00:28نعم definitely a great performance and I think you were in like your luck came in being in safe hands
00:37an Oscar winner director Jennifer Lopez and Diego Luna and you are the cherry on top of the cake so
00:46it was you know match made in heaven um congratulations again and I wanted to know
01:19I had the distinct pleasure of telling stories now professionally for 10 years and so it felt
01:27like everything that I have trained for and all the lessons that I've learned all the tools that
01:32I have gained all needed to come in at the same time and so with Kendall I went back and
01:37I asked
01:38Bill to give me every visual reference that he was possibly going to make to go and absorb those
01:43worlds to understand his vocabulary but I'm a cinephile through and through and so you know
01:49I thought to myself like how can I bring in Gene Kelly's mannerisms and have Errol Flynn's hair
01:56and who is a traumatized actor of that time who was closeted I was like Montgomery Cliff let's bring
02:05in that pain of Montgomery Cliff with Kendall Nesbitt and you know then we trained we danced we I was
02:10with some of the best in Broadway to make sure that I was ready and and able to dance with
02:16the
02:16incredible Jennifer Lopez who's a massive talent herself and then we then with Molina I wanted to
02:25tell the story of someone who was genderless because I wanted to to humanize and center a
02:33marginalized community that is constantly being attacked and so I had to lose 45 pounds in 50
02:38days to God I saw to be able to like get live the reality of being inside of a dictatorship
02:46in a prison in a dictatorship but also um to to find that femininity and to find this genderless
02:54expression so that way by the very end that that number blows you away because the trend the full
03:01spectrum of living was on full display it it was very interesting to see somebody who's
03:09in a depressing place in in prison and all of this yet again his soul and his fantasy he lives
03:17in a
03:17beautiful world and his love for cinema and all of this and for movies was kind of like you cannot
03:24contain me in those walls I am free more than anybody outside and I love this about your character I
03:30love
03:30seeing you in both places so tell me about dancing singing and acting is like triple threat for
03:36for real well I I I've ever since I was a kid I think if there's good energy I want
03:43to be there
03:43so it doesn't matter what culture it doesn't matter what kind of music if there's good vibes like I'm
03:49going to learn the dance I want to be a part of the energy um because life is so delicious
03:55you know
03:56we're only we're only here for such a short amount of time and my hunger for life is
04:01insatiable um and there's so much beauty everywhere and so I don't know I think this was just a moment
04:07where as a cinephile myself I got to go backwards in time you know and how many people get to
04:15say
04:15that they were in a classic Hollywood film shot in a classic Hollywood way you know it was really
04:19incredible it's amazing and like I tell I told Bill yesterday that was one of the best thing
04:25that in the film that you see like Hollywood the glamour of Hollywood and the grittiness of the
04:31prison in Argentina in the wartime in the difficult time where people are suffering and stuff like that
04:38so I wanted to know did you have any challenges with bringing Molina to life
04:44the biggest challenge was not eating um especially because we shot we shot in Uruguay
04:50and uh I love bread and I love dulce de leche and everywhere I would look in Uruguay
04:57their number one dessert everywhere was dulce de leche cakes dulce de leche breads dulce de leche
05:03so it was one of those moments I was like oh my god can the food stop being delicious I
05:06need to not eat
05:07you know um but no I um I think one of the most beautiful things about living is that sometimes
05:20people who have experienced the most amount of poverty the most amount of hatred um who've been
05:27inside of prisons have the most open hearts and joy they may have nothing but they refuse
05:38to be sad about it they still find joy in smelling the flowers or telling a story or cracking jokes
05:45my parents were immigrants in this country and yeah we weren't I don't come for money um and this
05:52has been like a miraculous kind of opportunity for me but never once did they ever feel sorry for
05:58themselves we always had something to eat we always were a part of a community we always were laughing
06:03we were always telling jokes and I think that Molina even in prisons refuses to allow themselves
06:09to not live fully like they say we're here for a good time not a long time and that's what
06:16I love
06:16about the Latino community in America they are the hardest working community but yet again you find
06:21them with the cerveza and every time they're having a party the music is loud it's the party you want
06:26to
06:26be a part of baby you know that Latino you can come on bring it on so last question I'm
06:32gonna ask
06:33you like what's next for you I don't know I don't know yet what would you like to play I
06:40love to
06:41transform my body I love to be unrecognizable I think um playing an up I've already done an action
06:48film but I wouldn't mind being in a superhero film I love um dramas I love sci-fis I want
06:55um
06:56another project like with Pedro Madovar or with another incredible directors um I want to live
07:02in those kinds of worlds to like voice a Hayao Miyazaki film would be incredible to do a Broadway
07:07debut would be incredible um to do an album to write a children's book I mean creativity like my
07:14creativity doesn't ever stop what I need is a good assistant I love it I love your energy I
07:19loved your performance and um thank you so much for your time and I'm sure I'm gonna see you soon
07:24very soon I'm sure take care
07:56and I'll see you soon
