00:00After a decade-long hiatus, the Asian Beach Games are set to return from April 22 to 30 in the well-known resort city of Sanya, located in Hainan Province, South China.
00:12A total of 63 gold medals across 14 different sports will be at stake in the sixth edition of the Games.
00:18The Philippines will send a delegation of 180 athletes who will compete in events such as 3x3 basketball, open water swimming, water polo, aquathlon, beach athletics, beach handball, beach cabate, beach soccer, beach volleyball, beach wrestling, dragon boat, jiu-jitsu, sailing, sports climbing, and tech ball.
00:40Officials from Sanya also announced the city's readiness to host the Games during a world press briefing and world broadcaster's meeting attended by journalists from Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
00:54The presentation featured the competition venues, the Ring Theater, which will host the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the island's tourist destinations.
01:03Participation is expected from 45 national Olympic committees under the Olympic Council of Asia, with Australia and the Solomon Islands, Tahiti, and New Zealand also invited to take part.
01:15The Asian Beach Games are supported by the Olympic Council of Asia and are being organized by the local government of Sanya and Hainan Province, in cooperation with the Chinese Olympic Committee.
