00:00Did you always want to become an actor?
00:02No, I mean, I was always very creatively inclined.
00:05I was an assistant director for a couple of years.
00:08I'd assisted on this film with Shai Kapoor and Jirriliya Dasuza called Chance Pidans.
00:12Aao Vishkare and during that process, you know, because it's very cool.
00:15And I'm like, let's give it a shot.
00:17When you sort of had your own fair share of setbacks,
00:21everybody asked you to sort of use your mother's name.
00:25They wanted me to rename myself as Tanoj Agni Otari.
00:28I believe that your famous parent can only get you so far.
00:33My first two, three films did not work at the box office.
00:36I was in box office, jail.
00:38Malburi said, I signed inside it because if I didn't have my back against the wall,
00:43then that opportunity would not have presented itself.
00:45I would be doing films.
00:46What is that one misconception that people have about star kids?
00:50They think we get everything served on a platter.
00:53They expect you to be as good as what your mom or your dad is in the 10th or 20th film.
00:58So, it's very difficult to compare but people do comparison.
01:01You gave India its first bad boy cricketer, Vayuragavan.
01:06Yeah.
01:07How much of a resemblance do you have with him?
01:10So, I was in a different space in my life.
01:11So, you could say that there were certain parallels between my character and where I was at that point in time.
01:16I, in fact, joke with a lot of my friends that Vayuragavan is my best imaginary friend.
01:22Tell me, who's your favourite co-star by far?
01:24I think maybe Siddharth Chaturveri.
01:26Suryatvik Anjani is a dear friend of mine.
01:27We've done a very nice show together called Cartel.
01:30What is that one trait of fatherhood that you've aced now?
01:34I know how to make my daughter smile and laugh.
01:37One thing I struggle with is…
01:40Tell me about your mom.
01:41Yeah.
01:42She's worked with Gulrajni Khan.
01:44Absolutely.
01:44Amitabh Bachchan sir and Amitabh Bachchan sir.
01:46Yeah.
01:47Did she give you any like acting advice?
01:49Do you have to have emotions like this?
01:51Do you have to do that?
01:52Nothing?
01:53Not about the craft itself.
01:55About how one should conduct themselves in this industry.
02:04Gracias.
02:05No.
02:06But do you have to do it, I test it out.
02:11But of course, that's this
02:20thing I do, and if we are arguing about this
02:23stamp of mine, we have to do it.
02:27And to do it, we're going to defend this event
02:29And to do it personally, we're talking about
02:32들린 another day, say his self-tailty
