00:00He is in start number one.
00:02There's basically nothing in snowboarding that Victor hasn't done and nothing that Victor can't do.
00:07He's a mountaineer, he's a free rider, he's a freestyler, he's a pioneer in this space.
00:12And he is getting ready for his campaign here on the Pointe de Terrain.
00:16Let's see what he does right out of the start gate here.
00:20Keep your eyes peeled to the television.
00:22Victor De La Rue, massive drop right out the front.
00:26And lining himself up for just a second air here in this really steep technical section.
00:33360, perfectly stomped.
00:37Backside three for Victor as he is following a similar course going 180, reverting back around to regular in the triple.
00:45Unbelievable from Victor there riding switch off the first feature of that triple.
00:50Hadley, how hard is that?
00:51Incredibly difficult, incredibly committing and really creative.
00:56Victor is painting his own canvas here with all the snow.
01:01And even if he's been on for seven seasons, he says he still gets nervous.
01:05But the champion knows how to channel that nervous energy into incredible riding like he just showed us.
01:12And moving across that long traverse, a little bit of a reset.
01:17And now Victor back into the down sloping part.
01:20You can see he's picking up speed.
01:21See Victor making his way, following his former French colleagues.
01:31A little bit of a delay, but he's got to be real precise going for that double and having to pick himself up over that pepper.
01:42So big toe side turn as Victor lining up this final feature into the same couloir.
01:49It's so precise, Hadley.
01:51The difficulty of scoping that, keep in mind these riders don't get to stand on this venue.
01:55How hard is it to look at that just from across the valley and then execute with that kind of precision?
02:01Exactly.
02:01If you think about riding at home, when you're looking across from the mountain, it looks completely reversed from the top.
02:08You have to kind of guess what snow mound is the correct rock that you could see across from the valley.
02:13But Victor making a beautiful, beautiful work of that terrain as he enters into the finish line with all of his friends and family.
02:22Well, the crowd loves it.
02:23Enzo loves it.
02:24He's up out of the hot seat giving his good buddy a high five.
02:28As we said, these two are fierce competitors.
02:30Let's take a look back at this run, Hadley, right out of the gate.
02:32Right out of the gate.
02:33I really love this top, and I think if you can go from riding switch to forward that fluidly in such committing terrain, really impressive stuff, Derek.
02:45Yeah, popping out, getting switch, reverting to his regular route.
02:49The video judge, Drew Tabke, absolutely loving it.
02:53The air and style bar, the line bar, everything just maxed all the way to the end of the scale.
03:00So, Victor De LaRue making very short work of this face and going huge into that lower core.
03:05Huge, and as you said, in that lower core, there's actually quite a narrow landing there.
03:11They really have to know from the takeoff that they're going to not hit a rock at the bottom.
03:17So, we saw all those judging bars absolutely maxed.
03:20Now, we're going to see what the judges had to say, and he goes into the 90s.
03:24Victor De LaRue with a 90.67 run, only the third man.
