00:00I love Japan. It's this crazy theme park of a country. Japan is not one enormous sprawling
00:14city. You can get away from it if you want to. You can get out in the mountains. You
00:17can see some natural Japan that's still left to see. Time to do some camping, get in the
00:21water, have some fun.
00:25Justin and I are dropping everything and just going to travel the world for a year.
00:30I gave up quite a bit of stuff to do this. I just always thought there was definitely
00:33something missing, like traveling.
00:39That travel bug gets in you and it's got you. One whole year goes by in a blink.
01:00It's time to just slow down and relax and coming out here into the mountains to Khoisan is just
01:03the perfect place to do it. When it comes to these road trips, sometimes you make a wrong
01:07turn and it's usually for the best. You travel down the road less travel. Places that people
01:11don't get to go to and it just becomes something for yourself. When you're stuck on a train or a plane, you're
01:17have to go in a certain direction. The freedom of having a car is like you can go wherever you want, whenever you want.
01:21Our friend Neil is along for the ride with us. He's going to act as a tour guy to do it.
01:26It's time to just go to the road. It's time to slow down and relax and coming out here into the mountains to Khoisan is just the perfect place to do it.
01:28When it comes to these road trips, sometimes you make a wrong turn and it's usually for the best. You travel down the road less travel. Places that people don't get to go to and it just becomes something for yourself.
01:39You know, when you're stuck on a train or a plane, you have to go in a certain direction. The freedom of having a car is like you can go wherever you want, whenever you want.
01:46Our friend Neil is along for the ride with us. He's going to act as a tour guide and a little bit of a translator as well.
01:53Just on the outskirts of Khoisan, we saw the cemetery off to the side of the road. This thing is enormous. It just keeps going and going and going.
02:03Before I came to Japan, I expected this futuristic city that just went from coast to coast, north and south, nothing but wall to wall people.
02:13This is a real escape from the big cities like Osaka and Tokyo that we've spent most of our time in.
02:20Am I close? Am I all the way around? No? No.
02:26Am I going to tell you what the sake is for?
02:29They put whatever the person's favorite food or drink was on the gravesite so they never go thirsty.
02:34So like mine will be covered in sake. In robe. And pizza.
02:38I have a feeling that this is like cleansing of some sort. Because all water always means cleansing so...
02:54I think you just... I don't know why we'd be cleansing these guys because these guys...
02:59I mean it's just showing respect. I don't know. I'm just doing what that guy's doing.
03:08I have a soft spot for Japan. It's strange and new and different. It's a real cultural experience.
03:25We just saw this hawk carrying a snake in its talons and then finally it just dropped the snake and then the hawk just took off.
03:33Two wildlife sightings in one.
03:35There's a place that we found online that we really want to camp tonight. It's close by so hopefully it's not too hard to find.
03:41And it should be a really nice drive to get there through the mountains.
03:44There was a fork in the road here and the GPS didn't tell me which way to go so I just pulled over. I'm just trying to figure out which way is which.
03:58I'm kind of promoting Scott from the big brother to the father figure or even the grandpa of travel because he seriously could do anything and everything.
04:10What? Oh geez. This is going to be a big detour. What do you think Justin?
04:17The road is closed. Where was the GPS on that one?
04:22We got flat? No.
04:24Oh the road is closed.
04:26Probably doubling back all the way to where we started from unless GPS master Scott can figure out an alternate route.
04:34I don't know if it would have been a big help if I was awake or not but.
04:38It's going to be a bit of a hike to get back to Koyasan in order for us to take a new route to get around this.
04:45This GPS is a lot smarter than I gave it credit for.
04:51We turned around to start backtracking and it automatically updated and knew that there was construction there and has already programmed a detour around it.
05:01Oh there's some monkeys that have just taken off of this fencing that prevents the rock slides.
05:07There's one right there.
05:09This is where I say goodbye.
05:12Back and join your family?
05:14I'm out of here.
05:15Monkey see, monkey do.
05:27I think it looks so easy.
05:29Can I still come back on the trip?
05:30No!
05:33I just wanted to live in the trees with the monkeys.
05:37Just picking up some supplies for camping tonight and got some charcoal and some lighter fluid.
05:41And a shovel to hopefully dig our own onsen in the riverbed.
05:45An onsen is the Japanese word for a naturally occurring hot spring that they use as a public bath.
05:51They occur in just about every city, town, and village in the whole of Japan.
05:56Dude, I can need one of these, man.
05:59This is all.
06:00Yeah, right.
06:01Oh, that's like the same price.
06:02That's an all-metal one there.
06:03Can we get Donkey Tang Mao?
06:04Every time we go shopping for supplies, you get sidetracked.
06:05My idea of having fun and Scott's idea of having fun are two different things.
06:10I always kind of get nervous when Scott takes the reins and doesn't control the situation as far as what we're doing.
06:22We're going to use this to dig our own onsen in a riverbed that's hopefully just down the street.
06:26I'll attempt to ask for directions, see how successful that goes.
06:41Keep your eyes peeled for like a campground.
06:43There's more outdoor onsens.
06:45That's awesome.
06:47Five hundred.
06:52Five bucks?
06:53That's it?
06:54Yeah.
06:55Wow.
06:56We can find cheaper somewhere else.
07:00I want to pretend.
07:02Is the water cold?
07:03Yeah.
07:04The water's cold.
07:09Apparently the theory is if you dig a hole here, the ground is what?
07:14What's that big word you used?
07:17Geothermal?
07:18Geothermically heated.
07:20Keep digging.
07:21The river itself is kind of warm, but I mean I just dug a small hole and it's not like it's hot.
07:28All I've been here today is him talking about onsen, onsen, onsen.
07:32So that's Scott's thing.
07:39It's kind of hot.
07:40I love the onsen experience.
07:41It's a great place to unwind and it's a huge part of Japanese culture.
07:44It's something that I find very relaxing and something that I wish was incorporated in more places.
07:51It's not hot.
07:55It's not hot.
07:57I don't get it.
07:58All right.
07:59Yeah.
08:00Let's set up plants.
08:01We should set up camp before it gets dark.
08:04Yeah.
08:05Or before it rains.
08:06Yeah.
08:07I don't know if this onsen thing is going to work out or not, but there's for sure onsen's in town.
08:12So we're getting in an onsen.
08:14It may not be tonight.
08:15It might be in the morning, but we're getting in an onsen regardless.
08:17Whether it's indoor, outdoor.
08:18I don't care.
08:19Onsen's happening.
08:21We bought this bag of chopsticks because that was the only dry wood we could find in town.
08:25Yeah.
08:28This thing is roaring already.
08:30I don't know how long this burns for though.
08:31We've got another one of those.
08:32We've also got some like flammable gel in case we need it as well, but we should probably get that in a lighter away from the fire.
08:39Cheers boys.
08:40Japan has the perfect natural setting to be a camper's heaven.
08:50But at the same time, the campgrounds that they do have are very well serviced.
08:55These are the washing machines.
08:57Here's your beer vending machine.
08:58Tea.
08:59Every fruit juice you could imagine.
09:01Coffee.
09:02Telephone.
09:03Cigarettes.
09:04Bathroom.
09:05That's Justin.
09:06We're going to head down this way and see how far we need to go before we can dig our own onsen.
09:23They're deckled.
09:27Magically, all of a sudden there's like pockets of hot earth.
09:32And this is better than any indoor onsen I've ever done.
09:36Getting in and out of the water there, I wish we could have stayed there for days.
09:39I tried doing a belly flop.
09:40I thought I was doing it, but apparently they said I wasn't.
09:42But Neil nailed one and looked pretty sharp.
09:47The water was just like really, really warm.
09:49It's just like getting in a hot tub.
09:50Talk about recharging.
09:51That's the way to recharge.
09:53We stopped to put some gas in the tank.
10:10As soon as I pulled over, as you can see behind me, they just sprang to it and started wiping the car down and filling it up.
10:16It's the kind of service you used to get at a service station I think probably back in the 1950s.
10:21This is probably the best service I've ever gotten in my whole entire life.
10:24He washed all the windows and he washed this strip that was just like just a little bit showing.
10:29Never in my life have I seen a gas station that stops traffic for you to get back onto the road again.
10:44Welcome to Japan.
10:45I'm kind of a little bit homesick.
10:50The good days are good and the bad days, you know, they're not so good.
10:53And you do get sad and you do miss people.
10:55We're doing this now and no turning back.
10:58So, you know, luckily I got Scott here and Andre and Neil and stuff to, you know, bring my spirits up.
11:03And I do the same for those guys.
11:04We're all doing this together.
11:05Renting a car has its upsides and downsides.
11:16It allows you a certain freedom to get places you would normally never be able to go.
11:20The downside is when you make mistakes, you have no one else to blame but yourself.
11:24Sometimes those mistakes, sometimes those dead ends and wrong turns end up being the best part of the trip.
11:30Well, yep, yep, that's it.
11:33Apparently where we were going to camp tonight, the land's been sold.
11:37Basically nowhere to sleep right now.
11:38I'm going to go see if we can pull that chain off and I can just pull the car right back here and be hidden.
11:43Yeah, go get the car, dude.
11:47The decision was to park the car in tight and set up camp.
11:51If someone comes, they come.
11:52We're only going to be here for the night and off early in the morning.
11:54We don't really feel like paying for a hotel or going anywhere else after driving this far.
11:59You know, we couldn't even have a fire or anything.
12:01We just kind of set up camp and then went straight to bed.
12:03There's no one even over here.
12:07I woke up to a truck driving by.
12:09They stopped and they talked and they were like,
12:11hey, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, another language.
12:13And I was just kind of like, yeah, yeah.
12:20The car has to be back today, so we got to get back to Osaka.
12:23Easy in, easy out.
12:31Neil has decided to split ways.
12:33He's going to go back to Osaka and kind of visit some friends
12:35and we're going to kind of keep going further south
12:37and hopefully we'll meet up with him later on the trip.
12:40We just dropped off the car and kind of sad to see it go.
12:44It gave us a lot of freedom and got us to a lot of places that we wouldn't otherwise have gotten to.
12:48Me and you in the back seat, keeping it real.
12:51Yeah, we did our best.
12:55We're now back down to just the two of us.
12:57Oh, the three of us.
12:58Just the two, three of us.
13:00Neil's going to stay behind.
13:01We are off now to Hiroshima and it's a constant travel south.
13:06.
13:36August 6, 1945, the first atomic bomb used. It exploded just southeast, I believe, of this building.
13:45This was pretty much the only building left within two to four kilometer radius.
13:49The rest of the city around it completely rebuilt, obviously, and blossomed into any other kind of Japanese city.
13:56I was always a bit of a World War II buff.
14:00I just love to read the stories about it. It's so easy to lose touch of what happened even 50 years ago.
14:05It's a pretty evil moment in the history of mankind, really.
14:09Survivors of the explosion are dwindling. Survivors of the war are dwindling. Veterans are dwindling.
14:16There's a lot of respect here, and I'm glad that there is, and I'm glad that there's so much work that goes into this and keeping it this way.
14:23Because as every year passes, it's going to be more and more important to have something like this around.
14:28When you go around the world seeing stuff, there can't all be laughs and good times and stuff.
14:37You know, sometimes you've got to sit back and go see things like this and hope that something like this never happens again.
14:43After leaving Hiroshima, we took a short train ride a couple of stops into kind of the suburbs.
14:54And you get off at this one stop for Miyajima, and there's a JR ferry there.
14:59Everything shuts down around 6 o'clock because that's when most of the tourists have left.
15:03You come across at night and there's nobody. You feel like you're almost in a ghost town.
15:09You come to the station, and there's just deer in the station.
15:17This is a pretty cool place, dude. There are deer everywhere here.
15:22That deer has the only map in this city. Look at him. He's just eating it up.
15:27Can you at least give us directions how to get to the campsite?
15:32You can call him Black Sox.
15:34Hey Black Sox, are you a raccoon? Are you a fox?
15:38I got nothing to pick you from.
15:42Give me a noodle, dude. Don't bite me.
15:45Okay, just chill out. I'll get you some more.
15:51I'm sitting here sweating my balls off.
15:54It's aching my back so that you can feed some raccoon.
15:57That's not a raccoon. That's a fox raccoon.
16:00That's all I got, dude. That's it, dude.
16:07Okay, bye Black Sox.
16:09The campsite was on the opposite side of the island.
16:13Holy shit. All you see is like all these deer eyes. Just glowing.
16:18It feels nice to get my shirt off. It's so hot.
16:22I think it's just been a sponge just absorbing how I sweat.
16:27But I've got my own tent.
16:29The whole world is your personal petting school.
16:48I love animals.
16:50I'm like, what's up, beard?
16:51He's like, yeah, I'm just chilling.
16:52I'm like, yeah, I know what you're talking about.
16:53Word.
16:54He's like, where are you standing?
16:55I'm like, campsite.
16:56He's like, dog, why don't you call me when you're going to tell him?
16:57I'm like, hey, I got no cellies.
16:58He's like, ah, snap.
17:06Different strokes for different folks.
17:08You put these in your stomach for the day, they ain't going nowhere,
17:11and they'll last all day.
17:13Yeah.
17:14We'll see.
17:15Look at that.
17:20It's still done.
17:23Delicious.
17:24Scrumptious almost.
17:25Miyajima is a real tourist hotspot,
17:28and you've got to know that coming here.
17:30From this level, the Tori is what you want to see and take your pictures of.
17:33The only other goal I have for this place is to get to the top and see the view,
17:37and to do that by trying to avoid the, you know, shit show.
17:42Yeah.
17:43And there's monkeys up there sometimes too, so.
17:45Like, there's apparently a way to hike up it instead of taking the cable cart.
17:50Yeah.
17:51I don't know if this is going to be the easiest hike,
17:53especially with this kind of humidity and stuff that's still lingering in the air.
17:56Do we even have any water?
17:58No, but if I know Japan, we won't ever be more than a hundred meters away from a vending machine.
18:05Neil gave us the heads up if we came up here that there's a trail to hit up.
18:10It'd be nice just to have a bit of a challenge and see something new and different in order to get to the top.
18:23Not so bad. We're almost there.
18:25I thought those pancakes would last me longer, but they didn't.
18:27The pancakes do nothing. Water to help right now.
18:30Another 1.5 to the top.
18:32Where's the monkeys? Where are the monkeys?
18:37That's the good news. We're past the halfway point now.
18:431.1 to the top, 1.4 to the bottom.
18:46Do for the monkeys.
18:47I guarantee you at the top there's going to be water.
18:51The hike up these stairs started off easy enough,
18:54but you multiply that by the kilometer and a half that it is to the top,
18:59and it gets really tiring.
19:01There are better than monkeys up here.
19:13All they got is green tea and carbonated water.
19:16Carbonated water.
19:18Who the fuck wants carbonated water?
19:20I just want water, dude.
19:23There's good news and bad news.
19:25The bad news is this isn't the top.
19:27The good news is it's not that much further,
19:29and there's probably something else up there you can get actual water from.
19:53You can't get a view like that anywhere,
20:12and it just feels that much more rewarding having walked all the way up,
20:17and you see all these people who have just come off the cable car,
20:19and kind of think, you know, well, sure it's easy to take the car right to the top,
20:23but I earned this view.
20:24You know, we're watching this military ship come by,
20:27and then within seconds you can see all this cloud just eat up the entire view.
20:32One question for you.
20:34Where are my monkeys?
20:35I don't know.
20:36Sometimes you come up here and you don't see them at all.
20:38If you want, we can walk all the way down,
20:40and maybe we'll have more luck seeing monkeys.
20:43But if you want to take the rope car down,
20:45then hopefully there's somewhere between here and the rope car.
20:47Do they run the rope car?
20:48They probably do.
20:50We've pretty much seen and done what we wanted to do on Miyajima,
21:00and we're heading south again.
21:02I had all my stuff in one locker on this side of the terminal,
21:06and Justin had all of his stuff on that side,
21:08and Andre had all of his stuff on that side.
21:10And I went to get my stuff.
21:11I brought it in here out of the rain,
21:12and Andre's like, where's Justin?
21:14I'm like, I haven't seen him since we went to our lockers.
21:16Long and the short of it is Justin is missing.
21:19I'm going to get on this boat and see if he's on the other side.
21:21JR West Ferry.
21:23I'm exhausted from that hike.
21:26I'm hungry.
21:27I feel gross.
21:28It's pouring rain leaving Miyajima,
21:30and now I've lost Justin.
21:32Maybe he's on that boat.
21:33Hi Justin.
21:34I hate you.
21:35Thank you for sailing with JR West Ferrys today.
21:38Have you seen him?
21:39Not yet.
21:46Howdy boys!
21:47Did you get scared there for a second?
21:49I wasn't scared.
21:50I was just mad.
21:51Were you mad?
21:52Why would he leave?
21:53Why would he just go straight for the boat?
21:55I'm like, well maybe they're down by the dock, right?
21:57So I got my pass out, went through the pass,
22:00and I'm walking down the dock,
22:02and all of a sudden it just goes beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep.
22:05I'm like, aw, shit, they're probably on there.
22:07So I just start booking it on there.
22:09I get on, I run around the thing,
22:11and I'm like, they're not on here,
22:12and they just start moving away,
22:13and I'm like,
22:15everybody's all freaking out.
22:17I'm alive.
22:27That's the plane that we're taking for a one-hour flight
22:30from here to Okinawa.
22:32The good news is,
22:33is we know we're hooking back up with Neo,
22:35which means we get our,
22:36our kind of translator slash tour guide back.
22:51We are in Okinawa now,
22:53and if the view from the plane is any indicator,
22:55it looks like a pretty sweet spot.
22:57Looking for the big cat.
22:58Meow.
22:59There he is.
23:00He's down there.
23:05Just got to call my friend,
23:06and we'll figure out how to get to our place.
23:08We're meeting up with Paul and Catherine,
23:10two of Neil's friends down here in Okinawa,
23:13and they're going to show us a little bit of the sights,
23:15smells, and even tastes of Okinawa.
23:17Kanpai.
23:37You can taste the snake.
23:38There's a perfect thing for that little lady at home.
23:47Well I got you this whole wall here.
23:49Put your makeup in there and everything.
23:51You gotta adjust it, it's not too late for Mother's Day.
23:56In Okinawa, Goya is like really really famous.
23:59Goya.
24:00And it's known for being like super super bitter.
24:02Like really really bitter.
24:03So some people really really love it and some people really really hate it.
24:07You guys will try it.
24:08Can't get any of this snake pepper.
24:10This is it here.
24:11And it looks like an enormous pickle or something.
24:16One, two, three, go.
24:26Arigato.
24:29Cameraman's idea to do that.
24:31So we're like we're not walking away without making him taste it.
24:34He's like you guys gotta drink it.
24:35So now it looks so refreshing.
24:38Good.
24:39Stop.
24:40No, stop, stop.
24:41That's it.
24:42Tell me what it tastes like.
24:44It's alright actually.
24:45It tastes like, um, did everybody eat raw green peas?
24:48Oh there it is.
24:52After World War II when this entire island was carpet bombed and obliterated,
24:56they had nothing and they had to eat anything they could find,
24:59which was every single part of the animals they still had.
25:04You can buy his face.
25:05This where I come from is a mask for Halloween.
25:09Very nice.
25:10Very nice.
25:13You have to pick face.
25:15What is that?
25:16This is heart.
25:17What was that?
25:18Face.
25:19I'm more of a face guy before the heart.
25:22That's pretty good.
25:24This is good.
25:25So fun.
25:27Surprisingly.
25:30I'll go for this one I guess.
25:36You can have my face.
25:38It's on me right now, dude.
25:39I'm not you.
25:40I'm not you.
25:46It's putting it down.
25:47I can't talk.
25:49It's okay.
25:50Once you go to...
25:51About here.
25:52It just slides.
25:53The gravity does the rest.
25:54But the funny thing is,
25:55she just keeps handing new snouts and entrails to Neil.
26:03Just getting a rental car to explore the island a little better than you would be able to by bus.
26:08Hopefully we'll be out of here a little bit long.
26:10Not too shortly.
26:11And on our way to the beach or somewhere nice.
26:15You really feel like you're someplace far, far away from typical Japan.
26:19And I love that surprise back there.
26:21A hidden portion or something new.
26:23And if it wasn't for the language,
26:25if you just drifted ashore here,
26:27you would probably never know that this was Japanese.
26:32Well, we left Catherine and Paul behind because they had to work,
26:34but they had suggested Hiji waterfalls here,
26:36so we're going to have a look.
26:43Great view.
26:44Thanks, guys.
26:49It's insanely hot right now.
26:51It makes sense.
26:52It is,
26:53for all intents and purposes,
26:54a tropical island.
26:56To put it into geographic perspective,
26:58it's on the same latitude as Miami and Bermuda.
27:01It makes sense.
27:02It makes sense.
27:03That was a pretty easy hike, but it's super, super humid.
27:06So it's just really, really hot and worked up a pretty good sweat.
27:11And all I'm thinking right now is jumping in that water.
27:18I'm thinking right now is jumping in that water.
27:48to find out a cool way to make fresh SURE coming here.
27:50All I've ever seen today,
27:51but we have to think.
27:52We're seeing a bit of a good color.
27:53We're doing it.
27:54We're looking for a perfect perfect sunset.
27:55On Yugaji Island,
27:56apparently this little island just off the shore has some pretty decent beaches.
28:00And we're looking for a place to camp.
28:01And we're looking for a place to catch a nice sunset.
28:05On Ugadji Island, apparently this little island just off the shore has some pretty decent
28:12beaches.
28:13We're looking for a place to camp and we're looking for a place to catch a nice sunset,
28:17so...
28:18Hot women.
28:19Sorry?
28:20Hot women.
28:21Hot local chicks.
28:22The big cat.
28:23I don't even know why I call him the big cat.
28:25I like hanging out with that guy.
28:26Guy's real fun.
28:27He gets a lot of my jokes, which is really, really good.
28:35It honestly feels like I'm back home in Hawaii.
28:38Just the weather, the water, the sand, beaches, you know, enjoying your friends, enjoying life.
28:45This is what it comes down to.
28:48Friends, dance, flirt, and what was the other one?
28:55Dance, friends, flirt, dance, friends, friends, what was dance, flirt, it was chill.
29:04Life is all about four things to me.
29:06Dance, friends, chill.
29:10Oh, shit.
29:11Chill, dance, friends, and flirt.
29:15That's all I need in life.
29:17Doing the road trip thing with two friends that I went to high school with and on some
29:25little tropical Japanese island off the southern coast of Japan is pretty unreal.
29:30The sunrise this morning was gorgeous.
29:32I never pictured Japan in this kind of context.
29:37And having Neil back was such a great surprise, such a great re-addition to the team.
29:43We're going to see a bit more of Okinawa today and I'm really looking forward to it.
29:48I'm not usually the museum kind of guy, but the fact that this has the world's largest
29:53aquarium is pretty intriguing.
29:55I'm not usually the world's largest aquarium.
32:39In the interest of trying to save some money, actually...
32:43Which one's which?
32:45Just smell it.
32:47Smells like diesel, diesel.
32:49No, no, no.
32:50They're all gas.
32:51They're just different octaves.
32:53Don't worry, boys, it's under control.
33:03Press the green button.
33:05Now, put the money in.
33:07You want to eat some?
33:08Yeah, that's what that thing's saying.
33:17Now, I think I'm getting somewhere.
33:19There you go.
33:20There's something.
33:21Banzai!
33:23Rishito, please take a look.
33:26Yeah, Rishito.
33:28Now, where's my change-o?
33:30Somehow ripped it off, $1.04.
33:34In the end, if all I lost was $1.04, that's better than I thought in the beginning.
33:38I thought maybe I wasn't going to get any gas at all, so...
33:41We'll just fill up the rest at some other place.
33:43I think we might have just put diesel in this thing.
33:54Remember I said smell it?
33:56Yeah, I know, I know.
33:57I didn't smell it, though.
33:58Yeah, it's diesel.
34:00Yeah, it's diesel.
34:02Yeah, it's diesel.
34:03It's diesel.
34:04I'm sure of it.
34:07Okay.
34:09It has to go up on a hoist and it has to be drained.
34:12Yeah.
34:13My Japanese better be good enough to fix this one.
34:15Why does every pump have diesel?
34:17I'll have to look up how to say we put diesel in this car.
34:21How do you even tell people what we just did?
34:23Watashi wa baka gaijin, which means I'm a stupid foreigner.
34:28We could be here like for like three, four hours, man.
34:31I have no idea.
34:32We have rental car.
34:34Okay.
34:36We are in car now.
34:39Car broke down.
34:41Maybe engine?
34:43We don't know why.
34:44Kaputski.
34:49Where?
34:50Where?
34:51Why police office?
35:05But why?
35:07No accident.
35:09The cops are here now.
35:11This is just got interesting.
35:13No, no accident.
35:14No accident.
35:15No accident.
35:16Just...
35:17We said no accident.
35:20No accident.
35:21He said police.
35:22I said no police.
35:23No.
35:24No.
35:25Hi.
35:26Hi.
35:27Can you call rental company to say no accident?
35:46I guess all is well that ends well.
35:48We got a cab back here into Naha City, so we're just going to stay with Catherine and Paul
35:52again tonight.
35:53Have a crack at the beach life tomorrow, I guess, eh?
35:56A year from now, I'll go home and there'll be some Japanese bill in the mail.
35:59We are going to Zamami Island.
36:06The weather looks beautiful again.
36:08Another day in paradise here in Okinawa.
36:10Looking really forward to getting off the main island and over to some more uncharted territory.
36:14And we're taking the first boat of the day.
36:16We're taking the last boat home, so we're going to try to maximize our time on the island.
36:20While Scott was buying tickets to get on the boat, I found my buddy.
36:24I like Scott.
36:25It started out as a weird day because Justin...
36:29He almost made us late for the ferry because he had to go buy this dolphin puppet.
36:33I don't know why.
36:34His name's Yoshi.
36:35My name's Yoshi.
36:37Everything you buy in Japan, you call Yoshi.
36:40Look at his chocolate bar.
36:41I got dinner last night, Yoshi.
36:43I got dinner last night, Yoshi.
36:45He was so into this puppet for the day.
36:55After a while, I just started laughing it off and that's just it.
36:59Mom, we should get loaded tonight.
37:11Get wasted.
37:12Alright, but can you stop talking to me now?
37:14Is that cool?
37:15Yeah.
37:16Please?
37:17I found a little beach here.
37:45The water is super, super, super clear.
37:48Beautiful, beautiful blue.
37:50And we're waiting for Scott and Neil to show up.
37:54And...
37:55Just me and Yoshi.
37:56Right, Yoshi?
37:57Yeah.
37:58It's going to take forever to get here.
38:00I mean, what the problem is being a bunch of idiots.
38:03Fuck, you're looking so well to get here.
38:06That stupid puppet.
38:08Neil's feeling him.
38:10I loved him.
38:11Well, I want to know I want to get in the water.
38:14From?
38:15He knew I didn't want that puppet around.
38:17He's like, what are you bringing this puppet for?
38:19This is stupid.
38:20He has the most uncanny attachment to animals, both artificial and real.
38:29It's a puppet, man.
38:30This is funny.
38:31This is funny shit.
38:32Scott's really hoping I get rid of Yoshi and Yoshi doesn't come with us for the rest of the trip.
38:36I think Scott really likes me that much.
38:38I will rip it in half and throw it into the ocean.
38:42We just wanted to get away from the crowd a little bit.
38:46You know, we came out from the main island to get away from it all.
38:52People come in and look like an idiot all of a sudden.
38:55I'm going to tell Scott I'm bringing them with me for the rest of the year just to get a reaction out of them.
38:59I can't imagine he has a lot of room in his pack to bring a puppet around the world with him.
39:04God, I hope he doesn't.
39:08I got a little hermit crab here.
39:15Alright, I'll put him back.
39:17There he goes.
39:19Off to buy moon pies and penny whistles.
39:26To Japan and to Okinawa.
39:29Cheers.
39:35Cheers to you, man.
39:36Yeah.
39:37Translator, you got us out of trouble.
39:39When I get back and I'm in the office and I'm just like typing away, I'm just thinking.
39:42I'll be like, wow, this is an intense trip.
39:44Okinawa is like my home away from home.
39:47It's like I'm back in Hawaii.
39:49The girls here are gorgeous.
39:50Gorgeous.
39:51The bar has now been risen in my fur for girls.
39:55Risen?
39:56No.
39:57No, no, no.
39:58Let me say that again.
39:59The bar has been risen to a level.
40:01Crazed.
40:02You say potato, I say tomato, man.
40:06Doesn't matter.
40:07I've just got him speaking Japanese and now I've got to re-teach.
40:10You say potato, I say tomato.
40:12Prison.
40:13I don't care, man.
40:14The grammar police here.
40:15I think Japan for me is going to be a country that I'm looking forward to coming back and
40:22seeing.
40:23The one thing I'm not going to miss is the food.
40:25Sushi, fish, you know, not my style, but there are a lot of aspects of Japan that are
40:29really touching and there's been a lot of great moments.
40:31I feel like I'm ready to move on and see something new now.
40:34And yet there's still a whole lot of Japan that I want to come back and see.
40:40We're on the way back to Tokyo to catch a flight out.
40:43But before we do, we've got one more stop we've got to make.
40:46We're down here in Harajuku on our last day in Tokyo.
40:50Ahhhh!
40:51What's up, Scott?
40:52How you doing here going, Bobby?
40:53Justin has decided to torment the poor locals here in Harajuku with Yoshi.
41:00Who's going to shut up while I stop my sound bite.
41:04Harajuku is important for tourists for two reasons.
41:07Number one, it's a cool fashion district.
41:09And on Sundays, if you're lucky enough to be here on a Sunday like we are,
41:12there's quite the congregation of the Unusual and the Bazaar.
41:16They're weird looking.
41:19And that's why people come down here.
41:21And it almost looks like Halloween down here.
41:23I don't know why you're here.
41:25You know where Justin went?
41:26He hasn't been around all day.
41:28Yeah, no.
41:29He clearly lost his mind and went to go look for it.
41:32I was just upset because I'm stealing thunder.
41:34I'm stealing the show.
41:36So, Yoshi is going to take you through Harajuku.
41:39Take it away, Yoshi.
41:41Ah, thank you so much!
41:44Yay!
41:49Yoshi is not happy with you right now.
41:51He's not pleased.
41:52Yoshi.
41:53Yoshi.
41:54Yoshi.
41:55Yoshi?
41:56Yoshi.
41:57Yoshi.
41:58Yoshi.
41:59Yoshi.
42:00I'm Yoshi, Yoshi, Yoshi, Yoshi, where are you guys going, don't be afraid of me, Yoshi is not happy with you right now, he's not pleased, Yoshi, Yoshi, why am I even calling him by, that stupid puppet, you gotta get rid of him after this trip, your buddies right, yeah, until the end of Japan,
42:30oh mate, Scott said I can come on track, I don't want Scott to touch you anymore, you're a son of a bitch, and I hate you, I will not kiss, smile kiss, on the lips, no tongue, come on man, seriously, no Yoshi, enough Yoshi, alright guys, this is where we leave ya, good cat, you guys have a good trip, eh, yeah man, have any chance he can quit your job,
43:00and come with us?
43:01No.
43:02If I give this to you, you're not going to throw him on the ground, are you?
43:06Travel safe, eh?
43:07Alright, thanks, man.
43:08Just decided to see him go.
43:11I'm talking about Yoshi.
43:13This trip accomplished, I think, exactly what we could have hoped.
43:17It gave us time to wind down a little bit, slow the pace down, and recover.
43:22We did a lot of things that Scott's never done before, and we got to experience a whole
43:26other side of Japan.
43:28I think it's only fair that when you go to someone else's country, you live by their
43:33terms and their standards, their rules, their culture.
43:35Maybe for a split second you completely immerse yourself in that, and you are Japanese, or
43:41you are Jordanian, or you are whatever it is, or as close as you can ever get.
43:50Well, we're leaving the island of Japan to go to the Cook Islands.
43:54We're going to indulge ourselves in the Polynesian culture and see what kind of trouble we can
43:58get ourselves into.
43:59We're headed by people.
44:00We're going to vlog City Halo Team video.
44:02We're going to be able to engage your48ளwircs.com for a project.
44:04Until 11 or around
44:05beim multip sizzling video.
44:06We're going to ask you please.
44:07Andhamナ
44:08We're going to play with you.
44:10And here's our video.
44:11You can do by 다른 commission 1.
