00:07So our friends from Minnesota, the heroes that they are,
00:11traveled across the country to here in D.C.
00:15to send a message to our representatives.

00:24Not one more dollar for ice!
00:30And I want everyone here to know that Minnesota is not alone.
00:35What Trump is doing is deeply unpopular.
00:39From Minneapolis to Los Angeles to Maine,
00:44families and neighbors are standing up and bravely confronting
00:49these violent attacks by ice,
00:52putting their bodies on the line,
00:55opening their doors,
00:57sharing groceries and medicine,
01:01closing their wallets to businesses that support ice.
01:06The least our representatives could do is confront this administration,
01:12use the power of the purse,
01:15and cut off the flow of funds to ice and CBP.
01:23So it's time for our representatives to take their lead and abolish ice.
01:32Hello and thank you for being here today. My name is Amanda.
01:37On Tuesday this week,
01:39four ice vehicles followed a car into the parking lot of our childcare center.
01:44Our center went into its fourth ice lockdown of this year.
01:49All of these because ice agents were on or near our childcare center.
01:56Every time it leaves me, our teachers, staff and families scared and angry.
02:04In over 30 years as a childcare professional,
02:07I have never had a lockdown until 3,000 ice agents descended on Minnesota in January.
02:19And to our elected leaders,
02:22if you truly want to protect children,
02:25don't vote for a bill that provides ice with more money to continue harming those children.
02:34If you truly believe in protecting children,
02:37invest that money in children and families and work together with us to make sure each child is safe,
02:46loved and valued every day.
02:52I signed up to be a legal observer to document what ice was going to do.
02:58And we knew that they were going to be coming for our Somali neighbors and all of our immigrant neighbors.
03:03On January 11th days after Renee good was killed.
03:09And after breaking no laws,
03:12I was arrested and detained by ice violently.
03:24These are not criminals.
03:29So no, it is not slowed down.
03:33And Minneapolis, Minnesota,
03:36we'll keep fighting back against this complete unraveling of our constitutional rights and of our dignity.
03:43But we won't let them take that from us, our dignity.
03:52We have come here today to tell Congress that we need support.
04:00All the money that the GOP has stolen from us,
04:04from our health care, our child care, food assistance,
04:08has supercharged this campaign of terror in Minnesota and across the U.S.
04:18Thank you to our friends from Minnesota.
