00:00Oh
00:30The following contest is scheduled for one fall.
00:48If AJ Styles loses, AJ must retire.
00:54Introducing first, from Vienna, Austria.
00:57Weighing at 250 pounds, the ring general, Gundar!
01:07The man I have called the career killer.
01:13He sent Goldberg into retirement last summer.
01:18He made John Cena give up in Cena's final match of his legendary career.
01:23And tonight, he looks to end the 25-year career of the phenomenal AJ Styles.
01:33Well, Gundar is unquestionably in the year 2026.
01:37Two things.
01:38Number one, the most hated man in wrestling.
01:42Number two, the yardstick.
01:44Bell to bell for this industry.
01:47And it's that last point that makes the threat to the career of AJ so great.
01:54And this match tonight is brought to you by Wingstop.
01:58Made to order.
01:59Always fresh.

03:18The Phenomenal A.J. Stiles!
03:24AJ Stiles has made it clear that 2026 is his final year in professional wrestling.
03:38But he wants to go out on his terms.
03:41He'd love to have a year-long retirement tour and face some of his all-time great rivals.
03:46But he was suckered into this match, Wade, by the ring general, Gunther.
03:50Yeah, he was goaded into putting his career on the line against the career killer, which to me was a huge unforced error.
03:59But sometimes when you think emotionally, you don't think clearly, you think he becomes irrational.
04:06And I understand the pride that A.J. has built up throughout his long 25-plus years at the top.
04:12But that pride for me has made him put his career on the line against the guy who conceivably may not be beatable.
04:23I mean, how long have we been watching Gunther in WWE?
04:26Six, seven years, whatever it is.
04:27I would guess, off the top of my head, maybe five losses in that time.
04:32Could you, could you, have you got the stats to hand?
04:35Actually, six.
04:36Six, okay, well, it's close enough.
04:37It's a handful of losses.
04:39But listen to these numbers.
04:41When he was NXT UK champion, he was champion for 870 days.
04:44When he was intercontinental champion, Gunther held the title a record 666 days.
04:49But he's a double-time world champion.
04:52And he's only been beat six times in the past couple of years in one-on-one action.
04:56And he may be in the best streak of his career right now.
05:00Yeah, and his last loss, of course, was to World Heavyweight Champ CM Punk.
05:04And CM Punk himself, a great CM Punk, said he doesn't feel he beat Gunther.
05:09He feels he just survived Gunther.
05:15The referee in this match is Dan Engler.
05:19He refereed many of A.J. Styles' matches back when Styles was the man who ran TNN.
05:26Will this be the final time we see Styles compete in the ring?
05:35Or will he knock off the ring general and keep his career alive?
05:39Hear that audience suddenly firing up their willing A.J. Styles to victory.
05:43They're very quiet on A.J.'s entrance because there was a severe sense of dread,
05:48of foreboding, because the consequences of this match are almost too great for this audience to enjoy.
05:56So if you're A.J. Styles, what do you have to do to win this match tonight?
05:59Well, you've got to figure out that Gunther simply has no weakness.
06:02Even when you have him in the center of the ring, bang to rights and a calf crusher,
06:06as we saw several weeks ago in Dusseldorf, Germany.
06:09He's still not beaten.
06:10Let me interrupt you.
06:11Gunther may have an Achilles heel, so to speak.
06:14He has tapped out on a couple of occasions.
06:17And he tapped out a few weeks ago, as you mentioned, to A.J. Styles.
06:20Whether it was a ruse or it wasn't, he was caught in the calf crusher, and he did tap.
06:24Now, I'll correct one thing you just said.
06:26You said he has Achilles heels.
06:28I will say he had Achilles heels.
06:31When he's been beaten in the past, he will never be beaten the same way again.
06:34He goes back to the drawing guard and corrects that.
06:37Styles right back to the calf.
06:39Going to be a point of attack as he looks to soften up Gunther to the calf crusher here tonight.
06:44I mean, we will never truly know if Gunther was genuinely tapping out on the aforementioned calf crusher,
06:50or if it was just a ruse.
06:52So, if that is the point of attack, we may find out the truth tonight.
06:56I asked A.J., why?
06:58Why 2026?
06:59I mean, 25-year career, but he's still in the best shape of his life.
07:03He moves great in the ring.
07:04He said, I want people to remember me like this.
07:07I want people to remember me at the top of my game.
07:09I don't want to hang on for a number of years and be a shell of myself.
07:14And you have to applaud that.
07:17Absolutely.
07:17It's noble, but it is high risk against someone like Gunther.
07:21Let me add this to the mix.
07:22What has A.J. done over the past seven days?
07:25He's been in absolute wars with Shinsuke Nakamura and CM Punk.
07:32Gunther, nicely rested, been in the gym, worked on his prep, and completely ready to end this career tonight.
07:38A.J.'s strategy early is the leg of Gunther.
07:43Soften him up for the calf crusher.
07:45Yeah, you're right.
07:45It is going for that leg, soften him up.
07:47That's a physical attack.
07:48But also, it's a mental attack on Gunther, saying, I know your weakness.
07:51I'm going to get you again.
07:52And then, uh, hit Gunther with his own chops.
07:54And now, Gunther with a side headlock.
07:56Wrestling A.J. to the mat.
07:58A.J. Styles' career began back in 2001 with a handful of tag matches in WCW.
08:05Had a handful of matches in WWE at that point in time as well.
08:09Before he went on to become the megastar at TNA.
08:12Went on to New Japan.
08:13Became a world champ.
08:14Came to the WWE a decade ago at the Royal Rumble 2016.
08:19Went on to win a couple of WWE championships, the United States, and Intercontinental titles.
08:25Yeah, he's a man who's done it all and is certainly not ready for it to end tonight.
08:30Unlike Gunther.
08:31But going back to that, that fake tap-out we talked about in that match in Dusseldorf.
08:36What's Gunther always prided himself on?
08:38The match is sacred, right?
08:40But that was the cheapest win of his entire career.
08:42And to Gunther, that was a statement to Stumble.
08:46Nice dropkick by Styles.
08:47I got a question for you.
08:49Gunther has declared for the Royal Rumble match later tonight.
08:52He's in that match.
08:53Do you think he's looking ahead to that and the opportunity to main event WrestleMania
08:57and maybe not completely focused on Styles?
09:00I mean, it might be that.
09:02What I suspect, though, is a simple message being sent to AJ Styles.
09:06I'm so confident that I'm going to wipe the floor with you in your retirement match.
09:10I'm also going to go and win the Royal Rumble.
09:14And after a slow start here from Gunther, things have suddenly picked up right in the solar plexus of AJ Styles.
09:22Take another look at this.
09:24The level of impact.
09:25First with that shot.
09:26And second, the landing, the flip landing of AJ on the floor.
09:31And AJ struggling to breathe here.
09:33I'm not surprised at this at all.
09:35You wouldn't expect Gunther in now.
09:37Dropping Styles on the table.
09:39Just smashing our monitors in the process.
09:42That's the point I was making.
09:43I wouldn't expect Gunther to want to count out victory of AJ Styles.
09:47He wants to tap out AJ.
09:48He promised to do that tonight.
09:50And Styles driven in to the ring post.
09:53And I'll tell you right now, I was watching that Irish whip into the ring post.
09:56Normally you try and resist that.
09:57There was no resistance at all from AJ.
10:00AJ's in a bad way here.
10:0825,000 here tonight in Riyadh.
10:11Trying to will on AJ Styles to dig down deep.
10:15But a chop by this Terminator-like Gunther drops AJ.
10:19And now Styles whipped into the barricade.
10:28Styles is looking like jelly.
10:30Even in the early goings here as a serious mischief in Dom.
10:35To the midsection of AJ Styles who's grabbing that sternum repeatedly.
10:40I'll tell you right now, movement is one thing with a cracked sternum.
10:43Breathing is another thing.
10:45Well, hey, here's the problem with Gunther too.
10:47He's relentless.
10:49He has no mercy.
10:50No absence of malice in Gunther.
10:53He just keeps coming at you.
10:57Will not give you a chance to breathe.
11:00And AJ Styles having problems breathing now as the ribs went into the barricade.
11:04Well, in here with tactics clearly was Gunther.
11:08And you're right, he's as callous, as ruthless,
11:11and as barbaric as they come when he gets the upper hand.
11:16You know, Wade, I had that sit-down interview with him on Raw Monday night.
11:19I was looking into his eyes.
11:20This man relishes the opportunity to end people's careers.
11:25It drives him.
11:26It makes him what he is today.
11:27Yeah, and it adds to the massive aura that this man has built up over the years.
11:33Just crossing off names.
11:36Retiring your favorites.
11:38All of them Hall of Famers.
11:41You notice blood on Gunther.
11:42The official has gloves on.
11:45I wonder if AJ's been busted open.
11:47I can't quite see.
11:48Yeah, there's blood smeared on both men here.
11:50It's on the forearm of AJ too.
11:51It's kind of all over the body.
11:52Oh, what a back body drop.
11:56Quite know where that blood is.
11:57Oh, there it is.
11:58There's a cut right on that left forearm of AJ Styles.
12:02I think it may have happened when he came down hard on the announce table.
12:05Look at the height in this back body drop.
12:07As Gunther just flings him to the mat.
12:09Well, the obvious damage, of course, is to that left forearm.
12:12I think you're right.
12:13I think you got smashed against our monitor.
12:15But the true story is the sternum of AJ.
12:18Well, Gunther promised that he was going to tap out AJ Styles.
12:21Can he do it with a Boston Crab in the middle of the ring?
12:25Gunther screaming, ask him, ask him.
12:28This has all gone horribly wrong right from the start for AJ Styles.
12:33And AJ trying to reverse the pressure here.
12:36Onto his back now.
12:37Fighting out of it.
12:39Styles is relentless as they come.
12:41As resilient as anyone in that kick.
12:44Right to the ribs again.
12:45And AJ's having some problems breathing.
12:47Relentless.
12:48The word you just used for AJ is similarly true.
12:50Perhaps even more so for this man, Gunther, once he gets the upper hand.
12:56And it's that slow pace.
12:59Methodical at times.
13:00But little wasted motion.
13:03One word Gunther wants to use.
13:05And that's punish.
13:07Punish his opponents.
13:08Punish them into submission.
13:10I mean, there are so many strengths to Gunther.
13:15You could write a book about the man.
13:17But one of his biggest ones has to be his callous nature.
13:22His mind is a compassion-free zone.
13:24AJ knows it.
13:25And AJ building up some momentum here.
13:27Yeah, there's no give up in AJ Styles.
13:29Styles now with a kick to Gunther.
13:31Maybe he has Gunther on the ropes a bit here.
13:33Styles now with Gunther up and down.
13:35Waist locked by Gunther.
13:36Missed with a clothesline.
13:37Pele kick by AJ.
13:39AJ blocking out the pain now.
13:42And he really needed to get something going.
13:44Because this was slipping away in a hurry.
13:46And with it, the career of the Phenomenal One.
13:52This match is for the career of AJ Styles.
13:57AJ must win to continue on in WWE.
14:03If he loses, he goes home.
14:05I'll tell you right now, Cole.
14:06You're in the ring against Gunther.
14:08Gunther is a strategic expert.
14:10You need to have all your faculties.
14:12You need a game plan.
14:14It's tough to do that for AJ.
14:16With the weight of the world on his shoulders.
14:19Knowing what is lurking with a loss.
14:21And looking to take Gunther out of his comfort zone here.
14:26And this is good from AJ.
14:27He needs to pick up the pace.
14:28Go as fast as possible.
14:29Tough to do with a busted sternum.
14:31But he's managing it.
14:32Styles into the corner now.
14:34With Gunther up on his shoulders.
14:37Down goes Gunther.
14:39Knee to the neck.
14:40Cover.
14:40Hook to the leg.
14:41Gunther kicks out in two.
14:43So close for Styles.
14:44Well, I mean, you've got to go for broke now if you're AJ Styles.
14:47And he's doing exactly that.
14:49There's nothing to be left on the table tonight.
14:52And that knee to the back of the neck of Gunther may well have changed things in a big way here.
14:56You know, the wheels are turning.
15:00The cerebral AJ Styles trying to think a couple of steps ahead here.
15:05What he needs to do to keep Gunther down.
15:08Is he looking for a Styles clash?
15:09But Gunther now.
15:10And there's the roll through by Styles.
15:12Oh, here we go.
15:13Has him in position.
15:14Gunther could be in trouble.
15:15But couldn't quite lock it in.
15:17Scorpion kick to the head of AJ Styles.
15:18To get out of that.
15:20Followed by the old baseball bat like clothesline.
15:23And the cover.
15:23And a near fall.
15:24It's old school as they come.
15:26Just a swinging lariat.
15:29Straight away out of the disaster.
15:31The almost befell Gunther there with that attempted Styles clash.
15:35Just old school.
15:36I guarantee you the Hall of Famer JBL with a big smile on his face.
15:40After that lariat-like clothesline from the ring general.
15:44Yeah.
15:45As old school as they come is Gunther would thrive in any era going back over 100 years.
15:53Oh, you're thinking about Stan Hansen.
15:55Gunther's getting right in with me.
15:56AJ looking to roll through into the cap crusher here.
15:58Gunther's felt this before.
16:00Looking to hang on.
16:01Gunther holding on to the top rope to prevent that roll through.
16:04That was really smart.
16:04And it goes back to what I was saying.
16:06He never gets caught the same way twice.
16:08Oh, he's a complete student of the game.
16:10He lives and breathes this sport.
16:21The slow prowl around the ring when he's got AJ down.
16:25That's just Gunther going through his list of ideas in his mind.
16:28His strategies.
16:30He's put together.
16:30Roll through by Styles.
16:31Styles will give it the cap crusher.
16:33And Gunther gets to the ropes.
16:35And AJ locking it in.
16:37He's got a five count.
16:39Gunther clearly panicked on that one.
16:41But smartly immediately on the rope.
16:44Did some damage though.
16:45You do have that five count as you mentioned to break.
16:48Yeah, but think about the embarrassment for Gunther Wade.
16:51If he tapped out to AJ Styles tonight.
16:55It's maybe partly physical.
16:57Partly flashbacks.
16:58Remembering the pain of that match in Dusseldorf.
17:01And the desperate measures that were required to get out of it.
17:05Oh, and there is that dinosaur dropkick from Gunther.
17:09And Gunther now lifted Styles up.
17:14Power bomb to AJ.
17:16Stacks him up.
17:17Will this be it?
17:18Styles stays in it.
17:19Man, you saw that over rotation attempt from AJ at the top of that power bomb.
17:24Trying to get over the other side for a roll through.
17:27Because Gunther just too strong.
17:28Let's not forget.
17:29After a low blow, of course.
17:32That power bomb is what finished up AJ in their first match.
17:39Gunther learning a lot about the guts of AJ Styles.
17:44And what has made him one of the greatest competitors on this planet for the past 25 years.
17:49Here's part of the issue for AJ Styles.
17:51Of course, he is the veteran.
17:52We talked about his 25 plus years at the top.
17:55He's never competed against anyone quite like Gunther.
17:58So all of that knowledge, all of that experience, you don't have that much to pull on when you're in there against Gunther.
18:04I have never actually taken one, and I never intend to, but I promise you from talking to the guys in the locker room,
18:16A, it's the initial sting, B, it's the feeling of fire burning through the wall.
18:21AJ Rose through again, he went for the leg, looking at the cap crusher now, on Gunther.
18:25Now they're toward the center of the ring.
18:26Gunther trying to, trying to somehow stay in it, but Styles has got it locked in.
18:31Will Gunther tap out?
18:33Will Gunther tap?
18:34I guarantee you the ref is hyper aware about Gunther's tactics here for a tap out.
18:38If he does try something smart, smart by Styles, rolling back away from the ropes, rolling him into the center of the ring.
18:45This is the exact moment Gunther tapped out in the last match.
18:48Is he going to do it again?
18:49At a great point, the official Dan Engler, putting himself in perfect position to see what Gunther does.
18:55And now Gunther trying to power his way out of this.
18:57A sleeper?
18:58That's a sleeper call.
18:59A sleeper now locked into Styles.
19:01And now Styles trying to hang on.
19:02He's got to get back to a vertical base and create space.
19:05Well, that was desperation from Gunther.
19:07He couldn't get the heels hooked in, but he has.
19:10No, he has a reversal.
19:11Soldiers are down, and it forces Gunther to break.
19:13And now Styles quickly into a sleeper.
19:16Trying to power out there is the big man Gunther who does so.
19:19And now once again locked into AJ in the middle of the ring.
19:22This is where Gunther is so dangerous.
19:25Once he gets it locked in, it's so hard to break.
19:27But Gunther jumped out to the floor.
19:30And it buys AJ critical time here.
19:32Wow, that one just swung back and forth about five or six times in the space of 30 seconds.
19:38Shows you how dangerous these two men are.
19:41Shows you how deep their forms of attack can run.
19:44And Styles now with a phenomenal forearm as he launches himself over the top rope to the floor.
19:50Come on, AJ.
19:53It was a bullseye shot from AJ.
19:56Unfortunately for AJ, wrong side of the ropes.
19:59And Gunther down, he might be KO'd.
20:02He's stirring now.
20:04But AJ needs to get that carcass of the big Austrian back in the ring and finish the job.
20:09AJ going to send Gunther back into the ring.
20:13Styles trying to do what he can to stay in this match.
20:18Styles is completely locked in.
20:20You feel the pressure has now left him.
20:21He's simply in fight mode and fighting freely.
20:24And Styles going to the top rope took too much time.
20:30And Gunther quickly back to his feet, delivering a chop.
20:33Yeah, so difficult to move at your usual speed.
20:35Especially for a pacey guy like AJ when you've been beaten to a pulp by this absolute monster.
20:41Now what does Gunther have in mind?
20:43Trying to turn AJ into a superplex.
20:52AJ slips underneath though.
20:54He's got Gunther in trouble.
20:56Gunther though lands on his feet.
20:58Hooks Styles.
20:59Look at the power bomb.
21:00Ooh.
21:03Styles with one of his own.
21:05Stacks up Gunther for the win.
21:07Gunther kicks out.
21:08Just a taste of his own medicine for Gunther.
21:11And it is a rarity that you see Gunther being hit with his own move like that.
21:18Well, that would have been a major shock to the system, to the ring general.
21:22Of course, the height of AJ not the same as Gunther.
21:25The impact therefore not being quite as great.
21:29But almost a three count and almost salvation for the career of AJ Styles.
21:34But Wade, what's important for Styles now is this.
21:37The match is deep now.
21:39And Gunther hasn't been able to put him away.
21:41In fact, AJ is in control.
21:43Gunther's got to have that in his head.
21:45And AJ's lining up something big here.
21:47He takes victory.
21:49Off the top rope.
21:50AJ Styles.
21:52Springboard 450 connects.
21:56And Styles.
21:58Looking for the Styles clash.
22:00Gunther's fighting it, but it's lost.
22:01Styles clashes in.
22:02Come on, AJ.
22:04AJ into the cover.
22:06Shoulders down.
22:07Gunther kicked out.
22:09Oh, God.
22:11Oh, God.
22:13Watch this.
22:13Springboard 450.
22:15You stack this move immediately with your biggest hitter of them all.
22:21A massive frame.
22:22The Styles clash.
22:24It's over.
22:24It's one.
22:25It's two.
22:26It's not over, guys.
22:27It's never over against Gunther.
22:29What does that do to you mentally?
22:32I mean, it's a shock to the system, to everyone in this arena, everyone watching at home.
22:38But AJ Styles thought he was in winner's enclosure.
22:42He thought the career was safe.
22:44It's not.
22:45What else have you got, AJ?
22:46And I would say, one tug of that elbow pad tells us exactly what is coming next.
22:52Gunther slow to his feet.
22:54AJ Styles on the apron.
22:55Looking for his signature move here.
22:58Styles going to launch himself off the top rope.
23:00Went with a phenomenal forearm.
23:01Caught in a sleeper by Gunther.
23:03AJ able to switch into a sleeper of his own.
23:05And Gunther now grabbing the official.
23:09And wait a minute.
23:10That was a low blow.
23:11That was a low blow behind the referee's back.
23:12He grabbed the official and delivered a low blow into a power bomb.
23:16Stacks up AJ.
23:17Not like this.
23:19Styles checks out.
23:20Well, the combo that beat AJ Styles in Dusseldorf three weeks ago simply didn't work tonight.
23:30That damn dirty Gunther grabbed the official to blind the official.
23:36And then delivered that mule kick to Styles.
23:38Going down low into the power bomb.
23:41And Styles survived.
23:43Well, both men at this point, at least in their own minds,
23:47have had this match won only for their opponent to kick out and keep it alive.
23:53And Gunther is not responding well.
23:56Gunther screaming at the official.
23:57Said it should have been a three count.
23:59AJ Styles trying to drag himself back to his feet on what could be the final match of his career.
24:05When the dirty tricks come out, it's because Gunther is in a major panic mode.
24:10Desperate.
24:10Desperate.
24:11But Gunther still has the upper hand.
24:14AJ's reeling.
24:17And now a chop to Styles from Gunther.
24:27Gunther just punishing Styles, torturing Styles.
24:31Now barbarism begins here in Riyadh.
24:36Styles may regret kicking out of that last combo.
24:41Because it only gets worse from here.
24:45Well, the official Dan Angler trying to show some mercy for Styles there.
24:48And Gunther says, the hell with that.
24:50Gunther's become completely unglued at this point.
24:53Well, he thought he had the three count, Wade.
24:54Well, he's normally in full control.
24:57This could play to AJ's advantage if he could somehow climb back into this.
25:01It's difficult to see a way back in.
25:04So beaten up.
25:07So tortured at this point.
25:12Relentless chops after chop after chop.
25:16Might get disqualified.
25:18Are you going to be careful, Gunther?
25:19Gunther's got to be extremely careful.
25:21The referee may even throw this out.
25:26AJ looks like a beaten man here.
25:27There's no way.
25:28There's no way the official could do that with everything that's on the line here.
25:31I get that.
25:32He has to protect competitors.
25:34When competitors cannot fight back.
25:36Keep up.
25:38Make a look, Vince.
25:39Come on.
25:40Come on, AJ.
25:41Come on.
25:42Come on.
25:46Let's go, AJ.
25:48Let's go, AJ.
25:50Let's go, AJ.
25:50And another one.
25:53AJ can't even get his hands up.
25:55Styles has been defenseless from these chops.
25:58He just collapses into Gunther.
26:00Tolerance is great from AJ.
26:02He should have given up a long time ago.
26:04He's as ugly as it comes.
26:07And we talked about Gunther's mind being a compassion-free zone.
26:11This is why this man is the most dangerous man in professional wrestling.
26:17Take it from me.
26:17This man likes no one.
26:21This man is all about himself.
26:23Doesn't care what he does to his competitors.
26:27All he cares about is the win.
26:28Absolutely pitiless, and he's willing AJ to get up and take more of this abuse.
26:34Styles back to his feet.
26:36Styles brushed it off his chest, almost like he was calling for more.
26:40And here comes Styles, fighting back with the forearms.
26:42And a top of his own.
26:43And Styles with a flurry.
26:49And AJ beating down Gunther.
26:51Even Gunther a taste of his own medicine, fighting fire with fire.
26:56Where the hell is AJ pulling this from?
26:59It's about his career.
27:00Everything hangs in the balance weight.
27:02You have to do everything you can to win this match.
27:05AJ looked like a dead man walking, but there's life still.
27:08In the phenomenal water.
27:10Cock in the elbow.
27:12Went with a phenomenal forearm.
27:13Gunther, though, with AJ on his shoulders.
27:18AJ lands on his feet.
27:20Sleeper.
27:20He was trying for the Pele, but Gunther caught him in a sleeper.
27:24Well, Gunther's gone for this sleeper several times.
27:26He hasn't had the heels locked in, but AJ in a severely weakened state is fading.
27:31And the sleeper hold locked in.
27:33The arm slipped underneath the chin.
27:34And look at the positioning of Gunther putting all his own weight on top of the frame of AJ.
27:40And AJ's now collapsed.
27:41AJ's fading.
27:41And look at the hooks.
27:42The hooks are in now.
27:43AJ Styles.
27:45How much does AJ have left?
27:47Can he fight back here?
27:48High drama at the rumble.
27:50Lips are turning blue.
27:52Oh, as they tap out.
27:53Here it is.
27:54Styles fighting back.
27:56Gunther trying to keep the sleeper locked in.
28:00And you got to wonder, was that AJ Styles' last gasp effort?
28:05Well, the lights are really fading now, Cole.
28:09AJ's going to tap here.
28:11There's no way out.
28:15AJ trying to fight, trying to fight.
28:18His arm's still going.
28:19Trying to still fight out of Gunther.
28:21Delivering those shots now to the leg of Gunther.
28:24AJ on his belly.
28:25But Gunther's still with that sleeper locked in.
28:27Not even more pressure put on the body of AJ as he's desperately trying to suck in some hair.
28:32Trying to make it to the ropes, AJ.
28:33Fingertips away.
28:34Can he make it to the ropes to force a break here and survive?
28:37So close.
28:39Tantalizingly close to some respite.
28:41And Fagan again.
28:43Oh, no.
28:43AJ Styles.
28:45Can he make it to the ropes?
28:46How much does AJ have left?
28:47He's a fingertip away.
28:49Gunther drags him back.
28:51Drags him back away from the ropes.
28:53Gunther just has all the answers.
28:55Whatever you try, he has a reply for it.
29:00And this is getting damn ugly now.
29:02And now the sweeper really locked in.
29:06AJ with nowhere to go.
29:08AJ Styles.
29:10How much does AJ have left the career, the legacy of AJ Styles fades to black?
29:22Here's your winner, the ring general, Gunther!
29:46Gunther!
29:47Gunther!
29:52The lore of Gunther grows.
30:04The mystique heightened.
30:08The career killer is indeed just that.
30:13I noticed AJ, when he woke up, I think it's finally dawning on him now.
30:26He's asking the official what happened.
30:29He's completely out of it.
30:30I don't think I've ever heard a crowd as packed as this fall so silent in shock.
30:36And this was just the, a small piece of the absolute brutal warfare that Gunther brought tonight.
30:45And it looked like AJ was done.
30:47These were the final embers burning in AJ.
30:50Desperately trying to get something started.
30:52And this was the end here.
30:54The beginning of the end.
30:55Going for that phenomenal forearm.
30:57Gunther had it scouted.
31:00And then straight into this sleeper.
31:03And it was a long, long time in that sleeper.
31:06AJ trying anything and everything.
31:09Desperately grinding out of there time and again.
31:12And everything AJ tried.
31:14Gunther came up with something else.
31:17And finally, look at the pain on the referee's face.
31:20He doesn't want to do this, but he has to.
31:22It's his job.
31:23The career's over.
31:25AJ is out.
31:26You got to feel for the official long time friend of AJ Styles.
31:30You have to feel for the 25,000 here tonight of the millions watching at home.
31:39It's a lot of history, but a lot of history you ever want to be a witness to.
35:16It's hard to leave, isn't it?
35:23You see the regret in the eyes of AJ Styles and, of course, his entire audience.
35:29There's the brakes.
35:31Thank you, AJ.
36:11Their pulled wrong, Their pulled wrong
36:15Their pulled wrong They don't hold wrong
36:19Uhh, that doesn't mean that they've lost
