02:00India has taken the lead to establish this International Big Cat Alliance.
02:04Because out of seven big cats, we have five big cats.
02:08And the government of India is doing very well in conservation of these big cats.
02:13India is the largest tiger-range country in the world.
02:16It has more than 70% wild tiger population.
02:20India is one of the largest leopard-range countries in the world.
02:24India has around 14,000 to 15,000 leopards in the wild.
02:28India is the third largest snow leopard country in the world.
02:32India is the only home to Asiatic lion and the lion population in India,
02:36which is found in Gir, Gujarat, is doing very well.
02:39The population is increasing at a very healthy rate.
02:42India had lost Cheetah way back in 1952.
02:48The government of India declared it as extinct in the first International Board of Wildlife meeting,
02:56which took place at Masuru in 1952.
02:58There it was decided that India will bring back the Cheetah.
03:03And after 70 years, we could successfully bring,
03:07we brought Cheetah from Namibia and Africa
03:10and reintroduced successfully.
03:12Now the Cheetah population is doing very well.
