00:00And I want the people of Latin America to understand that.
00:05It is no great secret that for many, many years the United States dominated Latin America,
00:11overthrew government after government, Salvador Allende being one of many.
00:18And that is not what the American people want.
00:24The people of Latin America have a right to determine their own futures
00:28in partnership with the United States, not dominated by the United States.
00:34So there are many of us who will do everything that we can
00:37to resist the United States government using its power
00:43to determine governance in Latin America.
00:50That's a violation of international law.
00:52I mean, but, and it's something that in extreme cases the international community would have to deal with.
01:01But the idea that a strong nation can unilaterally decide who's going to be running another country
01:11sets a precedent for every country on earth to do the same.
01:16So I have been very strong, as has people throughout Europe and the world,
01:21in condemning Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
01:23Now, Putin had his reasons.
01:26There are lies, what he's doing is horrible.
01:28But how can the United States condemn Putin or anybody else if we think that,
01:34if the United States government thinks it can overthrow governance and take unilateral military action?
01:39If this planet is going to survive, we have to do it through diplomacy.
01:44We have to sit down and work our things.
01:46You can't have nations simply invading other nations at the whim of the leader.
