00:00Here we are with 2026 Skate Canada Trophy, Pre-Novice Pairs, Champions, Leah Northway and Aidan Armstrong.
00:16I wanted to make sure I got the names right. Congratulations.
00:19Thank you so much. Thank you so much.
00:21So, first of all, I want to talk about yesterday's Skate, the short program.
00:25Yes.
00:25Tell me about that.
00:25I think we were overall very happy.
00:31We were very happy.
00:32A little step out on the axle, but otherwise, like big PBs and this competition has been great.
00:38Okay, so then going into the free skate today, what was your mindset? What were you thinking about?
00:44Honestly, there's really just nothing to lose. This is the last competition of the season, so just give it everything you've got.
00:50Yeah, and considering that we were in third, you know, we were just super happy that we were just able to get a whole bunch of PBs and skate clean as we could have.
00:59Okay.
00:59Best you could.
01:00Yeah.
01:00Best you could.
01:01Yeah, exactly.
01:02Best is what you needed.
01:04So, you competed in this event last year.
01:07Yes, we did.
01:07And you came 10th.
01:09Right.
01:09Which is fine.
01:10There's nothing wrong with that.
01:11I want to know a little bit about what you learned from that and what you worked on this year to get ready for the season.
01:19It's a few.
01:20I don't mind.
01:21Honestly, last year, I think that going into it, we had really no expectations, as we did just switch coaches to our new coach, Marie, which has trained us a lot and has put us in such a great spot and where we are now, which is just amazing.
01:36And she's definitely trained us so that we were working a lot on our performance and our PC scores, which I think was really improved this year.
01:46And, yeah, overall, just, like, cleaning everything up.
01:50Well, Marie did a great job.
01:54So, moving forward then.
01:55Yes.
01:56What are your goals, aspirations?
01:59What are you looking forward to in the next few years?
02:01That's a very good question.
02:02Yeah.
02:03That's why I don't know ourselves.
02:05We don't know ourselves.
02:06We're hopefully planning next year, if everything goes well, to move into novice.
02:10Okay.
02:11We're planning on moving into novice and continuing to just work on a whole bunch of, like, positive D&D and hopefully working on some new elements, like, throw triples, double twists, harder lifts.
02:21Yeah.
02:22Everything that we'll work on during the off-season.
02:23What are your favorite elements to do?
02:26Ooh, it's hard.
02:28I really like throws.
02:30I think throws are a lot of fun.
02:31Yeah, I think our throws are really solid.
02:32And our side-by-side jumps, too.
02:33And side-by-side jumps, yeah.
02:34Both single skaters still, too.
02:36Yeah.
02:36Yeah.
02:37At heart.
02:37Yeah.
02:38At heart.
02:38Yeah.
02:39And in practice.
02:40All right, well, I'm looking forward to watching you next year in novice.
02:43Thank you so much.
02:44And your continued development and success over the years.
02:47Thank you so much.
02:48And we look forward to seeing you and more skating and medals coming up.
