know, something from that, but we've just got to
01:38look forward and move forward and, you know, I was just pleased with the action from the
01:41players and the fans for the second half performance and that's where we need to be, all stick together
01:47and move on.
01:48And the substitution on half an hour, it certainly seemed to get better after that, didn't it?
01:52Yeah, yeah, definitely. You know, but maybe we looked at a lot of teams, how they play
01:58in these games and wouldn't say got it wrong, but just a little tweak made the difference.
02:04Matt Smith, how disappointed was he to not start?
02:07Yeah, I think, well, they were all disappointed, obviously it was a big thing for him, but I
02:13think that the performance Matt gave is what the club needs from now to end of the season,
02:17not, you know, he's a good footballer, obviously he was taught the game here and they speak
02:23well of him here, but at our level you have to dig in a bit more and he dug in
02:29today and,
02:30you know, that bodes well for the future.
02:32And finally, obviously the season's not going to be final today, did you learn enough in the
02:36last hour that you can perhaps take him to the rest of the season?
02:40I think so, yeah. I think, you know, we had our moments, but we know we'd have to be more
02:45creative in our own league, but the way that we got back to stopping, you know, Sam Tickle
02:51made some good saves, and the blocks and, you know, the real defending is what we'll need,
02:58but then we know we have to improve the other side of the game, but no, we'll be fine, we'll
03:04be fine.
03:05Thank you. Any more guys?
03:09Tickle was linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer, do you think today showed why they're quite keen
03:14on him?
03:15Yeah, well, he's been like this for the last three years, he's very good at keeping the ball at the
03:21net,
03:21but we all know now in football that you have to have a bit more as a goalkeeper, haven't you?
03:26And that's the side that he needs to really improve, and I feel sure that he would get a move
03:32to a bigger club,
03:33but he has all the potential, he's a very good trainer, he's a decent boy, he's a winner,
03:39he has a great attitude, so I think, you know, the future is bright for him, definitely.
03:46Greg, can I just ask one about the manager at Citra? Do you expect anything to happen in the next
03:5024, 48 hours?
03:52I hope so, I do, I hope so, I'll have a heart attack if nothing happens soon, but no, I
04:00would imagine,
04:00they seem to be quite a way down the road with something, so hopefully it will get done.
04:05Have you enjoyed the last week?
04:07Sort of, yeah. I mean, I've always been heavily involved, but I forgot what it was like to wake up
04:16at 5 in the morning and thinking,
04:18my wife said she stopped talking to me last week, because she said, oh you've got his 4-4-2
04:24in your head,
04:24and it's just a waste of time talking to me, so it's been back to that really, because I had
04:28a few years of that,
04:29so just move on now and let somebody else take it. Thank you. Cheers, guys. Cheers, everybody. Bye.
