Donald Trump criticised Olympian Hunter Hess who said "he did not represent everything going on in the US"

00:00I'm sorry that the headline that is eclipsing the Olympics has to be something so...
00:09unrelated to the spirit of the games. It really runs contrary to everything that the Olympics
00:15should be, right? The whole point of sport is to bring people together in one of very few remaining
00:22common languages, right? That of the human body, that of the human spirit, that of the competitive
00:26spirit, the capacity to break not only records, but especially in our sport, literally the human
00:34limit. Like, how wonderful is that? And so to have such divisive headlines try and make their way into
00:43what is, in my head, a very sacred... And this is one of very few remaining safe spaces that I think
00:51people can communicate and share culture and be fully themselves. Because even if you and I don't
00:57speak the same language, we both know that it hurts when you fall and it feels good when you win,
01:00right? And that we all know how terrifying it is when you're about to try a new trick and how
01:06ecstatic you are when you land it for the first time. That is a universal language. So it makes me
01:13sad to see that that is the headline right now. And as someone who's been caught in the crossfire before,
01:19I feel sorry for the athletes.
