00:00He is the son of the legendary Robin Van Persie, but who is Shaquille Van Persie?
00:03Born on November 16, 2006 in London, at a time when his father was still playing for Arsenal,
00:08He will very quickly immerse himself in football.
00:10His training began in 2015 with Manchester City,
00:12then a stint in Türkiye at Fenerbahce between 2015 and 2017,
00:16then following in his father's footsteps.
00:18In the summer of 2017, Shaquille moved to the Netherlands.
00:20and will then join Feyenoord's training center,
00:23which is the club where Robin Van Persie was trained.
00:24A powerful, left-footed striker, standing 1.86 meters tall.
00:27He distinguished himself very quickly in the youth teams.
00:30In October 2020, he attracted national attention for the first time.
00:33after a spectacular acrobatic volley against Ajax in U15.
00:36And this gesture will become a bit of a symbol of his profile.
00:38He's a player who will develop a goalscoring instinct.
00:40a player with excellent timing, who knows how to position himself,
00:43and who wants to and who might be a true number 9 on the pitch.
00:46His performances were confirmed with Feyenoord's U16 and then U17 teams.
00:49and in May 2022, at only 15 years old,
00:51He will sign his first professional contract with Feyenoord.
00:54Captain in the youth ranks, regularly decisive,
00:56He will be called up to the Dutch U16 and U17 national teams.
00:59and in 2025, when his father is the coach of Feyenoord,
01:02He will join the professional group.
01:04And that, initially, in the Netherlands, isn't going to go down too well.
01:06because some Dutch people will think he's showing a little bit of favoritism, etc.
01:09and that he will prefer his son to perhaps a player who will be better than him.
01:12Except that Robin van Persie is clear,
01:14At home, he's his son; at the club, he's his player.
01:17Shaquille will then gradually begin to come on towards the end of the match.
01:19whether in the Eredivisie or the Europa League.
01:21January 18, 2026 will mark a tournament in his career.
01:24He will come on as a substitute against Sparta in Rotterdam.
01:26and will score his first two professional goals within two minutes.
01:29And he's going to score a goal and an acrobatic bicycle kick in two minutes.
01:33Despite the club's defeat,
01:34The criticism of Shaquille will gradually disappear.
01:36except that unfortunately, at the end of January 2026,
01:39His progress will be severely hampered by a serious injury in the Europa League.
01:41against Betis Seville on the knee.
01:43Now, young Shaquille will have to do two things.
01:45The first step is to recover from this ordeal.
01:46and the second, start writing your first name beyond your last name.
