00:00we are here at the 2026 skate Canada trophy novice women's medal presentations and we have
00:10the champion gold medalist from Quebec Tia Hébert congratulations I would like to ask
00:17you about going into the free program today because you were in ninth place after the short
00:21so what were you thinking about going into your free program today was your mind on the podium
00:27or just skating she was coming here aiming for the gold medal so we're not hiding that she wanted
00:46that medal and she was calm and she skated for it so so we also have with us coach Emily who's
00:52going to help translate and make this an easy process for everybody position I think she would
00:57rather do a long program again we will get there so I also want to ask because you competed in this
01:05category last year you were 14 you're also in pre novice year before but what have you learned
01:10coming to these competitions that have prepared you to fight for the gold medal that you wanted
01:27she's saying that she worked a lot on her attitude and the way she's taking on the training and I
01:35guess maturity and staying more calm at competition in general all year long she really worked on that
01:41okay so that was her answer yeah what's your answer to that what did she do she really is we really
01:47matured a lot matured a lot since last year she's really trying to stay calm and focused she's very
01:53determined and she wants to win so sometimes these people they just need to come down a little bit
01:58but she really rose to the occasion those last few months have been very good for her so well that's
02:03a good job good job oh and it's great that it's a learning experience and it pays off for a future
02:08development now do you have a favorite skater or skating idol that you look up to or aspire to
02:14all right and what about her makes it special her jumps her jumps yeah I guess she has a little
02:30bit of tea like determination I would say that so what are your plans now moving forward not just
02:37next year but five years ten years it's Olympic season Olympics she wants to go to the Olympics okay
02:47well I hope one day to see you there and I hope after this weekend we get to continue cheering on our
02:52Canadians at the Olympics for some success in the skating yes okay that's it from the novice women's medal
03:03ceremonies and we have novice men coming up shortly so stick around
