00:00You
00:05Hello everyone, this is Venma Pehan. Today, today's session is about
00:10something very useful and practical. How to create a web server in a Linux VM and
00:15copy it to another AWS region. Think of it like setting up something great
00:20once and then reusing it anywhere with no extra effort. Let's walk through
00:25how we make that happen. So here we go.
00:30We have already launched our Linux instance before
00:35so we will skip that part here. So what we are doing next is set up
00:40to the web server automatically using this script. Test it using the instance
00:44public TNN.
00:45Create an AMI, a backup image of our server.
00:50Copy that image to another region. Launch a new instance using that image.
00:55And finally test the web server in that new region. It is like taking
01:00something well made and reusing it without rebuilding from scratch.
01:05This is today's analogy. Sharing notebook. Now imagine that
01:10this you have made a perfect study notebook. Neatly returned with the diagram
01:15tips and tricks. Basically your ideal reference book. Your friends
01:20who studies in another school wants to learn the same subject. You can't go there.
01:25But you can't send your notebook. That's what we are doing here.
01:30So you prepare your notebook. That is like creating your web server.
01:35You photocopy it. That's creating an AMI. You mail it to
01:40another city that is copying the AMI to a new region. Your friends
01:45study.
01:45that is from it and get same result. That's launching a new
01:50instance with the same setup.
01:55Amazon.
01:56Amazon.
01:57Linux.
01:58Linux.
01:59VM.
02:00será.
02:02So
02:03choose t2
02:04micro
02:05.
02:05I mean, select Amazon Linux, choose D2 Micro which is free tier, add
02:10a script in user data to automatically install and install web server.
02:15Once was app, we tested it by pasting the public TNS.
02:20And it showed our website, I mean web page.
02:25Hmm.
02:30Now we want to save all the setup.
02:32So we create an AMI.
02:34That's.
02:35Like taking a digital snapshot of your instance.
02:40Go to EC2, select instance and select the app.
02:45Click create image.
02:48Give it a name like web server.
02:50database, AMI like that.
02:52And leave everything else default.
02:54Click create.
02:55AWS will handle the rest.
02:59So.
03:00Now we want to take.
03:05Select the setup to another region.
03:07Say something.
03:08Say from.
03:10Mumbai to Oregon.
03:11So.
03:12Mumbai to Oregon.
03:13So.
03:14They.
03:15Windows.
03:16Choose support.
03:17Safari to positioning.
03:18Learn.
03:19Click on kms section select your image.
03:20Click action color across console.
03:20copy AMI choose a target region
03:25and give it a new name like copied web server AMI click
03:30copy and AWS will send your setup to the new region just like me
03:35mailing in notepop
03:39now
03:40switch your AWS console to the new region go to AMI
03:45and you will find the copied AMI there click launch
03:50select the same instance type
03:52go with default setting
03:54once
03:55it's launched paste the new public DNS in the browser
03:59and
04:00your website is live in the new region
04:04with
04:05zero manual setup
04:07so
04:08this method
04:10is super useful when you want faster server replic
04:15notification
04:16need disaster recovery in the
04:18in other regions
04:20or a building global application
04:22or simply want to avoid repeating the same setup
04:25again and again
04:26setup once
04:28reuse forever
04:29touch side
04:30you
04:32thank you
