Un t-shirt vendu en ligne par le Comité international olympique est à l'origine d'une polémique. Il fait partie de la collection "Héritage" qui reprend des motifs historiques des JO. Sauf que ce t-shirt est inspiré des Jeux de 1936, organisés par les nazis, dont il reproduit l'esthétique. S'il fait bondir certains, le CIO, lui, justifie ce choix en raison de la validité des droits d'auteurs. L'institution refuse que d'autres utilisent cette marque "à mauvais escient".

00:03There's kind of two answers to that question.
00:05One is a technical one, which is actually an important one,
00:07which I'll come on to in a minute.
00:09The first answer is, of course, we can't rewrite history.
00:13The 1936 Games happened, and by the way,
00:15we hold up what Jesse Owens did and a number of other athletes
00:19as great examples of upholding the Olympic spirit.
00:23So I think we need to also remember
00:24that there are also some good aspects of that.
00:28The technical answer, which is actually quite important,
00:32is that the validity of those trademarks
00:35depends on us exercising our rights to use those trademarks.
00:39So if we stop using those trademarks,
00:43they can be taken by other people and potentially misused.
00:46We produce a small number of those items,
00:49but the main reason is to protect our copyright
00:52so that they can't be misused.
