00:00I don't like a win and what's your overview of the performance because it looks a bit kind of stungy.
00:07Good word that.
00:08I don't know what it means.
00:11I think mixed to be honest.
00:14Mixed feelings, I think we know we weren't quite at our best.
00:17I think credit West Ham for that, a little bit of closing certain spaces up.
00:19But I think we can be better.
00:20The boys are a bit frustrated and disappointed probably with that which is a really good sign for me.
00:26And then finishing with a late goal when we've had to find one is a good moment
00:33and another positive for us to know that we can do that
00:37and we don't want to have to pull on it and use it too often.
00:40But I think in the grand scheme, I think there's a point something where we can take
00:45and we kind of dust ourselves down a little bit, assess it, take these games over a five-game period
00:52and to just have one draw in there, I think, is a big positive.
00:58So mixed feelings, really.
01:00You gambled at the end.
01:02In the last ten minutes when you brought it to you, you might feel the back.
01:05But you missed and then you kind of got second.
01:09That was worth it to get it.
01:11It's always worth it, yeah.
01:12It's always worth it to try and get something out of the game, I think.
01:15I have to say credit to Lenny.
01:17I thought he's two bits of defending 1v1 and defending the counter-attack,
01:23which we knew he was going to have to do at times, throwing the bodies forward.
01:26I thought them two moments where he's blocked were huge moments.
01:30So he deserves a lot of credit for that to give us the chance to then go and get the goal
01:34that will kind of get something out of the game.
01:36We had moments, Josh had a chance, obviously Casemiro had the chance,
01:39which I'm not seeing him, but it must have been close.
01:42And then a big moment for Ben.
01:43So, yeah, we had to go for it.
01:45We had to try and get something out of the game.
01:47And credit to the lads for keep going.
01:50Hi, Michael.
01:51How much thought did you give to Sparty Benjamin tonight?
01:53He's obviously made an impact on the bench a few times.
01:55And did you consider bringing him on, Endric, any other day?
01:58Has it felt for a while that you were just in that kind of focal point of a striker tonight,
02:01not the build-up players tonight?
02:03Yeah, it's always the balance.
02:04I think the boys have done fantastically well, who have played as well.
02:09So that's the importance of the whole group and the importance of the squad.
02:12And I've said it to them after every game.
02:17I only say it because it's that important.
02:19And as I said, Lenny's come on and made a big difference for us tonight in big moments.
02:24And then Ben scored again.
02:26So Ben's doing a lot of work.
02:28He's in a good place.
02:29You know, he's ready to kick on.
02:32It's just managing the kind of balance, you know.
02:37And yeah, we could have changed things a little bit earlier.
02:40That's obviously the decision.
02:41We're always trying to make the right one.
02:43And we're actually having a bit of a spell in the game at that point where we thought we might come back into it.
02:48And Casemiro's goal.
02:49So there's a balance.
02:51But certainly when he came on a pitch, he made a big difference.
02:56Andy?
02:57Hi, Michael.
02:58It's the first time you've got a full week into a game.
03:01How much did the difference make between your preparation and your performance?
03:06No, that is what it is.
03:08It didn't make a difference for us.
03:09I think we know how hard it is to put a run together in this league.
03:15Every team shows that.
03:16It's not easy to build and win every game, you know.
03:19So sometimes you've got to pull on different things.
03:21Sometimes it naturally comes and it flows and you get everything clicks and you look really dangerous and there's a spark.
03:27Sometimes it's a little bit more difficult.
03:30As Simon says, maybe a little bit stodgy.
03:32But sometimes it just doesn't quite work.
03:35You've got to find the answers and find a way.
03:39And listen, we prefer doing it with a clean sheet.
03:41I think if we were really at it, we'd have a clean sheet and give us a chance of winning the game.
03:46That's the frustrating one, really, with a goal that we conceded from a flow that was kind of in their corner.
03:53But sometimes you've got football throws things up and you've got to do it.
03:57So, you know, as I said, in the grand scheme of things, we've managed to take something from it and move on.
04:04Rob and then Carl.
04:06Just a little bit on Ben.
04:07It's obviously a big move for a young striker to come to the Premier League.
04:10And at times before you arrived, it was a little bit short.
04:13Confidence was coming to massive goals for you now.
04:15And then the finish tonight, it looks like the finish of someone who's been in one of three days.
04:21Yeah, it's an unbelievable finish from the angle to kind of generate that, to get it on target, to finish it.
04:27It's some goal from him.
04:30He's capable of that, Ben.
04:31You know, he's done a hell of a time.
04:34It's not like he's just suddenly burst on the scene.
04:36He's been doing it.
04:37He's proven that he can score goals as well.
04:39He's been doing it in training for us as well.
04:41So, it's not surprising, to be honest.
04:43I think that's what he does.
04:45It's what he's good at.
04:46But certainly to actually do it and to feel it.
04:50As I said, the last one would have done him the world of good with a winner.
04:53Tonight, a little bit different with the emotion of the game.
04:55But certainly important and a big moment for him and us.
04:58I think he just plays his role in the team.
05:18Kobe, I think he's playing next to Casemiro.
05:21I think they've got a really good partnership and kind of complement each other.
05:26Basically, as a midfielder, you're trying to connect the team.
05:28You're trying to bring everything together, whether that's with the ball or without the ball.
05:32He certainly takes the ball.
05:33I think we all realise that.
05:34He'll take the ball everywhere and he'll connect the whole team.
05:37He's not always going to be the one that maybe has the final action.
05:42But he certainly starts a lot of our moves.
05:45He's having a big impact on the team at the moment, which is great to see.
05:49During your play, he's referred to us as the way you like playing with him.
05:53He simply said, I like Monkey Crack because he passes the ball for me.
05:57When you're up against a team, I understand you sat deep.
05:59How hard is it to get the ball for you?
06:01Yeah, it's challenging.
06:02Listen, we're all craving for it.
06:04I'm on the side of the pitch and you're wanting them moments where you can open them up
06:09and you can be really positive.
06:11I think there's that balance as well of a team like that who are so dangerous on transition
06:16and on regains and turnovers with the pace they have and the way they can attack so fast.
06:22There's a real element of getting the balance between risking passes through the middle
06:26or risking a pass to then give away.
06:28As much as you want to go and progress, you've still got to be in a position to manage the game
06:33and have an element of control.
06:35We probably just went a little bit more in terms of the control tonight at times,
06:40but that's something we'll get towards.
06:43The fact that we still scored the goal at the end, I think we can't be too down or too disappointed.
06:50You've got to understand the context of the game and where we're at.
06:52We can still take a lot from the game.
06:55Chris, and then last one for Nathan.
06:57Hi, Michael.
06:58You haven't got to go for a little while now, so I was just wondering what's the plan for next time to be?
07:02Is it staying in Manchester or getting away?
07:04Yeah, I'll stay in Manchester.
07:05I think it's a chance to do a bit of both, refresh a little bit.
07:11A few boys carrying knocks and niggles and a few strains that we can kind of clean up,
07:16as you would expect at this stage of the season, and then obviously do some good work.
07:21I think they do need a little bit of a breather and kind of digest the way we're at, really,
07:26after this period of time, and take a deep breath and then come back, learn from it,
07:31and kind of clear their head and come back stronger again.
07:33So, it'll be a little mixed, but it's a strange one, obviously, 13 days,
07:39but we'll definitely use it and make the most of it.
07:41I think that's a huge part of it.
07:53I think you've got to have that spirit, and then sometimes you've got to find a way.
07:56We all try and want the perfect kind of performance.
08:01Well, not perfect, but the kind of best we can be.
08:06Sometimes it doesn't quite happen, but it doesn't mean you give up.
08:08We obviously went for it.
08:10We went three at the back and the rest all attacking, basically, towards the end
08:15to try and find that goal, and I think that's the way we should do it at that moment,
08:21and we managed to pull it off, so I was delighted with the boys.
08:24Mike, with just on the attack, you've still so much versatility,
08:27especially when Ben's on the net, Brian, the level of Caruno,
08:31how difficult is that to try and find the right balance?
08:34Obviously, Ben knows it's a slightly different game.
08:36Yeah, I think there's a little bit on different games as well and situation in games
08:40and how you want to attack, where the space is or what the game looks like.
08:46You probably didn't quite get the balance right, if we're honest, for the first part of the game,
08:51which happens.
08:53Sometimes teams are allowed to stop you from scoring, so we've just got to find that way,
09:00but we kept going and mixed things up, and because we have got that flexibility,
09:04I think it certainly helps to find different solutions.
09:07Thanks, everyone.
09:08All right.
