00:00Hello. Thank you for watching today.
00:16Today's topic is the top 10 smartest animals.
00:22Intelligence for animals has different standards than it does for humans.
00:28For example, survivability.
00:32Humans are unlikely to be eaten by other animals, but in the animal kingdom, the ability to survive is also a sign of intelligence.
00:43And to humans, this can sometimes seem comical or a unique creativity.
00:52Here we look at animal intelligence from various angles.
00:58Number 10 is octopus.
01:03They have a fairly large brain relative to their body size.
01:09This brain gives octopuses vision abilities that few other animals possess, as well as problem-solving and tool-using skills.
01:20In addition, they have excellent short-term memory and can even solve puzzles and mazes.
01:29Number 9 is the rat.
01:34Rats are widely used as experimental animals, but they are also very intelligent considering the size of their brains, and in experiments they often surprise scientists by solving problems in ways that even scientists had not noticed.
01:54Also, just like humans, they can objectively assess their own abilities, sense danger from dangerous objects, and express emotions.
02:10Number 8 is diss.
02:13Dis is considered to be a creative outlet.
02:17For example, Dis will use all sorts of creative methods to try and steal food from a bird feeder set up in a tree in the garden.
02:31And in the end, they usually take the food away.
02:37They also have an excellent ability to remember the locations of food hidden in many places.
02:48Number seven is glass.
02:51Glass has the intelligence to use people and other things.
02:55For example, to crack open hard nuts, they place them on the road and have a car pull them over.
03:04In fact, crows boast one of the largest brains of any bird.
03:10This allows it to recognize human faces and use tools.
03:15They also sometimes act in groups to achieve their goals.
03:24In sixth place is the sea otter.
03:27Sea otters are considered to be among the most intelligent creatures in the ocean.
03:35For example, imagination in play.
03:40You can even dance and use the banks to play on the slides.
03:46They also feed on hard-shelled crabs, crayfish, and oysters, using rocks to crack them open and skillfully removing the bones and parts they dislike.
03:57Number 5 is the pig.
04:02Many people seem to underestimate the intelligence of pigs, but they are highly social animals.
04:12They eat, walk, and sleep together.
04:18They also communicate through various noises.
04:24In addition, they are very clean and do not defecate in their own beds.
04:30And best of all, you can find your way back home without getting lost, even from far away places.
04:40In fourth place is the elephant.
04:43Elephants have the largest brains of any land animal.
04:48And like pigs, they have a very social nature.
04:55They can perform complex tasks and learn from their surroundings and experiences.
05:03They also have a strong sense of camaraderie, and if something goes wrong, they deal with it as a group.
05:08In addition, they are very expressive and use tools to express their emotions when they are happy or sad.
05:18In third place is the dog.
05:23It is said that a dog's intelligence is about the same as a two-year-old human child.
05:28They have a high level of understanding and can understand human commands, and with proper training they can perform a variety of roles.
05:38It is also believed that they can read human emotions and respond accordingly.
05:46However, what is particularly noteworthy is their sense of smell, which is said to be able to distinguish between one million different smells.
05:54In second place is the dolphin.
06:00Dolphins are said to have exceptional abilities, even in the animal kingdom.
06:05They can express emotions such as laughter, perform complex tasks, and learn from their surroundings.
06:14In addition, underwater they use ultrasonic sounds to communicate with other fish and hunt.
06:22And amazingly, when dolphins sleep, they only sleep on one side of their brain.
06:32This method of sleeping prevents them from suffering from oxygen deprivation underwater and protects them from external enemies.
06:42Now, we come to number one.
06:45Number one is the ape.
06:47Apes, such as monkeys, are quite close to humans and are therefore capable of many human-like behaviors and activities.
06:57For example, all apes have the ability to learn from and communicate with their environment.
07:05They can also understand complex work processes, and with training, they can communicate with humans using sign language.
07:15And like humans, they are sociable and have rich emotions.
07:20What did you think?
07:26Have you been surprised by the intelligence of some unexpected animals?
07:30Even the animals not included in this ranking have survived by utilizing their unique abilities in their respective environments.
07:39If we examine their survival abilities, we may discover a different type of intelligence.
07:49Well, that's all for now, see you again soon.
07:55Goodbye.
07:56Thank you for watching.
