Mark Adams, porte-parole du CIO, s'est exprimé au sujet des manifestations en Italie quant à la présence présumée d'agents de l'ICE sur le terrain lors des JO, auprès de la délégation américaine. Adams affirme : "Loin de moi l'idée de dire que la question a été exagérée mais je pense que le gouvernement américain a assez rapidement clarifié qu'il n'y a pas d'agents de l'ICE sur le terrain comme le suggéraient certains manifestants".
