00:00Hi, I'm Susan Kelechi Watson. You know, it's funny, when I was in school, a friend of mine,
00:09we were giving each other like adjectives, what describes each person in our class. And a friend
00:17of mine said to me, you know what, Sue, I would describe you as unstoppable. And I was like,
00:22why? And she was like, it seems like obstacles just propel you, you know. And when I think about
00:30that adjective, I think about all the women in my life who, whether they're here or they've since
00:38passed on, have left these seeds in my life that I've been able to learn from. And the importance
00:47of passing on, especially the message of using whatever obstacles to keep propelling you forward,
00:55to me is the essence of being unstoppable. It's the idea that whatever issue, whatever you may see
01:04as a problem or conflict that comes in your way is actually something that's being used to rewire you
01:10so that you can take your journey forward. It's kind of like if you play a video game, right? And
01:16you keep acquiring these tools, right? So that when you get to the next level, you can take out the
01:21hatchet and throw it at the ghost or whatever it is. Sorry, I don't play modern video games. But you
01:26get that idea of it's just this constant putting tools in your bag so that when you get to the next
01:32level, you have the tool you need. If you skip them, then you might get eaten. I mean, that's just how
01:38life is. So I've had women like my great grandmother, my own grandmother, who was just a gangster, didn't let anything
01:46stop her. My own mother, who's one of the strongest women I know, and then friends of mine. Sisterhood and
01:54collaboration is everything. Because at the end of the day, it's more than my voice. You know what I mean? Like I can only talk but so loud. But if we have a bunch of us, there's more people who hear us. And it's going to come through me one way. It's going to come through another way.
02:06It's going to come through another woman another way. And these unique ways speak to different people. If you have a dream, in my opinion, that can only be done by you, it's not big enough. When you're being called to do something, find that collective who also feels that same call because then more can get done.
