00:00Hey guys we just got back from the theaters where we saw send help that's
00:16Sam Raimi's send help and you definitely can tell this is a Sam Raimi film and as
00:25the Sam Raimi film you will get throw up in your face blood blood mucus boogers
00:36phlegm everything flying into your mouth and shit included Wow you know the
00:46trailer might if you don't know it's a Sam Raimi film and you're not familiar
00:49with Sam Raimi films the trailer might trick you you think it's a you know a
00:53standard kind of story about a mean boss who is a piece of shit and a little
01:00old lady who is socially awkward and smelly and kind of you know cringe and they
01:07crash land on an island and they have to freaking survive and that's the trailer
01:12but boy does this film get pretty pretty dark pretty interesting some it spirals
01:20out of control so this is definitely a Sam Raimi film if you're into films like
01:26drag me to hell I think you will love this film if you maybe aren't expecting
01:33something like that then it could catch you off guard but let's go let's go Alex
01:39what did you think of Sam Raimi sorry would you it's pretty good it was pretty
01:43good I understand help I really enjoyed misery and so if you guys don't want to
01:49read it it's a it's a good movie and it's the kind of horror that you know I don't
01:53think we get a whole lot of and so that's kind of like hints I was getting of them
01:58and it's other than this movie I think being a touch long I felt it feels it feels a
02:03little long I think it it's pretty good it's you know I had a pretty good time I
02:08think the premise is interesting enough I think both lead actors did a good job you
02:14know I love out being outdoors and survival stuff and all that stuff and so
02:19like that kind of stuff interests me and then we get the whole Sam Raimi kind of
02:23stuff where you know he can't help himself and no one can tell him no and
02:27they're like are you sure you're gonna put this in this movie and he's like yes
02:29because it's me and yes Danny Elfman does the score which most of the time was
02:34was great and then every now and then it's like this doesn't fit this movie
02:37Danny Elfman what the fuck are you doing but I think I had a I had a pretty
02:41good good time I think it's a pretty good movie I actually did not want to see
02:47this I saw the trailers again it's gonna be stupid but honestly I liked it I
02:50probably liked it a little bit more but this was not what I expected I do like so
02:57it did trick you the trailer trick Joe just in the opposite way yeah because I
03:00knew I've seen the standard oh well my scenes like his films and stuff but I
03:06thought I was like I was expecting a different twist but I liked the way
03:09this turned out I love the shots I love the acting that she did over the top
03:17kind of crazy once we went to the island yeah it's a complete 180 it's almost like
03:22two films where it gets real real dark yeah and Sam Raimi-ish yeah I like the
03:28power dynamic was a quick flip and is I was honestly pretty entertained so I would check
03:35this out in the movie theater I think it's well executed if you like gore if
03:38you like dark comedy slapstick you know there is a problem that I have with it and
03:48that I think it's the same problem I had with drag me to hell I don't want to you
03:54know spoil anything but it's hard there at least in this film there are fewer
03:59characters obviously because we're on an island yeah and so your leads need to be
04:03really good and that's what works here the two leads are really good they play
04:08off each other really well the the the the the fucking boss does that like a
04:14fucking annoying laugh you just want to see this asshole get his comeuppance and
04:19and um and and then same thing for uh what's her what's the actress's name
04:24Rachel she she does a great job and I it but there is a bit of a problem at one point
04:32kind of rooting for a particular you know thing here as we go along yeah that's what I like about it
04:43you're like oh yeah yeah I don't know what to do yeah it gets it gets pretty crazy and
04:48and then I think of it um at a certain point you're gonna have to in your head you're gonna
04:54kind of pick a side and and um the ending and resolution to that I think is going to be satisfying
05:03for a segment of the audience but I think it's a smaller segment of this of the audience that that
05:09might go to something like that but who knows maybe maybe I'm wrong on that um I thought it was
05:14really enjoyable I think that it I like how Sam Raimi is he he's a little dark he he he's a little uh
05:22mean uh sometimes with with his film if you've seen like you know some of the recent stuff uh like
05:29Drag Me to Hell and stuff like that and that comes through here and it is um
05:34it's entertaining like Joe said uh I was engaged like how are they going to get through this
05:41uh how is this going to end and the twists and turns are actually pretty good now there it does
05:48spin its wheels a little bit because it's so long at a certain point when they're doing their island
05:55adventure I think she said they've been on the island for like you know a week or two or a few weeks
06:01and and it was you could yeah I agree with Alex on that point like if uh they would have cut trim some
06:07of the one they whenever they start building their second base just kind of do the first base and then
06:13go from there yeah I think it would have been a little bit tighter yeah um the the chemistry was
06:19great between the two characters that's that's really what matters it has a strong opening but as we go
06:26into that territory I think it's going to lose a lot of people a segment of the audience who are
06:32going to not see it coming and and kind of be annoyed with the uh the message here I can already
06:42see it's fine I think it's I know what I'm talking about yeah yeah I know what you're talking about
06:46but I think that Sam Raimi's whole thing is to make people feel something yeah if he can't make you
06:51feel something right easy he's gonna make you feel uncomfortable the first 10-15 minutes of this
06:56movie are uncomfortable like you feel cringe watching this woman because she is very socially
07:02awkward yeah and I'm just like ah and I felt uncomfortable and then stuff happens and you
07:07feel uncomfortable and then he makes you feel uncomfortable like you mentioned with blood and
07:10gore and sinew and phlegm and barf and then more barf and then blood and it's just like there are the
07:18those are the scenes so it's like at the very least you're gonna feel something watching this
07:21movie this isn't the kind of movie where you're like that's the hero it's like everyone in this
07:27no one in this movie gets out clean figuratively and literally it's real dirty and so it's like
07:32I like that and so it's like sometimes it can be ambiguous and not everyone is gonna be you know
07:38prince charming or that kind of thing and these characters can be complex and sometimes it's nice
07:43watching these complex characters uh have horrible things happen to them yep yep it is uh uh kind of
07:50uh it continues the uh the sort of uh toxic workplace that she was in at the beginning that you know it
08:01kind of continues as we go along into the island it's really fun and uh maybe some of the explanations
08:09like how does rachel mcadams character know how to do all this stuff maybe it's a a little weak but
08:16i think you could buy it because she reads a ton she's a bookworm i'm willing to forgive that she
08:22loves survivor joe she's so good at surviving because she watches all 47 seasons and she's reading the
08:31books did you know there's 47 seasons of survivor i did not know that but i was okay with that because
08:36she did read the books and she does travel a lot she likes the great outdoors so she has some
08:43experience she was set up well enough yeah i think it was you see the pictures and i loved her uh her
08:48entry yeah to survivor yeah they show that video that they did i was like okay that was i i hate bullies
08:55and i hate these mean fucking assholes as they're making fun of her and her entry into survivor and guess
09:03what happens you motherfuckers you need a person like that that is so satisfying but then what
09:10happens later in the film i think you know some people are going to be like what like i think i
09:16think us three liked it but we're curious at how other people might receive it i was wrong joe 49
09:22seasons of survivor completed survivors i honestly never seen any of them you didn't see
09:28one i saw one did you see one oh okay it was i love survival shows but that that yeah i'm more
09:35to like that making it afraid and all that alone uh yes survivor man was so good like way back in
09:41the day and then there i think i think it's what what what makes it like i know well man i think it's
09:48brave what makes it interesting is that it explores sides of of human nature that they don't really
09:55explore in a lot of movies um i mean they do but as our main characters uh and what happens towards
10:05the end it's like huh i see what this was you know so we'll ah i don't i'm trying to stay away from
10:13spoilers but it gets more the climax is a good climax yeah and the characters are complex and so
10:19they're not they're like i think what you're trying to get to is like there's some there's some things
10:23about you know some of the situations and the what what happens and it's not yeah it's not clean
10:28there's multiple layers so it's bradley preston as the ceo you know he has multiple layers to him
10:36and you're slowly unraveling these layers as you're going along and so it makes your initial impression
10:42of him it complicates your feelings for how you're rooting you you're either rooting for one side or the
10:47other that's how the film is set up to for you to root for somebody and uh it it questions uh some
10:55things and linda little is her uh you know name and she's the you know uh cringy lady uh socially
11:02awkward survival enthusiast but has a past herself and that unfolds um and uh because the film i wonder
11:12this thing must have been pretty cheap to make because it's just you know just these two there are some
11:16side characters here and there that you see but mostly it's it's on an eye on an island so um did
11:23you catch that i think bruce campbell was yeah i was gonna say that's his that was his father father
11:29bradley's father bruce campbell and sam raimi if you don't know as a portrait in the back you see
11:33yeah exactly um evil evil dead but um okay well i i guess if you if you love um you know survival
11:44films if you like a little dark humor if you don't mind all the blood gut shit and and and uh vomit
11:52going into people's mouth like sam has an obsession with i don't know why he loves to do it but he
11:56doesn't the cgi is a little hokey when we start going hunting boars and stuff doesn't look and sam is
12:03known for his wild cameras that'll come in and come out and he does that kind of stuff and it it kind of
12:10clashes sometimes with the the scenic survival reality show kind of look to it and then it turns
12:17into this but uh it's interesting and i think it will keep you um engaged and invested the whole way
12:23through it's just do you agree with the ending uh do you like that ending or not uh for me i was mad
12:31at the drag me to hell ending and you know it kind of spoiled that film for me so i'm wondering if this
12:37ending will spoil the film for some people so uh let's give it final verdicts i'm gonna go i'm i was
12:45juggling between seven or eight but i i actually do like this movie i think it's i think it's a solid
12:50movie um he did restrain his because one of my criticisms of him is sometimes he doesn't know when
12:56to hold back the goofiness and he's taking his movie real seriously and then someone you know something
13:00crazy slapstick happens and there's none of that here so you didn't think it ever crossed the line
13:05it never did because i mean it's it's it's humorous but it's never like he's not trying to be funny
13:11like he's not trying oh and drag me down yeah so i think he did a i think he did a good job um and i i
13:17i actually like the way the ending kind of worked out and i like i like the characters and everything
13:22so i'm gonna go with an eight i think that this is a surprising you know normal you know fuck you
13:28it's january because it's oh fuck it's january it's probably the best one in here yeah horror
13:33movies in january are like the lowest of the low garbage and i this is more like a thriller than
13:38horror but but still good good movie yes i agree with that one i was gonna go with an eight as well
13:44you should definitely go check it out i had a great time watching it um i don't really recall what
13:50else we saw because it wasn't really that what else did we should have seen that jason stathan
13:55movie where he plays x special forces right next door because joe i want to know what happens
14:00because he's x special forces but he gets dragged back into a life that he left behind
14:03does he beat people up and win in the end do you think he beats people up and win in the end
14:08oh yeah yeah yeah no no we have to see you have to see it to be sure i'm waiting for let's stop
14:12because i love jason stathan but i'm gonna eventually see that i would watch it it's gonna be the janitor
14:17it's like oh the janitor yeah it has special forces the transporter joe uh but yes uh eight definitely
14:23go check this out i really enjoyed it great acting gate uh great chemistry i like the twist and i like
14:30the message i was i was satisfied at the end yeah i i think i'm happy sam raimi's still doing stuff
14:37because you could definitely tell when it's one of his films yes and his films you know it's unlike
14:42other directors so he has a unique voice a unique vision for his stuff and i really enjoy it um you
14:50know whether i like the ending or not i like the film as a whole because it's like you know sometimes
14:55it goes a certain way and um yeah entertaining dark comedy good good at the end and unsettling
15:05and a little
15:07interesting good concept good concept because this is happening all the time everybody has an asshole boss
15:16everybody gets fucking you know passed over at work and and so i'm glad that that that this exists
15:24and so i'm gonna go with a final verdict man see i'm between a seven or an eight it really depends on
15:29you know i have to mull over that that ending that's where i was i'm not for the ending but i
15:35was just like i i but you know honestly i just think in the end i was other than the fact that
15:40its runtime was a little long for me yeah um but i was i was satisfied i think it's got i think if i
15:47look at this as probably the best film in january so far we're at the end of january i'm gonna give it
15:53that bump i'll go eight out of ten all right guys so that's a recommendation for us to go see this we
15:59think you'll be entertained either way so let's go talk about that ending and what happens in the

16:16hey guys welcome to the spoiler section so whoo this as this thing unravels uh at first we get um
16:40rachel's character linda who is being bullied and i fucking hate this guy he does such a good job
16:48of being the sniveling fucking asshole yeah bullies people yeah not just that like it doesn't respect
16:57her it feels like she's also trying too hard because like these co-workers are talking about
17:01going out and she kind of like forces herself we've all been oh yeah like i want to do this like
17:06uh there's that awkward it's very awkward you're just trying to like you feel it walk away he's
17:12he's trying to keep the conversation going it's just i feel bad for it at certain you feel bad for
17:18now uh but they do they it ping pongs back and forth because like bradley is is a giant piece of shit
17:24and then you know after the the accident happens you they survive for a bit of time but then he's like
17:29hey i was pretty much abused by my mother my father i was i had no parents and like all of these other
17:35things and she's like oh okay so i understand why you're this piece of shit but you're still a
17:39piece of shit but then she lets slip that she's kind of she's one had a little bit of a mean streak
17:44on the thing too and so she's like it's not just retaliatory it's revealed that she's a piece of
17:50shit too yeah they're both so all of this stuff where oh we're rooting for i'm gonna root for the
17:55victim here there's no there's no victim they're both monsters yeah and in a battle between two
18:03monsters one monster is going to win she's more private about it like no one knows her little
18:08secret she lets slip when she makes toilet wine which i love i knew you would like that yeah i
18:13thought it was delicious though so rachel make adam see you know she's all hunched over they try to make
18:19her look ugly with they put in their little molds on her and stuff but if she's over here this this
18:25woman's attractive and she's like yeah you want to go to the party like yes let's go let's go to the
18:28party but no you know they have to play it up for that so they they make her small weak and meek
18:33yeah and he looks down on her he brings in supermodels he wants he's got a supermodel hot
18:39fiance and then he's interviewing a chick and he's like how far would you go above and beyond so you
18:44can tell this guy's a dick he probably is going to cheat on his fiance and he passes her over for her
18:50promotion his father who died and passed away promised that she would become vp vice president of some
18:58particular strategic plan and she legitimately does the work in fact one asshole donnie or something
19:05like that they're frat bros that's that's the guy who uh got promoted yeah and they're golf buddies and
19:12he basically rips her name off the thing and goes into the thing and like yeah put this again you
19:16motherfucker so you're instantly on her side until later on you realize that her uh now you could still
19:24be on her side because it's more complex than that because she does mention that her husband huge
19:30piece of shit huge piece of shit he was abusive to her so she really it's not like she kills her
19:36husband she basically he drinks a lot and he's going out one night and you she usually hides the
19:43keys and this time he was so abusive that she's like oh here are your keys and here's a big last drink
19:49yeah so she didn't kill him but she said he helped it along she's helping it along and then then you
19:55realize it's like oh this is this kind of thing and then one of the very next or immediately before
19:59this she sees a boat and she hides because she doesn't want to be rescued so she's having the time
20:03of her life uh she's good at this she's in a position of power too she's she's finally the boss
20:09yeah and like so she gets to lord over this guy so this these two things are horrible right
20:16but i can kind of forgive her and i can still be on her side where she crosses the line she
20:23definitely crosses the line and they do it in the sam raimi style crossing the line as well
20:30later on but uh before we get there uh you know the plane crashes they never really explain what
20:38happened to the plane i assume maybe a bird hit the engine i thought maybe they would reveal oh she
20:44sabotaged the plane the whole time because she's fucking crazy because they were kind of hinting
20:47that she might be a monster too but no it never went that far i just chalked it up to the storm
20:52because it's a bad storm storm yeah and uh but the side of the plane rips off for no fucking reason
20:57you know that something has to make like that hole before it can rip off in just one section of the
21:02plane whatever all the frat boys get sucked out of the fucking plane except for uh the uh ceo who had
21:09previously said oh y'all are pussies for you know wearing seatbelts even though he's got a seatbelt
21:14on he's the only one who refuses so they want to show him a youtube video to embarrass her and so
21:19they all he's like no you guys come to me i'm the ceo so he actually is the only one never gonna have
21:23a seat which is why his seatbelt's still on the plane crashes in the water uh she manages to escape
21:29uh in fact the friend boys are like grab her and try to like give me your seat so it gives her a reason
21:34to like attack them as they're trying to attack her they're just pieces of shit and they die she
21:39doesn't she survives and well i like the scene as well because like it's a sam raimi moment because
21:45he's like give me your seat he's like no stabs him and then he gets sucked out but it's suspenders
21:50that he's been wearing all right it's stuck so he was just he sees him like just here banging his head
21:56against blood everywhere he's like oh help me do something and does it make sense no physics would
22:02write the fucking time but we don't care we don't care she just closes the blind or she just closes
22:08the window she's like help me he's like that's that dark humor that great humor it is and uh crash
22:14lands now she wakes up and immediately starts her survivor adventure eventually he washes up on shore
22:20too and she takes care of him and he's pretty appreciative at first yeah he's annoyed because it's the
22:27cringy lady uh but eventually he he does say thank you but that really only lasts for a few hours
22:34because he's just i'm the boss he's yeah go ahead he's in his legs busted up real bad and so it's
22:40like he's in a rough spot and then he starts to try to micromanage he's like what have you done to
22:45signal for help like what have you done this have you done this and she's keeping us alive yeah she's
22:50keeping alive but he he sees that she's having a good time and so it's it is kind of weird and so
22:56you know then then he starts to micromanage she's like look this isn't okay and they get into a fight
23:01and she says okay and fucking leaves and she abandons him there for a full day he like fires her as well
23:09she's like yeah so she leaves him and sam does a great job of passage of time where he's trying to
23:15deal with this he's like fine go go and then he's like slowly panning around and he's getting worse
23:22getting like fucking cotton mouth he's like oh god come back um and this goes on for quite a while she
23:29eventually comes back and tries to lay down the law she's like we're not in the office anymore
23:33but as this goes along he notices thing she's having the time of her life she's making fucking straw hats
23:39and backpacks and fucking she's she's great at this right and he just wants to leave
23:44um as alex said as she's hunting this boar we get our first sam raimi that's when the sam raimi
23:49slams you in the face because when she stabs the boar it doesn't just oh we stab it and we win no
23:56the boar gets stabbed it's coming at her and it wakes back up and blood goes everywhere when she
24:03snot and then snot and then mucus and then green boogers and and vomit and piss and shit
24:10everything into her face and i'm like this is excessive but this is what sam loves to do i don't
24:15know why they live on the island for a little bit of time but then we start to spin our wheels a
24:20little bit they get into a fight again yeah and this time he's like fuck it i'll go make my own camp
24:2520 yards that way and so he leaves camp and then goes over there and they have this whole thing where
24:30he's realizing again once again that she knows what she's doing and he doesn't it's not a bad scene
24:36it's just like this happens like three times in the movie i think it's one time too many it's juicy
24:42though because she's making fucking sushi she's got sauces we're on a fucking island and she's got
24:51different sauces and mango delicacies and fruits and all sorts of stuff and he has to basically humble
24:57himself again but this time in in an outward way in a slow drawn out painful way eventually he does and
25:05she lets him eat and stuff um fast forward a bit and as she's going through the island one time he
25:11takes a walk with her and she's like you see that x mark over there i've already been in that direction
25:16and there are bushes and things that did rip your flesh rip your flesh off just don't go over there
25:22and he believes her at that moment because she's the survivalist that's when i started thinking is
25:26is there there's got to be a resort reason not not oh yeah i thought it was a resort too yeah i was
25:31like they're gonna be a resort running around that would have been a good twist too yeah but then i
25:36thought about it too he's like no because if it's a resort there would hurt people so what they did was
25:42fine so uh eventually uh they hike up a mountain she's getting a big view and uh and she slips uh and
25:50and he saves her so at this point she has saved him and now he has saved her he's like you know she's
25:57like he said i owe you one and they're even uh but you know this is when she starts to basically get
26:05so comfortable that she doesn't want to leave and she actually doesn't want him to leave either well
26:10he's she's also at this point i think admitted that she is kind of responsible for the death of her
26:16husband yeah it's kind of a big deal she's like i really don't want to go back and like i you know
26:21they know that like their lives will be real real interesting so um yeah and yeah uh and and so
26:29eventually uh the boat that she first saw and she didn't wait she at first runs to it and then she
26:35holds it because she's like not yet i think she wants to teach him a lesson and she and at first she's
26:41like we'll do this a little longer but she starts to get crazy where she's like this is all we need
26:46and so it gets darker and darker and darker eventually his fiance with the huge engagement ring
26:54comes and finds him she's got a local guide and she's like hi and then she's like oh no and she's
27:01like hi that's crazy and it's a uncomfortable scene and she's like where is my uh you know fiance it's
27:09funny yeah funny scene because like she's there picking up mangoes then we kind of get introduced
27:15and she's like we've been looking for you the search has been called off but i still continued
27:19i'm glad i found she's like oh this way the guy's like trying to help her with the backpack with
27:23mangoes she slaps him he's like oh you must like mangoes he's like i have plenty of mangoes and fruits
27:29it's like yeah just before this she uh he tried to poison her because he really wants to escape
27:37and so he puts a bunch of poison berries in her food he wants to cook for her and then so she you
27:43know falls over and she can't move and he pulls the secret raft out and goes out into the ocean
27:47and then she has to save him again because he's an idiot and so with a blue ring octopus she
27:52paralyzes him yeah and pretends to cut his balls off and squirts him in the face with blood and all
27:58this stuff and yeah like he's paralyzed and he's he's like fake screaming and they're doing what he
28:03can but then she shows him it's a rat she's like next time it won't be a rat and i'll fucking
28:06cut your nuts off that was intense and then so she's pretty much subjugated him and she's like
28:11you know he hasn't talked to her in days and that's when the fiancee shows up so she really
28:15she can't rescue be rescued now so she takes him on the train she goes let's go to shortcut up the
28:22mountain she keeps figuring out that they're solo they're isolated they don't you know you know
28:28they people don't know and so she lets the fiancee go to the edge where she fell one time and he
28:35saved her she falls the guide grabs her the guide is struggling to get her and they both scream for
28:41her to help and she steps backward and backward and she essentially initially it looks like she
28:47lets them fall and she's really torn up about it but this is when she crosses the line for me i'm like
28:53nope i can't root for her anymore right um but it's also revealed she goes beyond that she actually
29:00picks up a rock and fucking hits this poor man who brought you mangoes and fruit and he was just
29:06trying to help and that motherfucker falls and then of course the fiancee falls and then we do a sam
29:12ramey zombie thing where you know she's i guess dreaming that uh her fiancee washed up on shore and
29:20she's doing the zombie thing and like linda linda but then when he's going out he actually finds
29:28linda this is dumb this is him this is that hyper realism where it's like almost like a fake world
29:36in world that sam does sometimes so she's buried and you have the fucking engagement ring and he
29:43freaks out and suddenly you know he doesn't care about his limp he is running full sprint and this
29:50man is bigger than linda and you think he's gonna go and kick her ass apparently he took the um uh the
29:56ring as well and he's like where you been and and she's like nowhere nothing and what's this shows it
30:04off and then she realizes that he knows and then she goes for a knife but he had already taken the knife
30:10from her then she she takes off running yeah because she said it was she slipped i was gonna tell you it was
30:16like no i don't believe you i don't believe you and then that's when the person so then when she turns
30:21into the villain she's essentially the the villain well she had already done several things to become
30:26the villain so this is actually a story of a villain main character she's like misery a little bit and so
30:36the guy's chasing her down and he uh what happens here he lures her and so he finds the forest fight
30:44in a clearing yeah and so she tries to choke him with shoelaces and then like he rips up part of
30:49her scalp yep and uh she's gouges her eye poking her eye out all the eyes popping out look fake as
30:57fuck and then she takes off and they take off running right she stabs him with a knife and he at this
31:04point is going to go into the area that he shouldn't and he realizes in this area boom there's a
31:10billionaire's house just right there on the mountains and he goes and he banging on the door to see if
31:16somebody's there actually gains access goes inside opens a fridge fully stocked with waters and all the
31:22fruits some of the fruits they've been eating and then i know it a month he's like what the fuck grabs a knife but
31:28there's no knives and that's when she comes in over the intercom and it turns out she found this house
31:34already a long time ago she's like that's where the knife came from you dummy knives don't wash up
31:38don't wash up on shore you stupid fucking and and she is a villain at this point and she is just like
31:45taunting him with the fucking intercom as he's walking in the house and she eventually uh shows up
31:53with a shotgun and he begs for his life yeah i thought this part was kind of weak uh because we
32:00had set her up like i don't think she's brilliant but like he's like oh i eventually get to the point
32:04after he's groveling he's like i love you we can be here together and like this does not i don't buy
32:09it i don't buy that she buys it right yeah well she's like she lets her guard down and she's like
32:14putting the gun down but then she realizes that one of the horn that's you know a stabbing weapon is
32:19missing yeah and then that's when you know they they fight some more but you know there's no
32:23indication that she really wants him in that way and wants him to love her so that's why because she
32:30thinks he's a piece of shit he thinks she he's she's below him there is at one point where he gets
32:35naked and you see his butt and he's like washing himself and she didn't want to date him at the
32:40beginning of the movie did she yeah because he's like oh he hit on me that one time i guess he was
32:44drunk probably and he's single and it would be great and okay so i guess they did set it up but
32:49i just i didn't buy that particular part of it uh meanwhile he lowers her guard and uh tries to
32:56attack her with a bullhorn and uh he overpowers her grabs a shotgun and shoots her but it just clicks
33:06there's that didn't work she planned it she apparently planned that part out that there was no bullets in
33:12there yeah so she grabbed one of the clubs from up top and starts hitting him and then hits him in the
33:16fucking side where he's already on the ground i like the slow transition she just like does a golf swing
33:22on his head and then she's playing it's a year later so it turns out she wins essentially she's been
33:29rescued she murdered him not only did she murder the ceo dude who's an asshole and it's like fine
33:36whatever but she murders his fiancee she murders a poor old innocent man with the mangoes did you
33:44notice a ring on her finger i fucking hate her no she swallows the ring so that's what i thought i
33:49thought for sure that she would like at the end of the movie she would shit it out or something or
33:53it would kill her put it on her finger or something because then she got what she because she coveted the
33:57ring every time she saw it too really so i did not notice the ring so i was over here about to tell
34:02people that the ring is probably still inside her somewhere it's been a year later it's it goes
34:08it has been a year later yeah so you're saying she was wearing it no i wanted to i wanted to know
34:13if you guys had noticed because i no i guess she must have hit it uh because that's that's the single
34:18tie to uh the crime and everything that she's done here anyways she survived everybody knows her
34:24story she's the real survivor girl she's got a movie deal she's got a book deal uh on survival
34:30stuff and probably running the company and all that she wins she probably she doesn't need to
34:34run the company she's already got all her money and and that's how it ends yeah uh honestly that's
34:42why i was like i i didn't mind it because i did like that line when they're sitting down it's like
34:46monsters are created and they're talking about their stories so it's like it's a product of what
34:51happened with both of them it's like she was just better bigger monster exactly so i was like i was
34:57okay with either one you're okay with either one winning yeah okay and it ends up being the
35:02goal because we're gonna think oh this is stupid this is female empowerment this is unrealistic the
35:07guy would totally beat her up and kill her and i i can see several people leaving the theater upset
35:13at that kind of stuff but it really there's not a lot to be mad at something i think yes it's like
35:19it's not overly the guy's still gonna be a piece of shit he's still a monster that's who he is and
35:23he never changed throughout the whole thing that's who she was like alex said she was better at
35:28covering it up yeah if you look at it as they're both monsters and one monster wins in the end and
35:34she's a fucking monster she's a villain at this point full on full turn you know the smile the smiling
35:39at the end it's like jason so she can go along with ghostface and all these other killers uh that if
35:45you end up on a on a fucking don't be on the bad side survival island get on her good side
35:50yeah just stay on her good side exactly you're probably gonna live there for a long time
35:55and but uh well taken care of but not me because i don't want to eat the sushi well taken care of
36:02well he eats his fish she cooks the fish i'm like this looks delicious i'm ready and and i look over
36:08at the guy is eating like a little baby i'm like joe that's you he's like yeah let's see if i had to
36:14eat fish on a survival island because joe doesn't eat the fish but um they did have boar and they said
36:20it was fucking delicious and it was the most delicious meat they've ever had and if you're a
36:24survivor on an island and you finally get pork you're like mmm this is delicious um so yeah it was
36:32mean and gross uh he you know when he tries to gouge her eye out you see the cgi is like kind of
36:40popping out uh but she barfs on his face three times oh i forgot about this so he poisons her
36:47because he's trying to escape with the raft i like this scene though but like because once he
36:52poisoned her he has this stupid little laugh he starts running with a boat but he has no idea what
36:58it's cute but he has no idea what he's doing but he's like i'm a ceo but he's fucking clueless
37:04and so he immediately goes out there and like the third wave just destroys the first wave hits him
37:09and he's like ha ha i won and then the next wave actually growl sam ramey made the next week
37:16so he gets back and then she saves him and as she's looking down on him like doing chest compressions
37:22she's just barfing orange and green all over his face and then again and then again and he oh
37:29because she had poisoned him that's right so she's vomiting him over and over and she's giving him
37:34mouth to mouth so sam gets two projectile vomits and mucus and blood into their mouth so good on you
37:40sam i don't know what your thing is but crazy let it continue crazy movie i hope he gets to do another
37:47one not not in this franchise this is a one and done but just more of his style because this was
37:53cool it was an interesting take and i liked it at the end and uh we'll see did you like the end
37:59do you like would you rather have uh gotten i don't think anybody's like i want the dude to win right
38:06yeah because i mean maybe there are some people but i was thinking that there would be some kind of
38:12compromise or something and when and as soon as he was like i love you and you and i and she's like
38:18i love you too and i'm like no that wouldn't be because that's one particular direction they can go
38:24they can go full on then they're fucked up together and they're monsters and they live happily ever after
38:30and he never really cared about his fiancee so it doesn't matter that she killed him but i wouldn't
38:34have liked it i probably would have lowered the score with an ending like that he was trying to
38:39manipulate her and i i just didn't like the fact that she looked even appeared to be buying it i
38:43wanted to be like oh yeah oh you love me do you and just like and then you know hit him in the mouth
38:48with the shotgun yeah exactly but another unbelievable thing they were there for like forever
38:52and the guy's facial hair still stayed yeah nice and trim but if you trump some people can't grow
38:58facial hair they obviously can and yeah i can't but if you're doing it as a as a killer story
39:06then then the killer's loose out there by the end of the film it works yeah what happens in in in
39:12um mercy or not mercy um oh god um which oh misery misery oh uh any does does the lady get away
39:23yeah okay okay i i don't remember you should watch killers out there somewhere yeah you should watch
39:29misery i didn't i didn't mean to spoil misery for those of you who haven't seen misery but we are in
39:33a spoiler set in the 90s and i really wanted to know yeah go watch go watch it so it is so it is
39:39misery basically his own take on that yeah kind of thing he's going if you go in expecting that then
39:45you'll then you'll you'll get it yeah um but he definitely gets his comeuppings perhaps a little too
39:51much comeuppings and that's that's the point that she is also a monster yeah and his monster
