Thailand heads to the polls on Sunday, but analysts say the final shape of the next government may be decided not by voters, but by post-election deal-making.

00:00Thailand hits into a nationwide election on Sunday, February 8th.
00:04The race has narrowed into a three-way contest between Anutin Chanvirakul's conservative Pumjaitai Party,
00:11the former ruling Puthai Party, and the Reformers' People's Party.
00:15While opinion polls show the People's Party leading, analysts say the numbers alone may not translate into power.
00:21Well, I think the electoral outcome is likely to produce, yet again, another fragmented House of Representatives.
00:32I see that there's a symmetrical scenario.
00:37On the one side, a large segment of the Thai electorate who focus on reform and change,
00:44these are the group of middle class, well-educated, and the younger generation.
00:54And on the other side, the resilience of the network, politics, and patronage might still remain for us to see.
01:05Sawasdee said who will eventually hold power may be decided not at the ballot box but at the negotiating table.
01:11The People's Party might find it very difficult to form a coalition with other parties
01:20due to its strong political stance and ideology.
01:26On the contrary, the Pumjaitai is seen as a favorite party by a network of political elites,
01:36especially the conservative networks, and Kun Anutin has sometimes seen as the pre-selected Prime Minister.
01:45We have seen a massive move from incumbent parties to Pumjaitai, who emerged as the new House of the Conservatives.
01:54The government formation will rely more on post-election negotiations, which is the strong case for Pumjaitai,
02:03rather than the numbers of the elections and electoral results alone.
02:10We have seen as a couple of people, with a former party of the Moon, such as the government marches,
02:15and also the local government państwo.
02:17I've been to the president of the Pumjaitai, who was there doing this for two years,
02:19and I think that also waking up with the establishment of the Parrish Department,
02:21so that's what this must be seen as a leader of the Moon.
02:24We've been to the president of the O'Hill, and his leader of the New Mexico House of 6-colored
02:27and the government mentioned that all over the years,
02:30and he's been to the federal government, and we've been to the eastern people of the world for a while,
02:32and for over the years, to the people of the North Carolina Cup,
02:34and that helped us see the production of the movement,
