00:00Let's check out tonight's Toyota Poll Question of the Evening.
00:05Dub Nation, go ahead and scan the QR code right now and cast your vote.
00:10Will the Warriors make a move before the deadline?
00:12It's simple, folks.
00:13Yes or no?
00:15Yes or no?
00:17You're asking the fans or are you asking the Milwaukee?
00:19I'm asking the fans.
00:19I'm asking everybody.
00:20Let's hear from Steve Kerr.
00:21Touch on the deadline.
00:24Yeah, I mean, I talked to him a little bit about it yesterday.
00:27And, you know, I just try to get a feel for what's out there, what's happening.
00:33And, you know, if I need to just step in and say something or talk to a guy, I'll do that.
00:42And this is probably the first time, I would say, since I've been here,
00:47that his name has ever been really mentioned in trade talks.
00:52So it's different.
00:55But it's also part of the league.
00:57It's part of almost every player's journey in this league, just being mentioned.
01:05But it is the first time, so it's for him.
01:07So it's a little different.
01:10All right, Draymond Green has been here for 14 years.
01:14He's going to be in the Hall of Fame one day.
01:16He's going to have his jersey retired.
01:17He may even get a statue.
01:18He's a four-time champion, DPOI, all-defensive team member.
01:22But for the first time over the course of his career, Fezzy, he's been rumored to be linked in these deals.
01:27So Draymond Green is going to be interested to see how he comes out tonight against Philadelphia,
01:30knowing that there's a real possibility that this may be his last game as a warrior inside of Chase Center.
01:35I mean, Draymond, member of my same draft class, you know, he was drafted in the second round.
01:41What he's been able to do in his career so far, from changing his body and working so hard to be in the best condition of his life,
01:48to be able to win defensive play of the year.
01:51When he came into the NBA, they said he couldn't guard people at his position.
01:55Not only did he guard people at his position, he guarded the point guards, the two guards, the five men.
02:01He's been able to play and give the Warriors this killer lineup with his defensive versatility.
02:06So, you know, you've seen him with Steph Curry, that pair has been dangerous.
02:11But for the Warriors and for any other team that's out there, you know, his contract is something that's favorable.
02:16When you look out there, he's somebody who has a team option next season.
02:18So that's something that you can throw in a deal.
02:20But for the Warriors to do that, they have to get something back that brings the same thing that he brings to the game.
02:25That defensive versatility, that something else that can give you the chance to win that Draymond does.
02:31Like you said, Bonte, incredible Hall of Fame career, has been an integral part of all these championships.
02:37His defensive prowess, one of the greatest defenders of his generation, no question about that.
02:42And I personally think he's got a lot more offense to give.
02:45We saw him get 15 points last game in the first half.
02:47I think he can knock down threes at a high rate consistently.
02:50That's my personal opinion.
02:52But when you're talking about dealing with Giannis Antetokounmpo, it's basically the Milwaukee Bucks telling you what they want and you agreeing to it.
03:00That's really what the deal is.
03:01Obviously, the Warriors have their picks on the table.
03:03And it's up to the Bucks to decide what plays they want to put around that deal between now and Thursday, if that comes to fruition.
03:10So, look, Klay Thompson has come and gone.
03:16The history of the NBA, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been traded.
03:18So, this is a reality that all players face at some point in their career.
03:22Charles Barkley, Will Chamberlain.
03:24The list goes on and on and on as we get ready for some basketball.
03:28Luka Dacic was traded, absolutely.
03:30Hello?
03:30For a little crossover with the gentleman calling the action, as always, here at NBC Sports Bay Area, Bob Fitzgerald and Kalina Zabuki.
03:37If it's a weird day with all the trades going down, we're less than 36 hours away from the trade deadline.
03:43But for the Warriors, they just need to get a win.
03:45They've lost four of their last six.
03:47No Stephen Curry tonight.
03:48And you've got a Sixers team in front of you that have won four in a row.
03:51And they're feeling good about themselves.
03:52So, all hands on deck tonight.
03:54Don't worry about the trade deadline.
03:55I know it's easier said than done.
03:57They've got to get a win tonight against the Sixers team before they hit the row for two.
04:00Well, I think the thing you look at, Bonte, is without Jimmy Butler, every win is precious.
04:07If you want to be in the postseason, catching a team on the back end of a back-to-back is favorable.
04:12But you don't have Steph Curry, and you're 4-7 without him.
04:15So, to me, yes, there's a lot of stuff that goes on in sports.
04:20You've got a game coming up.
04:21Once they sing the anthem, get out there and get after the Sixers.
04:24Every game critical.
04:25But, Mully, I've been thinking about Guy Santos and watching him play.
04:30I've got to give this man some love, man, because everybody talks about the energy he brings, the joy he plays.
04:35It's wonderful.
04:36But sometimes, Mully, he'll throw a move at you, and you're just like, wait a minute, I didn't know he had that in his game.
04:41Like, Euro steps, the D-cells, the footwork, pump fakes, all these different things.
04:46What's impressed you about Guy Santos, Mully?
04:48Things fits in Buki, and to me, just his natural development from where he was when he first got here as a Warriors.
04:55He's gotten stronger physically.
04:56He's maintained his versatility.
04:59He's got a tremendous feel for the game, both offensively and defensively.
05:02He's comfortable knocking down an open three.
05:04He gave himself in the paint to finish or make a nice little pass to his teammate.
05:07And tonight, he's got a nice matchup with another energy guy with Dominic Barlow.
05:13So, it'll be a good matchup tonight for Guy.
05:16Last night, Barlow had 26 points, 10 offensive rebounds.
05:19You talk about energy.
05:21So, it's going to be a good little matchup there to watch tonight.
05:23And, Festus, I'm going to ruin our open, but I love this guy so much, I have to say it anyway.
05:29Moses Moody, to me, for the month of January, to be the second-best three-point shooter in the entire NBA at 47%.
05:38Moses, 10 straight games and double figures, never done that.
05:41And he's only 23, Festus.
05:44People, with Moses Moody, when you were a young player and you started to feel like,
05:47hey, I belong, I can contribute every night, what is that like for a young player to realize that?
05:54It's spooky.
05:56The maturity of Moses Moody is always, every year I feel like he always shows more and more how mature he is,
06:03how he looks at the game.
06:05You know, he's understood that for him to be in that starting lineup, he has to hit shots.
06:09And the way he has to hit shots is different from when he comes off the bench.
06:12He can make more plays off the bench.
06:13When he's a starter, he has to be a spot-up shooter.
06:16And you see him just as the season gone along, he's become a better spot-up shooter.
06:21He's become better at making plays in the little bit of time that he has with the ball in his hands.
06:25I mean, he's just a guy that understands his role.
06:28And the maturity comes in being a star in whatever role you find yourself in on the court.
06:33And Festus, Moody mentioned Dominique Barlow.
06:36So, I'm thinking about rebounding.
06:3726 and 16 last night.
06:39I'm thinking about rebounding.
06:40Because this guy, he'll box you out and get an offensive rebound.
06:43So, Warriors making sure they defensive rebound.
06:45But then Festus, this Philly team, they're 28th in defensive rebounding percentage.
06:50You can take advantage of them on the other side.
06:51See if you can crash, especially a game without Steph.
06:54You're missing your playmakers.
06:55Get as many opportunities as you can.
06:57You know, one thing I would say about rebounding.
07:00And I was a guy who offensive rebounded like crazy.
07:03Because you understand that there are some times you're not going to get the ball on the floor.
07:08So, your job is to find other ways to score.
07:10And Dominique, what I saw, I mean, I watched the game for maybe 5, 10 minutes yesterday.
07:14And I saw him get four rebounds in that span.
07:16Like, he's a guy who is relentless.
07:18He's finishing at the rim.
07:19And when you finish like that, it becomes that they start trying to find ways to find you on the floor.
07:24I can tell you play with a lot of shooters.
07:26Because I'll miss shots or passes.
07:27Go get it, big fella.
07:29Soft passes off the rim.
07:31We'll get it off the rim.
07:33Have a great call, guys.
07:34As we send it back to the Lazy Boy broadcast.
07:37Yeah, the guys are talking.
07:38Played Philly.
07:39You lost by a single point.
07:4099-98.
07:41You were in that game.
07:43There is a recipe to beat this team.
07:45You're hunting wins.
07:46And you have had practice playing without Steph.
07:49Like you're saying, it makes everything more difficult.
07:51And guys that aren't used to creating as much, they're usually being created for.
07:57Now they have to initiate and be playmakers and all those things a little more than they used to.
08:01That's a challenge.
08:02But in games like this, you always have to remember, this is a game.
08:05Yep.
08:06Go ahead and embrace this.
08:07Play with some joy.
08:08Come out with some force.
08:09Have fun.
08:10See what you can make happen.
08:11So the first game in February.
08:13And we look back to January to two Warriors that were simply spectacular.
08:18Al Horford and Moses Moody.
08:19Our Kaiser Permanente teamwork in action.
08:22Al still playing about 20 minutes a game, but he's starting now.
08:25Very efficient.
08:26Al Horford is moving so well.
08:29You can tell he's not worried about his lower extremities.
08:32So his smarts come out.
08:33His IQ is on display.
08:35His versatility on both sides.
08:37He can get out, switch on to guards, guard the perimeter, move his feet, contain.
08:42And he can be a rim protector inside as well.
08:44Moses Moody, 10 straight games of double-figure scoring.
08:47Second best three-point shooter in the entire NBA for the month of January.
08:52This is what a player looks like when he is at peace with his game.
08:56And I've said it a million times.
08:57He brings consistent energy on the defensive end.
09:01He's always working on that side no matter what's happening offensively.
09:03So he gets rewarded for what he brings defensively.
09:06The shooting is one thing.
09:07He can create for himself a little bit here and there.
09:10He's going to get some drives.
09:11He's going to have to create for himself a little more this game.
09:13But Philly is rolling.
09:14They've won four in a row.
09:16They've scored 504 points the last four games.
09:19They're shooting 45% on threes as a team.
09:22And they're led by Tyrese Maxey.
09:24This guy is a superstar.
09:26Our BMW Ultimate Performers year by year.
09:30Better and better and better.
09:32It's not Paul George.
09:33It's not Embiid.
09:34He's their guy.
09:34He is their workhorse, averaging the most minutes per game, the most touches.
09:40And you think about him becoming a better leader, figuring out, okay, when do I get my guys involved?
09:45How do I diagnose this game?
09:46Okay, it's time for me to get going.
09:48He's so smart there.
09:49He can just kind of manipulate a game now and figure out what he wants to do with the pace of the game, kind of control it.
09:55So he's ahead of the snake.
09:57If you want to have a chance to beat this team, you may have to double team him, get the ball out of his hands, deal with everybody else, and rotate.
10:03All right, so no Steph Curry tonight.
10:05That's one Hall of Famer.
10:07No Jimmy Butler the rest of the year.
10:09That's another Hall of Famer.
10:10But you got one Hall of Famer left, baby.
10:12That is Draymond Green, the heartbeat of the Warriors.
10:16Defensively, he can control the game.
10:18You've got to slow down Maxey and the Sixers.
10:20Some way, somehow, find a way to get a win here at Chase Center.
10:24The closer.
10:33Second and final meeting with the Warriors and the Sixers.
10:45And the one in Philly was a one-point game that got away.
10:50For the Dubs, they'd like to even that season series, take a win on the road before they head off to Phoenix and the Lakers.
10:56But without Steph Curry, every game is a challenge, and yet, you've got a couple days off to kind of get ready to prep for this one.
11:04There you go.
11:05So, opportunity knocks.
11:07That's the mentality you have to have with these games.
11:09Yes, they are difficult.
11:10Everybody knows this.
11:11But embrace the challenge.
11:13Facing this Sixers team, they've been playing well.
11:16On-ball defense is going to be so important.
11:18And they do go ISO a pretty good amount.
11:20And you think about Tyrese, and he's just going to drive on you.
11:26He's going to try to make plays for everybody.
11:28But double-teaming him and rotating out of that.
11:31He's the head of the snake.
11:32Then defensive rebounding is so important.
11:34Just rebounding in general because Dominique Barlow, especially, he's come on strong when it comes to offensive boards.
11:40He'll box you out and then see if you can crash on them.
11:42They're 28 defensive rebounding.
11:44Transition defense.
11:45Warriors have kind of struggled there the last 10 games or so.
11:48You can't attack on them until you stop them in transition.
11:52So, make sure you get back.
11:53They're actually eighth in fast break points.
11:55That's one of the main things they do.
11:56They like to run.
11:57The game in Philly without Steph.
11:59The Warriors came from 24 down and had the lead by one with 11 seconds left before you had Vijay Edgecombe tip one in.
12:08The last game for the Warriors, they were down 20 to Detroit.
12:11Came all the way back.
12:12Made it a three-point game.
12:13How about not getting down 20?
12:15Yeah, can you compete?
12:16Can you start off with the force?
12:18Irees Maxey, Vijay Edgecombe, Kelly Oubre, Dominic Barlow, and Andre Drummond starting for the Sixers.
12:24Draymond and Moody combining on the steal.
12:27Warriors are one of the best teams opponent turnovers.
12:29And it Pajemski, Moses Moody, E. Santos with Draymond Green.
12:33Now Horford for the Dubs.
12:36And where do you find your offense?
12:38Without Steph, you're averaging about 17 points fewer per game.
12:41And how do you create those shots?
12:44That one in and out of the hands of Moody.
12:47Maxey, 29 points a game, missing that three.
12:50You see the Sixers getting on the glass but unable to save it.
12:53And there's two guys getting the ball in his hand.
12:58And Brandon's going to throw three.
12:58And Brandon's really been struggling shooting threes.
13:02And so three for his last 21, that's got to feel good for that to go down.
13:06And I think that's part of the formula for this game.
13:08Get out, transition, attack before the defense is set.
13:10Warriors formula in this game, the pace, run the floor, see if you can play fast.
13:15Crash the offensive glass, it's another part of it.
13:19Maxey.
13:20And there's two guys getting the ball in his hand.
13:22You talked about that on top of the telecast.
13:25Edgecombe missed everything there.
13:27Drummond able to follow it in.
13:29It might have tapped the rabbit.
13:30It did.
13:30It did.
13:31That was the call from Simone Jelks.
13:34But that's the problem, right?
13:35You double-team, you rotate.
13:37Horford did a great job getting out there.
13:39How do you take care of the glass?
13:41One-handed pass so dangerous.
13:42And the Warriors fortunate after Edgecombe knocked it out of bounds.
13:45There's Nick Nurse.
13:46They actually played last night.
13:47They beat the Clippers, who had been playing well.
13:50They started the game 20-5.
13:52And they had 28 second chance points.
13:55They outscored the Clippers by 24 from behind the three-point line.
13:58But they essentially won that game in the first quarter.
14:00That's what can happen if you don't think of the force.
14:01But Jemsky denied it the ring from the start.
14:04Nick Nurse won that title in Toronto, beating the Warriors.
14:07And even though Steph is not playing, Nick Nurse has two men guarding him on the bench.
14:13That's what's going to do with that whole series.
14:14And Dominic Parlow, what a story.
14:16After overtime elite undrafted in year four and career best 26-16 last night.
14:23He was the first overtime elite guy.
14:26But, yeah, that's the double team again.
14:27And you just don't rotate.
14:28And the Warriors turn the ball over again.
14:31Kelly Oubre on the step through.
14:33Putting it up and out.
14:34You see Barlow get on the glass.
14:36Ball hanging there.
14:37And Moody says, give me that rebound.
14:39And you get a sense of how hard the Sixers play, though.
14:42You have to match that intensity.
14:48Ramon, three.
14:48Ramon had 15 points against Detroit.
14:52Second-best home scoring effort for him all year.
14:55He knows he has to be a threat.
14:56But if they're going to be all the way out on the three-point line,
14:58you can put the ball on the floor, too.
15:00This is kipped up and in.
15:02Andre Drummond has been an offensive rebounding machine his whole career for 14 years.
15:07If you watch him, he'll do his work early and box you out sometimes.
15:10He's just trying to get inside position.
15:12Moody for three.
15:14Second-best three-point shooter in the entire league in January.
15:18February off to a good start.
15:20Pajemski was looking at Edgecombe there.
15:22He was kind of cheating off of Moody as he's going the other way.
15:25So let's flip it back to the weak side.
15:28Edgecombe rattling that home.
15:30One year at Baylor, the third-picked overall.
15:33Dynamic.
15:34That's who worked on his jump shot a great deal.
15:42Swing, swing.
15:43And Ramon the open three, but I like the ball movement there.
15:46What can you do to create an advantage?
15:48Pajemski took two guys with him.
15:49So there's your advantage there.
15:50Swing the ball, you get an open shot, you'll take it.
15:52And Al Alford, that's a great contest.
15:54They've actually been shooting a three-ball really well,
15:59especially last month in January.
16:00So you've got to contest everything just like that.
16:02Follow Al Alford's lead.
16:04Moody took two guys with him.
16:07Shot clock at 10.
16:07Brandon lost the ball off his leg.
16:10Now when you say Philly's been shooting the ball well,
16:12during their four-game winning streak, 45% on threes as a team.
16:16Yeah, they were the sixth-best offense in January.
16:19That's what they've been doing.
16:20They're actually 6-3 in the second game of back-to-backs, too.
16:24So you think of games, a lot of times, Joel Embiid won't play in those.
16:28He's not going to play in one of those back-to-back games.
16:32Hedge gone.
16:33Pajemski played him well.
16:34Guy Santos had that taken away by Drummond.
16:37You see the strength of Andre Drummond there.
16:40And Oubre missing that three.
16:42Warriors fortunate.
16:44Andre Drummond is out there for one reason.
16:46Offensive rebounds.
16:47Now, Horford catch and shoot.
16:51And he rainbows in a triple.
16:53He got a great chance to go in.
16:55That would almost hit the scoreboard.
16:57Such a high arc that Drummond was cheating off of him.
17:00He can't do that.
17:01Really, from Christmas on, Al Horford has been spectacular.
17:05Oubre lasering in a three.
17:08Oubre 38% on the year.
17:09He's actually having one of his best seasons, percentage-wise.
17:14Former Warriors.
17:18Can take no pass for granted on the kickout.
17:21So that ball knocked out of bounds.
17:22It'll be Warrior ball.
17:24And now they're going to switch the call.
17:26Pajemski threw a little hesitation at him.
17:29He tried to kick it out, but they got defenders staying home.
17:34But, yeah, part of the recipe, the formula in these games without Steph Curry,
17:38you're going to see a lot of ball screens, a lot of split action, a lot of plays.
17:42Everybody on the Warriors knows the ball movement has to be there so you can create some advantage.
17:47This team will foul you, too.
17:48They're 22nd when it comes to personal fouls.
17:50So put them in positions to foul you.
17:53Oubre will get to the line himself.
17:55They're actually one of the teams that gets to the free-throw line the most.
17:58They're eight free-throw attempts.
17:59And one of the few teams that shoots really well from the free-throw line, better than the Warriors do.
18:06But you get Draymond, he helped and kind of vacayed the premises.
18:10That's when Kelly Oubre decided to turn the burners on and shoot in there.
18:15But he is a driver slasher.
18:17We know this.
18:18You said you can see how Philly plays in terms of their energy.
18:22They're 5 of 14.
18:24The Warriors are 3 of 6.
18:25And the four Warrior turnovers, that's why Philly has the lead.
18:29And that game in Philly, that was the Pat Spencer coming out party.
18:33And Pat Spencer checks in.
18:34Well, this is what their season has been.
18:36And that game last night, Joel Embiid's not playing tonight.
18:39But he didn't have to get going until later in the game
18:41because guys like Kelly Oubre, Dominique Barlow,
18:44these guys play so hard, especially to start the games,
18:46that they're superstars.
18:48They just kind of coast in there, take what the defense gives them,
18:50diagnose the game, get going when they want to get going.
18:53Yeah, Pat Spencer comes in.
18:54He has the best assistant turnovers on the Warriors as Moody misses that 3.
18:59And he's so great handling in those ball screens, the decision-making.
19:03New break.
19:05Set that to Eschcombe.
19:09He's a Eschcombe now.
19:10He knew he'd have a bounce back because he was 1 of 11 last night.
19:13And he's too good a player.
19:15So, Rico Hines is here as an assistant coach.
19:19He worked with me, and he was here with the Warriors.
19:22Baird Davis was here, we believe.
19:23He's an amazing coach, amazing guy.
19:26All the players love him.
19:27He works with Eschcombe, and that's one of the reasons he's gotten so much better.
19:30So, Steve Kerr going to use a timeout.
19:33Too many turnovers, and the Dubs scuffling, shooting the ball down 7.
19:37Warrior Basketball on NBC Sports Bay Area is brought to you by Genentech,
19:44official partner of the Bay Area Host Committee.
19:48This past weekend, Thrive City hosted its annual Black History Month celebration.
19:52Community enjoying it after amazing afternoon live music.
19:56This was just really well done.
19:58And you get to Thrive City, so many terrific events,
20:01and it is the beginning of Black History Month in February.
20:03Yes, happy Black History Month.
20:05We've been taking in a lot of wonderful movies.
20:09We think about the history, where we've been as a country.
20:13USF taking on Gonzaga.
20:14That'll be Wednesday, February 18th, right here at Chase Center.
20:17All the tickets available for the Zags and the Dons at ChaseCenter.com.
20:23Bulldogs of Mark Few and all the NBA players that Gonzaga has put into the league.
20:29Yes.
20:30All the Warriors have the four turnovers, only two points off of those,
20:32but it's always important to take care of the ball, especially in a game like this,
20:36where you don't have your playmakers and guys are having to playmake that aren't used to doing it as much.
20:42You can turn the ball over, especially against a team that's ninth in opponent turnovers.
20:45Warriors are fourth, though, in opponent turnovers,
20:48so you've got to get active with your hands in four-some.
20:50That's Spencer, off back higher there.
20:53Will Richard come up with the offensive rebound?
20:55Anthony Mountain's first play in time.
20:57He and Hartford have been excellent as a team.
20:59And Draymond hit the three.
21:02Okay, so now he's hit one.
21:04Andre Drummond was kind of close to him there.
21:06He could show and go the next one if he wants to get inside,
21:09score for himself or make a play.
21:11There's another double to do.
21:11They want to keep Tyree's maximum all the way out of this team.
21:14O'Brien trying to set up a relocate, Maxey.
21:18That's a very difficult shot.
21:20Maxey's so good.
21:22He's 0 for 3, and the Warriors are making life difficult.
21:25Orford has made two threes here in the first
21:28and transitioned early offense before the defense is set.
21:31You see guys were kind of stuck in the paint there,
21:34and they just swung it over to Al Horford.
21:38He had an opening.
21:39Nine of the ten Warrior shots are threes.
21:42Five of nine.
21:43O'Brien.
21:44Hitting another three.
21:45When they're at their best, they're moving the ball, too.
21:48O'Brien Averton, 14 a game.
21:51Spencer, he's not going to turn it over.
21:54He'll get it back.
21:57Knocked out of bounds.
21:59He did turn it over.
22:00I was hoping it was off of the Sixers.
22:02That's your fault.
22:03You jinxed him.
22:04I took my first turnover of the game.
22:06Listen, he sold out for the first one, made sure,
22:09and then he cut.
22:09It was a wonderful cut.
22:11They're super active with their hands.
22:13And they've been forcing a lot of turnovers lately,
22:15so you've got to be careful there.
22:17You think about a team like this without Joel Embiid,
22:20their antennas go up.
22:21Everybody has to play harder, do more.
22:23They're doing it on the defensive end.
22:24Nick Nurse has them playing their best basketball.
22:27I think they're being overlooked in the East.
22:3028-21.
22:31Embiid is healthy.
22:32They're just trying to stay out of that place.
22:34They're sixth, so they're good now.
22:37The shot is short.
22:39Trent Watford missing that.
22:41Draymond sending Melton on his way.
22:47Anthony Melton on the quick post, working on the one side.
22:52Now Melton, Grumman, who's quite get by him,
22:56and you just see Maxey in the passing lane.
22:59Fortunately for the Dubs, he was out of bounds.
23:01He was just guarding two there.
23:03He's like a safety,
23:04so you get a double team on Melton as he's driving there,
23:07and he was kind of in a bad way,
23:09so Maxey knew the easiest pass for him
23:11was going to be right to that corner he was there for.
23:13But Warriors live to see another day.
23:15You only have about a little under five seconds to work with.
23:18Former Sixer Buddy Heald back in.
23:20And the Warriors make something out of nothing.
23:24Little Clinton post post shot.
23:25See D'Anthony Melton reestablished there?
23:28A little twinkle-toe action.
23:30He's got footwork like a ballerina.
23:33Grumman, that creates space,
23:35and Quick Post don't just give away a foul.
23:38Now, if you're going to foul,
23:39Grumman, he's not a great free-thrower,
23:40but that time Post went straight up
23:42and bothered him on the shot.
23:46Buddy Heald cutting.
23:47Well, Richard for three.
23:50With the river flying out of him,
23:51and he made it anyway.
23:53You get the initial drive in there.
23:55Now you're making the defense work.
23:56You're moving the ball side to side.
23:58Get a little relocation after he drove the baseline.
24:02Two guys flying.
24:02It doesn't matter.
24:03He's unfazed.
24:04Six different Warriors have scored.
24:06And that's the kind of night you need without Steph Curry.
24:08Have to have it.
24:09He drives in.
24:11After driving again.
24:13Putting it up and out.
24:14Got his own rebound.
24:16And here comes Grumman.
24:17Quinton Post said no.
24:19But then Trent Lockford able to put that in.
24:21They're relentless attacking inside.
24:24They're sticking with that double team.
24:26And guys are driving off of that.
24:28Now, nifty move in the paint.
24:31How about counter moves?
24:32No tornado move on El Oubre.
24:35The Warriors don't turn it over.
24:37So far, so good.
24:38Eight of 13 shooting.
24:39Well, they have a lead.
24:43Maxi kind of got out the ball.
24:45Flipping it up and down.
24:45He's actually gotten really good at that.
24:48Playing without the ball.
24:49He actually kind of learned that at Kentucky.
24:54Threw that one away.
24:56The Warriors are piling up the turnovers now.
24:57Six.
24:59Grimes was a restricted free agent.
25:00He can score.
25:01How about Quinton Post three times now with point-flank range.
25:05But now another Warrior giveaway.
25:06Got to be careful with the outlets.
25:09Dribes couldn't hit that three.
25:15Steps to go.
25:16Let's go.
25:17Let's go.
25:17Let's go.
25:17Not in a good look from Dean.
25:19He can drive that.
25:21Then Post fighting for that rebound.
25:22Got on the deck.
25:23But Dribes comes up with it.
25:24We've got Drummond closing out to you there if you're D'Anthony Melton.
25:27He's great throwing to Drummond.
25:29And he had it blocked.
25:30The Warriors are sprinting back.
25:32Buddy Hill got a piece of that along with Melky.
25:35Buddy on the sidestep three.
25:38And Pat Spencer inside.
25:40And you've got to outwork him.
25:42You've got the Sixers shrugging.
25:43One of the things in Warrior practice, the points of emphasis, transition defense.
25:48They had struggled with that lately.
25:49The Warriors are sprinting back.
25:51Coach Kerr has gotten into them.
25:54Some guy named Kalana Zabuki said the Sixers don't rebound defensively sometimes.
25:59No, they don't.
25:59And so keep them off the glass.
26:02Keep them away from the rim.
26:03And Quinton Post says no mail delivery today.
26:07With the Warrior lead at one.
26:11Can I interest you in threes made?
26:13Yes.
26:14How about all time in NBA history?
26:17The most threes for 50 games.
26:18This edition of the Warriors' fourth most all time.
26:22Now, Boston, they ran away and hit with that record last year.
26:26Right.
26:27Through 50 games, the Dubs have had the most threes three of the four times in NBA history.
26:33Having Steph Curry definitely helps in a big way, especially when he's ghosted people.
26:37Did you see that last one?
26:38He does it on the regular.
26:39But everybody else is chipping in, too, especially when the Warriors move the ball
26:42and they get in the paint, make the defense react, kick it back out.
26:46It's always about how they get it.
26:48Brendan Watford, back-and-down Pat Spencer.
26:52Kick out.
26:53McCain had that blocked.
26:55Amazing.
26:55DeSantos and his energy.
26:57You can trust him for it.
26:59So, Jared McCain, the one-year at Duke, another perimeter shooter has been a high IQ guy.
27:03Really good playmaker.
27:06It's interesting with Watford trying to stay with Pat Spencer.
27:10The post was pulled down.
27:12So, Warriors keep going different types of ball screens, change up the angle on them, get some movement into it.
27:18And Watford, and then he's trying to figure out how to guard it.
27:21He kind of boxed that coverage a little bit, had to do extra.
27:24How many Sixer games do you watch just on League Pass and stuff like that?
27:27Every now and then, a good amount.
27:29Adem Bona is my guy, man.
27:31Oh, what a defender.
27:32His high motor, super versatility.
27:35One of those speed bigs, right?
27:37The modern NBA big athleticism.
27:40He's going to crash the offensive glass, too.
27:42You've got to keep him off.
27:43Two years at UCLA, Defensive Player of the Year in the conference.
27:46Humphick's still working.
27:47DeSantos setting it up and in.
27:49And Bona had to get out to the perimeter.
27:51So, once you get Quentin Post with the ball, someone else has to rotate over there.
27:56He's able to make plays.
27:57Quentin Post has great vision, that interior passing.
28:00I love it when they give it to him in there.
28:02B.J. Edgecombe.
28:04Maxi sits.
28:05He handles and gets right to the rim.
28:07Maxi does not sit very often, most minutes, of any player in the NBA.
28:11It's him.
28:12It's McCain handling.
28:14Grimes can a little bit, too.
28:16They got a really good stable of guard.
28:18I said this last time Warriors played him.
28:22DeSantos not settling for the three.
28:25That Spencer touch pass.
28:26Quentin Post three.
28:28How pretty is that?
28:29Great Warrior ball movement.
28:32Make or miss on that one, I was going to stand up and applaud.
28:34That's the ball movement you need in this game.
28:37That's the formula.
28:39They can't keep up with that if you keep doing that.
28:41Play it pat, that one-hand touch pass.
28:44Bona to the rim to lay it up and in.
28:45I am smiling.
28:47Bona wears 30.
28:48Just like Steph Curry.
28:49I can't think of a more diametrically opposite player in the NBA wearing 30.
28:55Yeah, that's true.
28:56Quentin Post banked it home.
28:59He's saying, look, it doesn't matter if I called it.
29:03Just backpedal like you make to do it.
29:07So Post has eight.
29:08Watford thought about it.
29:11Spinning in the lane.
29:12He took it right in the face.
29:13Ouch.
29:14And that hurts.
29:16You talk about an agile, speed big that can attack off the dribble and go counter moves.
29:22Gui Santos has a mouse forming under his eye.
29:24Uh-oh.
29:25A lot of contact there.
29:28About a four-second big clock, little clock difference winding down a very entertaining first quarter.
29:33Well, you should win the quarter.
29:34This has been a great quarter for the Warriors besides the turnovers.
29:37Melton gets through the whole roster to lay it up and in.
29:39But an offensive foul will wipe away the bucket.
29:42What I'll tell you about McCain, smart player on both sides of the floor.
29:47And because they didn't give up a blow-by and Bonick did a good enough job just staying on his hip,
29:52I think D'Anthony Melton was thinking about him still trying to get past him
29:57and wasn't able to stop himself and slow his body down before he crashed into McCain.
30:03If you challenge that, I don't think you win it.
30:06No.
30:06I think McCain was there.
30:07He had a little bit of a shoulder turn, but he was in a legally set defensive guarding position
30:13before Melton began the upward shooting motion.
30:15And there's going to be a play later in the game that means so much more.
30:18Save it for that.
30:20I understand it.
30:21But they do have time to make something happen here.
30:24Now the Warriors have a foul to give here, though.
30:267.7.
30:295.5.
30:31Oh, yeah.
30:32That's a little close shot.
30:33And right at Draymond there.
30:35That's a nice, skillful finish.
30:362.2 to work with.
30:38Dangerous pass.
30:39You don't want that.
30:41The Warriors fortunate with one second left.
30:44And Wofford is playing well to start this one.
30:46He had Draymond on his heels there.
30:49Eight Warrior turnovers in the first quarter.
30:51I mean, that just cannot happen.
30:54Draymond from three-quarter court.
30:56He did well to hit the backboard.
30:58So you make eight threes.
31:00You shoot it at 60%.
31:02You end up having nine different guys score in a Warrior uniform.
31:06Take care of the ball, and you're going to be in pretty good shape.
31:10After 12 minutes, a one-point advantage against the Sixer team.
31:13It is absolutely red-hot coming in.
31:22A Hardwood Classics camp shirt.
31:24Are you ready?
31:25IOTG 30.
31:26You can save 30% off.
31:28Bring it at shop.warriors.com.
31:30Yes.
31:31IOTG 30 for everything, by the way.
31:34That actually looks like he could wear that for bowling or something.
31:37I like that shirt.
31:39Anything Mitchell and Ness does is solid, though.
31:40Yeah, Warriors are winning the bench battle 15-8.
31:44Warriors have won that battle shorthanded before.
31:46But without Steph's 28 points, the fact that nine guys scored,
31:51everyone feels like they're part of the offense.
31:52That's a good thing.
31:53They need to win that battle as Moses Moody misses one.
31:56The Sixers are 27th at bench points.
31:59Warriors are second there.
32:00Warriors are doing it together.
32:01They have 12 assists already.
32:03No, 10 assists already.
32:06It drives.
32:07Moody ran off the three-point.
32:09He's got all the way to the top.
32:10He's not just a shooter.
32:14He's not shooting a three-ball as well as he would like to right now.
32:16He is.
32:16So seeing one go in inside, driving first, is a good idea for him.
32:21But Prochemski with Draymond.
32:23Moody, Will Richard, along with Al Horford,
32:26beginning the second for the Warriors.
32:29Moody driving.
32:30Nice kick out to Draymond.
32:31Corner three.
32:33Here comes Wadford the other way.
32:35Playing with a Dembona.
32:36Along with Edgecone, Grimes.
32:38You get the looks you want, though, offensively.
32:41Quick Grimes.
32:43He was restricted free agent.
32:44As was Cam Thomas, as was Kaminga.
32:48Okay, that push shot from Wadford.
32:50And Bona tipping it up.
32:51And then, I told you about Bona's offensive rebounding.
32:54Wadford, he can play it.
32:56He can shoot it, too.
32:5639% from three-point range, but he's got floaters.
32:59He's really the reason the bench battle is as close as it is.
33:03Wadford, you like that shot with the elbow jumper, unable to hit it, though.
33:08Edgecone, he just plays a different speed all the way to the ramp.
33:11You got to get back and then be ready to fit.
33:14It's a different thing when you got to get back and move your feet for a dynamic player like him to attack you.
33:20Last four games, Philly, 504 points.
33:24Lennon mentioned how good they were offensively in January.
33:27Bona's got a steal.
33:28And Bona's got a dunk for his career has started out in the worst way possible.
33:34You got nine turnovers for four Sixers points right now.
33:38Coach Kerr needs to discuss this.
33:40Twelve unanswered by Philly.
33:42Steve Kerr takes time.
33:4410-10 remaining in the half.
33:46And the Sixers, they look like a team that's won four in a row.
33:49Bona was out of bounds.
33:50Brought to you by downtown Subaru of Oakland.
33:53Home of pure pricing, whether it's online or in person.
33:55The pure price, it's a win-win situation.
33:58Visit SubaruofOakland.com.
34:02So, 12 unanswered by Philly.
34:04But, Kaleta, there's a reason the Warriors stopped here.
34:07Mark Lindsay is a great official, 19 years in the league.
34:10I mean, come on, man.
34:12That's not even close.
34:14This foot is out of bounds.
34:15And Mark Lindsay's right there looking at it.
34:17I'm not really sure what he was looking at.
34:18They let that one go.
34:20Yeah, that's a basket that never should have happened.
34:22And that's huge in a game like this.
34:24Well, you have right now, Philly has 36 shot attempts.
34:28To the Warriors, 22.
34:29And that's where the turnovers and the offensive rebounding becomes a math equation.
34:35Can't give a team 14 more shot attempts.
34:38You've got to take care of the ball.
34:40They're running through the gaps.
34:43They're trying to shoot through their time.
34:44They're trying to deny time.
34:45Sometimes, you can backdoor cut.
34:50Now, Horford, waiting for that split action.
34:53Hedgecombe hit the deck, Buddy Heal couldn't hit that.
34:56Pajemski kept it alive.
34:57An extra opportunity for the deck.
34:59Hedgecombe is still sticking up.
35:00Drayvon laid it out on that skill-exing screen.
35:02These are just turnovers that are maddening.
35:07I mean, some of it's Philly defense, but I want to dunk in that one now.
35:12I mean, the Warriors are wearing black jerseys.
35:14Throw it to a guy wearing a black jersey.
35:16This is where you have to take a beat.
35:19Buddy Heal just got sped up there.
35:20It's just a lazy pass.
35:22Kind of threw it before he knew what he was doing.
35:24This is a game where you can't have extended mental accesses.
35:41This is one.
35:43Ricocheted off the edge, come on this so badly.
35:45You're just trying to keep the game as close as possible.
35:47Obviously, get a lead way if you can.
35:50He's Santos.
35:51Picked the pocket, and Buddy Heal laying it in.
35:56Guy doing everything on that play, and he delivered the pass at just the right time.
36:00Really fundamental, though.
36:02Grimes tried to go at him.
36:03He's trying to go iso there.
36:04Guy just reached in.
36:05He's got some quick hands that make the play on the other side.
36:09Any fast break points you can get.
36:11It's a sigh of relief.
36:12Nick Nurse is like, hey, we're going to leave without Maxey in the game
36:16as Hedgecombe buries the three.
36:18Well, Maxey's got two points.
36:20It's been everybody else working.
36:23They double-teamed Maxey when he was in there,
36:25Buddy took a beat and then found Pochopsky.
36:29Pona's a great defender.
36:30Be dealing with him.
36:31Once you've got him lifted out of the lane,
36:33see if he can get somebody else that's breaking the paint,
36:35Buddy Heal does to put it up and end.
36:37He took his time.
36:38He saw he had a little bit of space there.
36:40Go ahead, make a quick move.
36:42Don't mess around with it too much.
36:43Get by your man.
36:44See what you have.
36:44You have a little floater.
36:45Ten Warriors have scored.
36:48No problem with the shooting percentage.
36:50It's just getting shots up.
36:53The way this team's shooting threes,
36:55as Grimes buries another one.
36:57He's a better shooter than his percentage.
36:59He's 34% to three-point range right now.
37:01Said in Philadelphia, the Warriors got down 24,
37:07came all the way back to take a one-point lead
37:09with 11 seconds left.
37:10Buddy Heal, missing that wing jumper there.
37:13But you don't want to keep digging huge deficits if possible.
37:17Down 20 to Detroit, came back, made that a three-point game.
37:20Watford lost the handle, got it back.
37:22And then lay it up and out and draws the foul.
37:25It's just the way you start this quarter,
37:27with an extended mental action.
37:28Because he won the first quarter.
37:30So if he just kept playing that way
37:32and staying away from the turnovers,
37:34he'd be okay.
37:35But Watford is another one of these guys.
37:37Can come in off the bench,
37:39give you really good minutes,
37:41produce, score, make plays for others.
37:45He's already got five rebounds.
37:48Talk about short minutes being effective.
37:50Those guys in this league,
37:51as he misses the first free throw,
37:52there's clearly guys in this league
37:53that are used to being effective in short minutes.
37:55Second free throw coming your way,
37:56courtesy of Jack in the Box.
37:58My fan favorite Chicken Supreme is back,
38:01starting at 5.49.
38:02Welcome to Jack in the Box.
38:05One of the adjustments the Warriors have had to make,
38:08especially offensively,
38:09without Jimmy Butler,
38:11is just going totally away from ISO.
38:13Like, Jimmy Butler ISO,
38:15without Steph Curry in the game.
38:16Now it's about the ball movement.
38:18You're trying to find that flow.
38:20Go ball, screen, split, action,
38:21whatever you want to do to get that ball movement going.
38:23You see the screen and you see the passing.
38:28You had the 10 assists in the first quarter.
38:30It's got a little more stagnant now.
38:32Oh, reverse on the other end.
38:35That little handoff there,
38:36got in the step.
38:38Defender has a bad angle.
38:39Yeah, you're shooting 54% to the game.
38:41You're shooting 44% off threes.
38:43It's all about just getting shots up.
38:50It's coming.
38:51He had a lot of wiggle to his game.
38:53Buddy knocked it away.
38:54Guy, diving on the deck,
38:55but couldn't quite save it.
38:57A good defense buddy,
38:58Heald and Guy Santos.
38:59You have to be ready to move your feet.
39:01This team is third in the league
39:02when it comes to ISO frequency percentages.
39:05A lot of guys that are going to try to test you.
39:07Edgecombe is one of these guys.
39:09He didn't give up the blow-by.
39:10Guy Santos is in the right place at the right time.
39:13Lays out for it.
39:14Almost hits his face on the ground.
39:16He does not care.
39:17What he's saying is,
39:18based on the Bona play,
39:19weren't I in battles?
39:23Could have let that go.
39:25And Bona fly to hammer that in.
39:28He's moving at a different speed, okay?
39:31The Sixers bench has come in
39:32and changed the game.
39:34So Dan Bona with 10 points off the man.
39:37He's got to match their intensity.
39:38He's on one right now.
39:41Boyer's got a crack at the boxing out for work.
39:44Brenton calls with a nice step around.
39:46Everyone just hung on iron.
39:48It's in a danger zone right now.
39:50They're trying to extend the last lead out even more.
39:53And the Bona's all back up
39:54and watching number three.
39:55The Warriors led by one at the end of one.
40:01They've been run out of their own building
40:02the first six minutes of the second.
40:04Warriors were winning the bench battle
40:06handily in the first score.
40:08Now it's 25-21.
40:09Fade with the Sixers.
40:15Spencer with Bona on him.
40:17Shot clock at three.
40:18And then Pat with the wing.
40:19Jumper off iron.
40:20Post with the rebound.
40:21Yeah, they're not getting the same type of movement.
40:23Let that ball movement create an advantage,
40:25create some angles to the basket,
40:26create some long closeout so you can drive.
40:29There you go.
40:30And Santos to beat the shot clock.
40:32Buzzer.
40:32Gee for three.
40:34He's coming off back-to-back 16-point games,
40:37both season high.
40:38Skip it across.
40:40You can do a little drive-and-kick.
40:42A little short, quick one.
40:45Brimes trying to take over,
40:47but missed that three.
40:49Grimes is another one of those guys
40:50that can have those spurts
40:52where he just goes off for a while.
40:53Buddy!
40:54Show and go!
40:55Got by Bona.
40:56Good defender.
40:57To lay it up and in.
40:59Buddy Hill's going to test and see
41:01how good and how versatile Bona is
41:03as a defender, as a big.
41:04The Sixers will take time.
41:08So a Dem Bona with 10,
41:09Grimes with 8,
41:10Watford with 7.
41:11The bench brigade getting it done for the Sixers.
41:14NBA title.
41:16Exactly 60 years earlier,
41:19there was an even more historic title.
41:21Syracuse proves unbeatable.
41:22As a member of the 1955 champion Syracuse Nationals,
41:27Earl Lloyd and his teammate Jim Tucker
41:29became the first black players
41:31on an NBA championship team.
41:34And this month,
41:37we celebrate NBA Pioneers Day
41:39and on to the league's first black players.
41:41Beautiful Chuck Cooper,
41:43Nat Sweetwater-Clifton,
41:44and Earl Lloyd.
41:45You can scan the QR code
41:47to learn more of an NBA Pioneers Day
41:49in the beginning of Black History Month
41:51in the NBA.
41:52It's great to read about those guys
41:53and think about what they had to go through.
41:56I've been watching a lot of great
41:57black history movies.
41:58Remember Just Mercy?
41:59You went and saw that in Memphis.
42:00Remember those really good hidden figures?
42:02The ladies representing too
42:04is you get Drummond thrown it away.
42:07It's a turnover.
42:08You just named two.
42:09I mean, Just Mercy and Hidden Figures.
42:12If you haven't seen either one of those films,
42:13they're both fantastic.
42:15Till is another amazing one.
42:16Yeah.
42:17That's a heavy.
42:18That's a very tough movie.
42:20But he healed looking for Quentin Post.
42:29Yeah, Maxi on his back
42:30and threw it away.
42:33He was looking for GP2.
42:34Had a right idea.
42:35Just threw it so late after he cut.
42:37So times and Barlow
42:39with Andre Drummond Oubre
42:40and Maxi back in.
42:42Sixer lead is 10.
42:45And he healed.
42:46He had the cutter
42:47and he had good awareness
42:48to steal that.
42:50Melton catch and shoot three.
42:53GP2 kept it alive.
42:54An extra opportunity.
42:56Melton one more time.
42:59Well, the Warriors are working hard right now.
43:01Well, GP2 being the game helps.
43:03He's going to match the energy
43:05you can see in front of the six-foot bench.
43:08It's a little disappointing
43:09because he's a double-teaming.
43:10Now, see, the good effect.
43:12Drummond for three.
43:13And I love Andre Drummond
43:16but I'm giving him that shot all day.
43:17We were watching him
43:18take that shot in the war box.
43:20And it's because he can't be
43:21an offensive rebounder
43:22if he's 24 feet from the basket.
43:24He can't rebound his own miss.
43:26If he misses it long enough, maybe.
43:28That's true.
43:30And Post.
43:31I want him shooting threes.
43:33And Post bearing another triple.
43:36He's three for three from deep.
43:37First Warrior double figures with 11.
43:39It's amazing what a little bit of
43:41ball movement will do for you.
43:42And Buddy Hill drove.
43:44Drive was threatening enough
43:45even though it was a short one
43:46to kick it out there
43:47and get the ball moving.
43:49Great missing there.
43:51Foul on the rebound.
43:53Dominique Barlow.
43:55He's going to grab offensive rebound.
43:57Sometimes he's going to try to box you out
43:59and get offensive rebound.
44:00He's just trying to get inside position.
44:02He's so agile.
44:03Here's the little drawn kick.
44:05Barlow's not close enough to Quentin Post.
44:07Quentin Post is knocking him down this game.
44:09This is what you love to see.
44:12He's seeing him go in.
44:13We always hear KYP, know your personnel.
44:16If you're Barlow, you don't know Post
44:17is a three-point shooter.
44:18Exactly.
44:19Even though his percentage
44:20hasn't been great as of late,
44:21he is a shooter.
44:22He's a pick and pop threat for sure.
44:24All right, stop going.
44:25Get back to the way.
44:25Go ahead.
44:26Oubre, he's going to be his back.
44:28Flap there.
44:30Ruben just pushed him off.
44:32And then couldn't finish.
44:33They're letting play inside a little bit.
44:35Well, they can't be surprised
44:36if they get the offensive rebound.
44:37Still defend.
44:38Quick, let's do that.
44:39And Buddy Heald putting it up and in.
44:41What about Buddy Heald driving
44:43and getting inside,
44:45showing he's not just a three-point shooter.
44:46So 10 unanswered for the dubs
44:48after being down 15.
44:50See when they double-teamed Tyrese Maxey this time.
44:52And I'm going to wait for a stoppage.
44:54I don't want to jinx something.
44:56But the next round, there is the stoppage.
44:57And I was just going to jinx it.
44:59We've only had five fouls called in the whole game.
45:01I know.
45:02In the whole game.
45:03Well, they were looking at double-teamed Maxey
45:05and he turned around
45:06and Pajemski was there and he fouled him.
45:08But listen, in transition,
45:10before the defense is all the way set,
45:11he may have a big on you as a guard.
45:13Go ahead and use your quickness.
45:15Tyrese Maxey, I was saying,
45:17he learned how to move without the ball.
45:20It's another Kentucky guy.
45:21Remember when he was at Kentucky,
45:22he played with Emmanuel Quigley.
45:24Yeah.
45:24So Quigley was on the ball a lot
45:26and he had to play without the ball.
45:27How did you guard that back?
45:29That's what I'm saying.
45:30And then, remember,
45:31he didn't get to play without James Harden
45:34until his fourth year.
45:35So a lot of times when he first got with the Sixers,
45:38James Harden was there.
45:40The Warriors get a little hockey substitution.
45:42Yeah, the ball-dominant guy.
45:43So he was on the ball a lot.
45:44So that really helped him when he got to the league.
45:46So all this double-teaming you're seeing from the Warriors,
45:49he's going to be relocating.
45:50He's going to be moving without the ball
45:51a little more in games like this.
45:53When I see first and minutes played,
45:55you're my kind of guy right there.
45:57Oh, yeah.
45:57He's played the most minutes in the NBA.
46:00He's a workhorse.
46:01He also won the sportsmanship award.
46:03He's terrific with the media and his teammates.
46:05There's a lot to like about Tyrese Maxey.
46:08He's becoming a better leader,
46:10figuring out when to say things, what to say.
46:13Pass to Buddy Heald.
46:14And he didn't quite finish the lineup.
46:16He had a good post up and Draymond found it.
46:18Warriors are here, though.
46:19It's a seven-point game.
46:21We'll have to finish out this half really well.
46:24Ubray with Moody, knocking it away.
46:26Got it back to his top left hand.
46:28Didn't finish there.
46:29So if you're not having fouls,
46:31what I like is it's very consistent.
46:33A little bump and grind tonight.
46:34That's fine.
46:35And Moody for three.
46:36The Warriors have had a lot of success in transition.
46:40He had a defender fall over.
46:42Push it.
46:43Be intentional about that.
46:44The Warriors have not shot a free throw in the game so far.
46:48So the Warriors are keeping two guys with Tyrese Maxey
46:5194 feet away from the rim almost.
46:54That's Jerry Stackhouse just going, you know what?
46:58He's the kind of guy that could kill us by himself.
47:01He could go off and he could have someone else get 20 points
47:03just off of his attacks and his assists.
47:05So he's so important to what they do.
47:08You got to show him a lot of bodies.
47:11So Edgecombe is going to bring the ball up now.
47:13Instead of Maxey, he's going to play without the ball.
47:16Talk about a dynamic backcourt in terms of quickness, scoring ability.
47:20O'Brien had to take it away.
47:25Took it to trouble.
47:26Buddy heel with a steal.
47:27GP2.
47:29Collisions everywhere.
47:30You've got a two on none.
47:32Oh my goodness.
47:33And then Pajemski gets a layup.
47:35If they had to score there, we would have had to take a lap.
47:38Moses Moody was sitting under the basket like, hey guys, pass me the ball.
47:42But I'm okay with the Pajemski decision.
47:44Just go ahead and drive it in there instead of turning it over.
47:46From down 15 and within one.
47:48Barlow.
47:49And it knocked away.
47:51Wow.
47:52We are letting him play tonight.
47:54Buddy probably was fouled there.
47:56We do have a foul.
47:57Okay, Edgecombe.
47:58Buddy Heald has been driving ferociously.
48:02Threatening drives from Buddy Heald.
48:05Putting the ball on the floor.
48:06Look at his defense.
48:07Buddy Heald made Edgecombe pass it.
48:09And then he helped as Oubre got it.
48:12He got the steal.
48:13He throws a double bounce pass across the court.
48:17Usually those get stolen.
48:18Somehow that got to Pajemski and it bounced twice.
48:22We've got to put some more oomph behind some of these passes.
48:25But that would have worked out.
48:25The first Warrior free throw of the night.
48:28But Buddy Heald missing that.
48:30Xfinity.
48:31This is a way to break the Mojo.
48:33Five-year price guarantee.
48:35The most intelligent Wi-Fi.
48:36And one consistent price for the next five years.
48:39What is going to be the same price for five years?
48:41Nothing.
48:41Tell him.
48:42Thank you, Xfinity.
48:44Cars, food, movies, dinners, clothes.
48:47Nothing.
48:48Xfinity.
48:48Five years.
48:49We're all looking for a little consistency in our lives.
48:51We want consistent calls going both ways.
48:54If you're not going to call a foul on this end, don't call on the other end.
48:57Keep the price the same.
48:58Five years.
48:59I actually kind of like that.
49:00Six Sixers free throws and only two for the Warriors.
49:03Like, it's better basketball.
49:04It's more fun.
49:05No one wants to see people just sit there and shoot free throws.
49:07Okay.
49:08It's a flow.
49:0916-2 Warrior run.
49:11You can't have a run if the game's constantly being stopped.
49:14Tied the game.
49:15You didn't think that was going to happen the way this quarter started.
49:18B-2.
49:19Hounding Maxi.
49:20Final minute of this first half.
49:22He was stepped back.
49:23Three well played.
49:24Rebound.
49:25Out to Oubre the circle of honor.
49:27You got to make sure you got those long rebounds covered.
49:31Flatten out Maxi to the double team on the sideline.
49:33And they don't want to go initially.
49:35And then Barlow makes it something out of nothing.
49:37Pachevsky with the rebound.
49:38They double teamed and then they locked down that baseline.
49:41You're ready to fend out of those double teams.
49:4317-2 run to tie this thing.
49:45Oh, Buddy behind the back.
49:49Buddy in the lane.
49:50And Buddy having a blocked.
49:53Terrific move and block shot.
49:56Oh, the foul on Maxi.
49:59He's shooting a three.
50:00And so three free throws coming.
50:02Man, you've done such a great job on him.
50:04You don't want to allow him to get to the free throw line off of a three.
50:08Get three free throws.
50:10You know he actually played at Nike camp with Cade Cunningham.
50:13Really interesting.
50:16Actually, you never know who you're going to see in those types of camps, Nike camps.
50:21It's great competition.
50:22I remember I got to play with Amari Stoudemire.
50:24I got there.
50:25They put me on a team with Amari Stoudemire.
50:27I'm like, great.
50:27I get to throw logs at this guy.
50:29Well, our Kia player profile.
50:31We've been gushing about Tyrese Maxi.
50:33The other issue for him is in fast break points.
50:37I'd say he's leading 260.
50:41Donovan Mitchell's at 204.
50:43I love this about his game because for a guy that has to work as hard as he does to score sometimes,
50:49to be able to get this many fast break points and run the floor,
50:52obviously it is hard work to run the floor and get out in front of everybody sometimes,
50:55but to get some of those easy ones, that's a breath of fresh air for him.
51:00You mentioned that college teammate Emmanuel quickly.
51:03Maxi quickly in his prime, Russell Westbrook, in his prime, John Wall.
51:08I mean, I was thinking, who's the fastest guy, 94 feet, with the basketball?
51:12He would be in that discussion.
51:14Yeah, he's got that speed, but you know what he kind of added to his game as he got better in the league
51:18is that change of pace.
51:20So when you have the F1 speed, but then you can slam the brakes on,
51:24now it's even more lethal.
51:26And he's had coaches talk to him about that.
51:29So it's almost like it's less work for you.
51:32If you have that kind of speed, you don't have to go hard all the time
51:35and be working hard all the time and going 100%.
51:38You can kind of take a break, slow down.
