Episode 1 of Ranma 1/2 begins in 80s Tokyo. A delivery man brings a man named Tendo a postcard from Ranma’s father, Genma. Genma tells Gendo he’s bringing Ranma with him soon. Gendo cries and can’t wait for Ranma to arrive.
