Four Indian students were among several people injured in a stabbing attack at a hostel of Russia’s Ufa State Medical University in Bashkortostan, the Indian Embassy confirmed. A 15-year-old attacker entered the dormitory with a knife, wounding multiple students before police intervened. Two officers were also stabbed while attempting to arrest the teenager, who later inflicted self-harm and is now hospitalized in serious condition.

Indian officials are traveling from Kazan to Ufa to assist the injured and coordinate medical care. Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes with ambulances rushing victims from blood-stained corridors. Local authorities have launched a high-level investigation into the violence and security arrangements at the university campus.
