03:12that we had no idea how this would turn out.

03:19Whittled down like a set of home-carved chess pieces,
03:22the bunch got smaller and smaller.
03:25But then, the winner of the Tour of Amman
03:27for the last two years, Adam Yates,
03:29and with him, a two-pronged Jayco duo,
03:31Mauro Schmidt and Lucas Platt.
03:34This was at 5km to go,
03:35as the gradients of Algisa punished.
03:38Away they went, the three musketeers,
03:40and away they stayed.
03:44Coming into the final straight,
03:46and Platt was at the back.
03:47He had worked hard with one of his best friends
03:49in the pro peloton, Mauro Schmidt.
03:52He bided his time, and Adam Yates, I think at this point,
03:55knew that he wasn't going to raise his arms today.
03:57This is not a finish for Adam Yates,
03:59but Mauro Schmidt, it certainly is.
04:03This is the dream scenario,
04:05and apparently, it was planned.
04:08I'm rooming here with Flappy,
04:10and since coming from Australia,
04:13we were looking at the finals from the last couple of years,
04:16and we pretty much planned it exactly like it happened.
04:20So I think, yeah, it went pretty perfect in the end.
04:24I have a great shape, but yeah,
04:25in the end, winning bike racers is something else.
04:28And so I think to be able to win this is extremely nice.
04:362025 Swiss national champion in both the ITT and the road race,
04:40and he certainly loves the early February races.
04:42Last year, it was the Cadell Evans Great Ocean Road Race,
04:45and this year in 26, it's the Muscat Classic,
04:48an 11th career win,
04:49and well done, Mauro Schmidt.
