Everton boss David Moyes on the challenges of a trip to Craven Cottage to face Fulham and his praise for Marco Silva
Finch Farm, Liverpool, UK
Transcript
00:00This game's a good marker for that level and points, as I make it, there's six clubs
00:03who are separated by just three points, pushing up towards 6th, 7th place in the table.
00:08Yeah, Fulham have done really well. They didn't start the season awfully well,
00:11but they've certainly picked up. Marco's done a great job, as he's done it at all his clubs,
00:17and they're a good side, Fulham, so it'll not be an easy game.
00:22Good luck.
00:23Thanks, Vinny. We'll go to Simon at Premier League Productions.
00:25Hello again. I seem to have visions of you having good memories against Fulham,
00:31whether it be at home or down there, winning as a player, as a manager,
00:36and your first game in charge when you came back here as well.
00:40What are your memories of that?
00:42Well, it's a memory that I'll never go away with. My first game back here,
00:46or my first game here, I should say, not back here. My first game here, I had Fulham,
00:50and David Unsworth scores after about 20 seconds or something, and it was amazing.
00:55Because we were in a difficult position there, a relegation position,
00:59and we went on to beat Fulham. And to be fair, over the years, even at Preston North End,
01:03we had big, big battles with Fulham. Fulham topped us. I think Tegana was the manager,
01:08and over the years, we did. I think one of the games, we beat them down there.
01:12So, a long time ago that now, it seems. But no, look, it's always been, I think Fulham have continued to grow as a football club,
01:22and I think they're built, and they're certainly a really well-established Premier League club now.
01:27Like this one, it feels like, I want to use that expression, like a proper old-school football club,
01:32even the ground when you go in now, is those traditions, don't they?
01:35It's a terrific stadium, and I think everybody who goes there will tell you that.
01:41And they've done a lot of work to make it better as well, with the new stand they've got as well.
01:46But I think just the feeling of going to sort of west end of London, the cottage and all that,
01:51it's always a sort of iconic stadium, I think, for people who've been around the Premier League.
