00:00OPPO presents Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle.
00:18Welcome to another episode of Too Much.
00:21Our next guest is a man who runs a fashion empire,
00:24feeds you till you burst and then throws Diwali parties
00:28that make award shows look like a family gathering.
00:31He has dressed half of Bollywood and undressed their bank accounts.
00:34If you've ever bought his lehenga, congratulations,
00:37you also bought him another chandelier.
00:42Now, she's the opposite of labels.
00:44She acts, raps, paints and does all of it exactly like what she is.
00:50A bin das, babe.
00:52But I'm very excited.
00:53Do you ever think we'll be on the same chat show?
00:55No, I don't even know people who are friendly.
00:59We've always been talking about each other.
01:00And we both are in black.
01:01We're actually exactly the same.
01:03Yeah, and you've got gold buttons.
01:05I've got gold buttons here.
01:06I just have this horse.
01:07That's very cool though, Manish.
01:08I can never match up with that.
01:09That diamond rush number.
01:11Please brace yourself for
01:13Manish Manhotra and Sunakshi Sinha.
01:16Nice to see you.
01:32Always nice to see you both.
01:34I've seen all the feminine women in black.
01:37That's very too much.
01:38My lehengas are not that expensive.
01:39I want to correct that.
01:42Manish has made lots of faces for his intro at the back.
01:44Firstly, he was standing at the back like in military school or something.
01:52He's not moving.
01:52I'm trying to suck my stomach in, look good.
01:54And I'm standing here, he's just not moving.
01:57I thought, is he okay?
01:57Then the intro started.
01:58Then his facial expressions started changing.
02:00He's like, hmm?
02:01And I'm going, diwan-a-paki, expensive lehenga.
02:06KKC introduction.
02:07And shantile ears.
02:08And shantile ears.
02:08This is all satyavachan, by the way.
02:11Whatever they have said.
02:12No, not really.
02:12Ganti baji, ganti baji, ganti baji.
02:14But see, it's not good on me.
02:18It's not true.
02:19It's not true, but be good to us, be on your show.
02:21They're going to be very good to you.
02:23Who has ever been bad to you?
02:24And do let them get away with it, Mr. Diplomatic.
02:27No, I actually, what diplomatic?
02:28No, not diplomatic.
02:29Of course you're diplomatic.
02:30You're right, everybody's been very good to me.
02:32Three decades with all heroines have survived.
02:35No, that's because they have Botox on their faces and you have Botox your tongue.
02:39Nothing wags there.
02:41Chook, take them.
02:42Secrets die with you.
02:43Good.
02:43But that's the one reason I think that he has also managed to just be where he is, everybody
02:51he's worked with at the same time.
02:54Which other person, which other technician, which other actor can claim that they have
02:59worked with every other heroine at the same time and not done any Idhar ka Udhar?
03:05But I have enjoyed it, enjoyed working with all of them and all of y'all.
03:10And, but I'll tell you what, I'm going to interrupt you, but you have not enjoyed working with someone and we believe that you sent her a message accidentally.
03:20Can you please tell us about this?
03:21Oh God, no.
03:22Can you please tell us about this?
03:23We can't start this episode on that note.
03:24No, we have to start at the same time.
03:25No, no, no.
03:26No, no.
03:27So, no, no.
03:28That just happened once in my life.
03:29And I really enjoyed working with her as well in a very hit film.
03:35And we actually worked a lot together and we still do.
03:38It was just that sometimes you misunderstand, right?
03:41And I, my nephew Puneet, your friend, I wrote to him that, oh, last day and I'm going on
03:46the set and all of that, done with this film and done with her.
03:50And by mistake, I sent the message to the actress and, but you know what?
03:54No, I went up to her and she was so gracious and she was so good about it.
03:59And she said, but why?
04:00I actually love you and respect you.
04:01And I said, so do I.
04:02She was cleared and you went down to do some issues together.
04:05Chai Lopetai, round, round, round, round, a story, and he brought it back.
04:09This is like, you know how, like, I have some friends who go like, they'll, they'll, they'll
04:14bitch a person out and they'll say the worst thing possible and then, no, no, no, that's
04:18definitely not him.
04:19But I'm saying he's the nicer version of it, but they'll do all of that and then in the
04:23end, but she's a nice girl.
04:25But we all do that.
04:26But she's sweet.
04:27She's sweet.
04:28Yeah.
04:29She's telling me that she's sweet.
04:31She's become a very boring, that means you're boring.
04:33But both of you also have something in common, like when Manish will say Farma Kato, nobody
04:37will understand what that means except you.
04:39Yeah.
04:40Because you work in the costume department.
04:41Because I'm a Farma Kata hai.
04:42Kata hai.
04:43Yeah.
04:44I studied fashion designing for three years.
04:46I did my course in fashion designing.
04:47Which I haven't studied at all.
04:48Yes.
04:49And you used to come as a guest.
04:52Yes.
04:53Lecturer.
04:54Yes.
04:55The first time I saw you at Lakme fashion week.
04:56Wow.
04:57And he saw me at Lakme fashion week where I was volunteering.
04:59Yeah.
05:00This pretty, pretty girl as an asher.
05:01And I was like, wow, isn't Shatsu ji's daughter, she's so pretty.
05:05That's what I saw.
05:06And then cut to.
05:07Yeah.
05:08Cut to set pe.
05:09Tida.
05:10I started acting and it was very reluctant.
05:12Like I never wanted, growing up I never wanted to be an actor.
05:15Toh when I became an actor, everybody, the gold standard was that, jab tak Manish Malotra
05:20So he styled me for Audi Rathod, which is a film I did with Akshay, and he gave me these
05:29really cool, and I didn't question him.
05:31I didn't ask a single question.
05:32I was like, jo Manish dega, I'll wear it.
05:35And he gave me this really cool designed salvaas with like, you know, these pattas at the bottom
05:40and something different.
05:41He would do something with a patta.
05:42He would calm.
05:43He would check everything and all.
05:44It was Arash Kumar.
05:45Yes, Arash Kumar also.
05:46Yes.
05:47And she really danced.
05:48And she killed it.
05:49Absolutely.
05:50But that was my second film.
05:54And after that film released, people are sending me, you know, photos from markets in Delhi and
06:03this and that, where they used to write hang the salvaas and write another sunakshi salvaar.
06:08I was like, this is a panish salvaar.
06:10It's not my salvaar.
06:11It's not my salvaar.
06:12But all his lehengas were called Karan Johar lehengas for a long time.
06:17He was like, Karan Johar's lehengas.
06:20So yeah, it was quite the honor, Mr. Malhotra.
06:24But before you became a fashion designer, you were actually a model.
06:27I mean to say that I believe it.
06:28I mean, no two ways about it.
06:29You probably have the highest cheekbones among the three of us for sure.
06:30Look at his jawline.
06:31Without having done anything.
06:32Okay then.
06:33That's a flex.
06:34In today's day and age, that's a flex, my friend.
06:35Yes.
06:36So anyway, what was that moment when you realized that designing was your passion and you know,
06:50you wanted to make the clothes that you were modeling for?
06:53It's very odd, but I was born interested in movies.
06:56Like at the age of six, I would want to dance on every song.
07:00I was interested in clothes.
07:01I would tell my mother, your blouses aren't matching.
07:03And she would be like, what's up with them?
07:05So one thing I have to give to my mother, she encouraged me loving films.
07:11So I saw, I think each and every film and I think movies influenced me.
07:16And I would cry if I saw a film and I said, I loved it.
07:20I want to go back to see it.
07:21So I think on the seventies, my growing up years, I know every film and every costume.
07:26You can ask me.
07:27So you were that boy, Gati Galaxy, Friday.
07:28Yeah, absolutely.
07:29First day, first day, first show.
07:30Yeah.
07:31So it was like when I came to college, I was of course a very bad student.
07:34And then I started modeling.
07:35I started working in a boutique.
07:36There was no cause for men in 1980s, 70s, 80s.
07:39Wow.
07:40So I said, no, I want to get into movies and I want to change the way films look.
07:44Because at the late 80s, movies had stopped looking good.
07:47They didn't look like what they looked in the 70s.
07:49All stars in the 70s were so stylish.
07:51Exactly.
07:52You know, from Rajesh Khanna's Kurtas to Amit Ji's Collars to everything, right?
07:56And Zeenat Taman and all of them.
07:59But at the late 80s, I think that was missing.
08:01And I was like, I was determined, no, I've only designed for movies.
08:04And I'll always be a costume designer.
08:06I used to love Banu Ji's work, Banu Atayya's work, who went on to winning an Oscar for Gandhi.
08:11So yeah, that's all films happened.
08:14And it's 35 years.
08:16And counting.
08:17And I'm counting.
08:18But you were the opposite.
08:20You didn't want to come into this business.
08:22So how did that happen?
08:23Even when I was growing up, I was an overweight child.
08:27And like I've said this story to everyone and cousins know about it now.
08:31But like, it's the truth.
08:33And once a fat girl, always a fat girl.
08:35Yeah.
08:36In your head, right?
08:37In your head.
08:38You're always one.
08:39I like that fat girl who lives in our head.
08:40I think it makes us unique.
08:42It makes us unique.
08:43It makes us more confident in terms of like, we're so much more appreciative of our other skills than just our looks.
08:48Why is it us?
08:49Who's us?
08:50Us.
08:51All of yours?
08:52Yeah.
08:53All three fat girls.
08:54At least in our heads.
08:55In your head.
08:56Yeah.
08:57We're all grown up fat.
08:58Absolutely.
08:59Yeah.
09:00At least grown up with the idea that we were fat.
09:02Now, when I look back at it, I was like, I was fine.
09:04I didn't really want to be that fat.
09:06But in my head?
09:07I was fat.
09:08I became a fat boy after I started working.
09:10But in my mind, always a slim boy.
09:12Oh.
09:13Wow.
09:14That's a different role game.
09:15That might be really nice.
09:16Yeah.
09:17But I was, you know, always confident.
09:19And I always, was never a meek child.
09:22So everybody around me would think that, they would just assume that a big actor will be
09:26but I was not interested.
09:27I've not grown up watching films.
09:29So I was just like, I don't want to do this.
09:31I'll do something else.
09:32So I studied fashion and all.
09:33And then when it happened, I felt so comfortable.
09:37Like I was meant to be here.
09:40But all stark kids are always away from films.
09:43I've noticed that it's outsiders like us who are into movies.
09:47But I've noticed kids of film homes are not really into movies.
09:50And they're growing up years.
09:52Because it's like a normal business.
09:53Is he an outsider?
09:54I'm an outsider.
09:55You also know?
09:56He was an outsider.
09:58He's now an insider.
10:00Yeah.
10:01Now if he has children, they'll be nepo kids.
10:03Yeah.
10:04We change happening so.
10:08To encourage you, you didn't want to be an actress, right?
10:09No, I didn't want to be an actress, right?
10:10No, I didn't want to be an actress.
10:11Yeah.
10:12I wanted to become a chartered accountant.
10:13But now you know.
10:14Paise Gindra you.
10:15Yeah.
10:16So somebody kind of came together.
10:17Yeah, see?
10:18Yeah.
10:19You want to become a chartered accountant?
10:20Really?
10:21I had applied for my CA entrance exam.
10:22Wow.
10:23But I wanted to be a purser.
10:24Because I never travelled as a kid, as a child.
10:25I'd never travelled anywhere.
10:26And also you get to meet a lot of hot people everywhere.
10:27Yeah.
10:28I mean, you see the world, honestly, at that time.
10:29No, but you get to meet hot people.
10:30We're just going to put that on you.
10:31At that time, were there hot people?
10:32I don't know about that.
10:33But now he gets to meet hotter people.
10:34I know.
10:35But at that time, I was like, I want to be a purser.
10:36I went for the exam.
10:37And it was general knowledge.
10:38I failed so badly.
10:39And I was like, oh my god.
10:40And I was like, oh my god.
10:41And then I said, one day, on a rose day, one very pretty girl in Elphiston College came
10:56and gave me lots of roses.
10:57And she was like, me?
10:58Give me roses?
10:59Manish, she didn't say it like that.
11:00You said, me?
11:01No, I thought, I swear.
11:02I was surprised.
11:03And my first thought was, why don't I become a model?
11:07She thinks I'm nice looking.
11:09And that's how I started getting my pictures, giving them all.
11:13And I started getting work.
11:14And I was running from a, that's how I started actually.
11:16And now you're producing your own films.
11:18And I'm producing films.
11:19That was always in my mind to produce, write, direct, curate a film.
11:23Because I think because I was so much in love with films, I worked closely with directors.
11:28I was very interested in screenplay.
11:30Because at our time, what was the description?
11:32Do you want to be sexy or glamorous?
11:33What is the whole character?
11:34What is the whole character?
11:35What is the whole character?
11:36What is the whole character?
11:37What is the whole character?
11:38What is the whole character?
11:39What is the whole character?
11:40Nothing.
11:41Yeah.
11:42And I remember that one of the first outfits I made, they said it's a funeral sequence.
11:47And white salwar kameez, but she should look hot.
11:50I'm like, how does she look hot in a funeral scene?
11:53And I kept thinking, I should not like to ask too many questions.
11:56It shouldn't, I was conscious.
11:57It shouldn't look like I don't know my job.
11:59So I asked my tailor, you know, filmy tailor, what do they mean?
12:02So he said, fitting.
12:03It should be very tight fitted.
12:05In those days, I was 91 I'm talking about.
12:08And so I was in a very fitted, almost tearing white salwar kameez for a funeral scene.
12:13But things have changed so much.
12:15So much during the time we worked.
12:17Yeah, absolutely.
12:18And how much work we've all done.
12:20We've just like done crazy work.
12:22We used to run to Switzerland like by the week, right?
12:24Like with chiffon sarees, comeback chiffon sarees.
12:27Heroes are in trench coats with mufflers.
12:29All the heroes are in chiffon sarees, different colors.
12:32We don't feel cold.
12:33At all, whatever happens.
12:34And you worked with Sonakshi as well, right?
12:36Yeah, yeah, lots.
12:37But by the time, Sonakshi came into the movies and we've discussed this before.
12:41We've all traveled to Switzerland, London, New York.
12:44By the time you guys came, it became more...
12:46You all were shooting in Film City and Chandivar.
12:48Yeah, yeah.
12:49I thought I'd become an actress and I'll get to travel the world and all now.
12:52Cut to, I'm traveling to every city, every city, every film city, every...
12:56That's also a good vibe.
12:58That's also an interesting vibe.
12:59I'm doing all the films where I'm playing a village girl.
13:03And literally my first outdoor shoot was when I went to shoot for Force 2 in Budapest.
13:08That was my first outdoor.
13:10And I was like, wow, finally, everything came.
13:12But yeah, I've explored every nook and cranny of this country and...
13:16Wow.
13:17I'm quite...
13:18Did you do your own stunts for the film as well?
13:20I did.
13:21I do, actually.
13:22Wow.
13:23Are you doing another action film?
13:24Are you doing another action film?
13:25I'm going to start Dahaar Part 2, Season 2.
13:28Oh, wow.
13:29And yeah.
13:30Oh, great things about it.
13:31And Akira.
13:32And Akira.
13:33Yes, I did my own stunts there as well.
13:34I'm telling you, Sonashila's beating up boys.
13:37I've grown up playing sports, right?
13:39So that...
13:40So that...
13:41You've been very vocal about relationships.
13:56In fact, apparently you blurted out, I love you within one week of meeting Zaheer.
14:00Is this true?
14:01Yeah.
14:02No, I've been actually, I've kept my relationships under wraps because I've...
14:06Thoda nazar I believe in.
14:07Okay.
14:08And honestly, I didn't want to like be public until I knew I was actually going to marry
14:13this person.
14:14So...
14:15Which happened with Zaheer.
14:16But when I saw him, I don't know what, it was like an instant click.
14:20I just knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this guy.
14:23Within a week.
14:24I told him he thought I'm mad.
14:25Apparently it was a month.
14:26He thought, he thought I'm crazy.
14:28He's called up his best friend.
14:29And listen, I think she's like...
14:31She's confused.
14:32Yeah, she's not.
14:33Didn't you kind of scare him away?
14:35Like, oh my God, I just met her.
14:36She said, I love you.
14:37Now I want to marry you.
14:38No, but I guess not.
14:39She's a stalker.
14:40Yeah, in a month I told him, I'm going to marry you only.
14:42And then seven years later, we did get married.
14:44But that's amazing that she knows what she wants.
14:46But I just knew.
14:47I don't know.
14:48I've never felt like that with anybody else.
14:49And when I did feel it, and I don't like to hide my feelings.
14:52So I just went and told him.
14:54Now if he ran away, he ran away.
14:56Clearly he didn't.
14:57Clearly he didn't.
14:58Worked out well.
14:59And can I tell you that you looked beautiful.
15:03Can I tell you something stunning.
15:04Kajal was the first one to reach my wedding.
15:06She reached before Zaheer and I reached the venue.
15:08And I had so much pressure because that was the only day.
15:11I've never been late a day in my life.
15:13That was the only day.
15:14I was getting ready in the dark.
15:15And that's why I got late.
15:16And then I'm getting calls.
15:17Kajal has arrived.
15:18Kajal has arrived.
15:19I'm like wait wait wait I'm coming.
15:20My God.
15:21That's actually another thing of all three of you all.
15:22Given the bride anxiety she already has problems.
15:23No but Twinkle I think all three of us actresses have always been on time.
15:29All of you all were very punctual.
15:30I think even at parties you're the first ones to arrive.
15:31We come very early.
15:32Leave early too.
15:33Because I want to leave early as well.
15:34I come early I leave late.
15:35But it's a good way to be I think.
15:46I come early and leave late.
15:47So now you were a very different bride.
15:49You were absolutely authentic.
15:51Not to say that Manish was a part.
15:56It was that why you didn't come to my wedding because I was in Jamragar.
16:01I was in jammer but you dressed the way that you know it was truly you you could make up there
16:08wasn't any designer behind stylist behind how did you go in that direction very upset so Mohit Rai
16:14who's our stylist is one of my closest friends Sanam Ratansi who's my sister-in-law Zahir sister
16:20is also a stylist I was very clear for me I was like guys don't take this personally but this is
16:25always the vision that I've had for myself you know in my mind because I I want to be able to
16:30move around I want to have fun and I want it to be something that I can remember for the rest of
16:35my life something I can pass on to my own children so I said you know what I'll wear my mom sorry
16:40that's such a beautiful and I went to my mom and I told her ma just show me your saris within five
16:45minutes I selected the sari that I wore which was a beautiful chicken curry off-white sorry I said show
16:51me your jewelry I took her one set I wore it and I got married and then I I enjoyed every single
16:59moment I remember every single moment like it happened yesterday it was just beautiful no but
17:04guys emotion over style always I mean yeah then there's a true emotion there's an emotion that's
17:09how you felt for some right it's about no I want to really dress up it's my day so it's different and
17:13you know what and I'm just gonna be everywhere she's beautiful no shade to anyone and then again
17:18there's that added thing of you know be penna head designer wear this that and all photo kitchen
17:23that's just did not like that no offense to anyone but I just did not want that on my big day I was
17:31going to be about us about our love and about about I also just have a handful of pictures I also got
17:38married on a terrace I have a handful of pictures nothing very but Kajal even you made pictures I did a
17:42nowwari saree for you if you remember yeah I wanted to wear I also wanted to wear I wanted to wear I said
17:47I want to do a full-on nowwari saree so I wore a I she made my nowwari saree yeah and my grandmother
17:55draped it for me because nobody knew how to wear a nowwari in the family so she draped it for me
18:01and it was it was the nicest thing and he presented me my lehenga lucky you I actually wore another
18:09bride's lehenga it was great for someone else but I was getting married in a week so it was hers and it
18:14came to me but his I have to tell you the best is Manisha's got me ready for this whole
18:22kuch kuch hota hai ka you want to tell the story he's got me ready for the whole kuch kuch hota hai ka
18:27wedding sequence and whatever whatever and now we're walking from filmistan ka
18:31makeup room to the set Manish is like wow you're looking so nice today and he's got this like look
18:38on his face that says you know proud father okay my baby with the mother I'm gonna be better
18:43no father no and he's walking walking walking and halfway through the lehenga is really heavy right
18:52so I'm standing over there and I I can't take it anymore I'm gonna pick up the lehenga and sneakers
18:57down she would love doing that see my sneakers down I would be like oh god I hope you're not in the
19:04shoes yeah Karan would say why is she wearing these shoes I was like you tell her but actually
19:14the trend of sneakers with the lehenga you started then really I mean a lot of girls wear sneakers
19:19with their lehengas yeah and I have to say one more thing Kajol was the first actress who called
19:24me up one day and said what are you doing I said I'm at home so she said okay I'm coming over so I was
19:30like is there a costume we've got to discuss the costume she says no why aren't you my friend can't
19:35they just come over because till then heroes only called and discussed their outfit you know and
19:41yours Kajol I think said no I want to reach out to you as a friend beyond the custom so she was the
19:46first girl who did that sweet but you always hold your friends in high esteem I mean I see Rekha ji
19:52she comes to your parties and then you showcase her so beautifully to the world and we get to see her
19:57because of you yeah so tell me something that you learned from Rekha ji as well I know the piece of
20:02advice that Vanish has got can I say it please say it I think what he has learned from her is the way
20:07she loves herself is the way you love yourself yeah am I right but I'm more about self-care than self-love
20:12oh yeah but one thing I have to make a point here you are very narcissistic also no no no I love the mirror you told me once you know this face yeah yeah I love the mirror this face hot water has never touched this face I only wash it with cold water you show me this face every morning this face I didn't say
20:28but every morning when I wake up sounds like you no no no no cold water is very good for your face
20:33so Kajol was horrified that day I told over lunch that's why I when I get up I go to in front of the mirror
20:39I splash a lot of cold water for five minutes soak a table and dab it's very good for your skin
20:48skin no way environment no no no environment too but skin is important so yeah I think self-love is what I've learned
20:57what about you Sunakshi you moved from commercial films like Rowdy Rautod to the hard and your series with Sanjay Dilla Mansali where you played the most beautiful Farida
21:09thank you absolutely so how did you do that was that a conscious change
21:13uh it was actually quite organic uh and it also came from the fact that I'm a Gemini and I get bored very
21:20quick so I'm doing the same thing and like I did a lot of those you know masala pot boilers but I was
21:27like doing the song and dance and all of that I did that for a very long period of time when and then I
21:31just got hungry I was like up isi ke aage or kya kar sakte hai which is like different which is more engaging
21:37which will keep me interested yeah exactly so I just started experimenting and you know taking up
21:45roles that were way more challenging that you know required uh showed me in a very different light as
21:51an actor as well uh because I wanted to do that I wanted to explore more I learned everything with
21:55walking like such amazing actors like your husbands like I learned how to be on time from Akshay I learned
22:00how to be like you know uh Ajay is so quick with everything that he's doing like there's no nonsense in the
22:06middle of set like everything is like quick quick quick quick quick so by that time I was like set in a way
22:11that I can do this on the in my sleep now what more can I explore and that's when I started doing very
22:19very different sort of roles and like if you see Akira uh then I did a Noor then I did a Shafakana then I did a
22:27Dahar then I did a Hiramandi so my graph was like going some weird roller coaster ride only was happening
22:33and I was enjoying myself it was like thrilling amazing and getting paid for it yeah and getting paid for it
22:38which is very important that's just the cherry on the cake all four of us are self-taught actually no yeah
22:43absolutely I don't think we all did a did you do a course no no no nothing we went to Roshan Taneja I didn't
22:49I went I went to even Satyadev Dubey who locked me in one room and said that you can only leave this room once you can
22:55imagine roses you know all over the room I couldn't imagine the roses I was there only for hours and hours and hours
23:02and hours you imagine sunflowers
23:04so Manish speaking of Sanjari Laman Sali you seem to have worked with everyone except for Sanjari Laman Sali
23:11and considering your outfits are as opulent as his films why haven't you yeah I did only one film Khamoshi oh yeah I've
23:21done Khamoshi after that we've never worked together I think once um somebody asked him then I think he
23:26always thought it was very funny to Karan and Adi and that group kind of thing so yeah so I was like Sanjay
23:33but I'm professional but I can work with so many different actors yeah but sometimes some things
23:37just don't happen and then you just make your own path anyway moving on we've been serious we've been
23:44stylish and now it's time to stand up for something oh absolutely it's a game where you pick sides faster
23:50than Bollywood actors pick PR agencies welcome to OPPO presents this side that side okay yep so which
23:57side am I on well you have to decide come okay so it's simple we read out the prompts if you agree
24:10you step into the green okay if you disagree you step into the red and whatever side you pick you have
24:15to defend it and you have to pick a side otherwise we will pick one for you especially you okay
24:20okay let's begin Indians are more embarrassed about buying condoms and fairness creams no not anymore
24:27no no I don't know no are they come on you're talking progress in India
24:34no wait no no no no no I don't know but when you're going to condom
24:41If you buy them, they are like, okay, I'll go, I'll go, I'll go, I'll go.
24:45Who have you gone with who has been buying condoms?
24:48I want to know that you are saying yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
24:50Who have you gone with who is not defending themselves?
24:53India has changed, Indians have changed.
24:54How many times have you gone to the medical store that you are telling me?
24:56Buy condoms?
24:57I mean, I would go to buy sanitary pads, no?
25:00Not condoms.
25:01That's somebody else's department.
25:02No, that's what I'm asking you.
25:03You're asking me, so I'm asking you.
25:04Okay, let the man see.
25:05Indians have changed.
25:06There's nothing like that.
25:07Nobody fears going and buying a condom.
25:08Then why is our population so much?
25:10No, I don't think so.
25:13We are a nation of God people.
25:19Friends can make or break your relationship.
25:21Yes.
25:22I've never had a relationship, so I have to be here.
25:25You're a liar.
25:26I've never had a relationship ever.
25:28It's true.
25:29So that means if you ever had better friends, you would have made the relationship.
25:32No, I'm in the best relationship and that relationship is with me and my work and my work.
25:37See what he's doing.
25:38With my work.
25:39Atma Nirbhar.
25:40Yeah.
25:41And we won't put it in a salacious way.
25:43Oh, God.
25:44But you're lying, right?
25:45No, I'm not lying.
25:46You're lying.
25:47Of course, you've never been in a relationship.
25:48I've never been in a relationship because I think I'm just obsessed with my own work.
25:52Moving on.
25:54People will bargain with a vegetable vendor but will happily pay double for designer sneakers.
25:59Yes.
26:00Yes.
26:01Yes.
26:02Yes.
26:03Yes.
26:04Sorry.
26:05Yes.
26:06I don't agree.
26:07Yes.
26:08Yes.
26:09Yes.
26:10Yes.
26:11Yes.
26:12Yes.
26:13Yes.
26:14Yes.
26:15Yes.
26:16Yes.
26:17Yes.
26:18No, the thing is I don't think so but still, listen sneakers, the world is going to see.
26:20The vegetable was just between the vendor and your side.
26:23Oh.
26:24Yeah.
26:25Well done.
26:26Well defended.
26:27Plus size fashion is still just an apology section in most stores.
26:30in most stores no i don't agree i'm sorry completely not at all no what makes you think
26:35that because at different points in our lives we have gone to the plus size section absolutely
26:39and we've gone to the plus size section even at every point in our life but that was many years
26:45ago i don't think so now i think people wear uh their size very proudly and it's accepted and it's
26:50the best thing why should we shy about your size no but there are not enough clothes and not enough
26:55nice clothes it's not about bigger sizes there aren't nice clothes no i think i don't think so
27:00i don't agree with that i think only in manish malhotra stores there must be yeah because you
27:05make custom orders yeah i do customize regular stores are we going to when have you gone into a store
27:10and asked for a plus size i want to know yeah well i have when i've been plus size of course yeah
27:15please please manish and we're not talking about when you went to five this has become like i'm like
27:19okay parents say love who you want as long as it's the opposite sex same caste and same back
27:29balance no i don't agree i agree i don't i agree i think parents today come on parents have become
27:36really open-minded and they accept so much more than they did you're talking about a very small
27:42percentage in the tier one cities not the rest of the country you think so 100 i think the rest of
27:47country is changing a lot we underestimate that i mean there are honor killings we really are not
27:51underestimating anything so yeah i mean there there are and there is all of that but i think there's
27:57a change as well guys so nakshi where are you i've come to watch this debate
28:01that last one was a good one it was interesting a good watch so manish has just said that he's never
28:20had a relationship that's right very hard to believe i know it's true it's all chuppa rustam
28:25relationship not at all but why you heroines do this i know i never dated anyone honestly okay i think
28:31kajo you know they're just friends there are only two virgins in the industry salman and manish
28:37you manish we don't hear any personal stories about you how have you kept yourself out of the media
28:51i'm a private person as you know of course i am actually if you all have noticed and you all have
28:58i never ask personal questions i never ask personal questions that's because you don't want to really
29:03know also that much he's not bothered about his personal life he's bothered whether at least
29:08all his heroines are showing their navels on screen maybe not you but definitely me that was his biggest
29:14concern no why would i be concerned every costume you made for me manish why does his stomach shows
29:19in a linger it's a short blouse in a gargant she doesn't want to show a stomach no he once sent me
29:24some little instagram story where the entire review was about my navel in a costume designed by him he
29:30showcased my navel yeah my god but wow what it is i know but do you remember do you remember
29:36those movies where you know the short tissue of that lenga and then you know it goes up you know
29:41and there's a flower on the stomach or some or or a top or a feather yeah we have done shots like that
29:49hundred percent you have yeah i'm not done you have you have i'm not done you have
29:53some of shorts and cuts to a close-up and the girls reacting like you know you and i both have
29:59absolutely right no i mean manish would design your clothes i took everything out of my memory
30:03manish is doing my clothes i can't eat anything for a month and a half in badsha i ate only chana
30:08for two months and then i felt like i'm a hot air balloon finally i've reached the set
30:12sharuk has to pick me up and i'm like just clench keep it all in please you can't make this
30:18you know you can't have an accident right now eating all this chana it's all because of you
30:22and your clothes but i have to tell you that on the other hand manish has never once told me listen
30:28you know you should do some weight for the outfit or you know i don't see a speaker no he doesn't
30:32i don't never ever or and in fact yeah yeah in fact when i when i came up to him and i said you
30:38know i've put on weight i've got tomb i i think i'm looking very fast if i have said that he's turned
30:43around he's told me this is your find the way you are just calm down you're fine no but i'll tell you
30:48what actually even as for brides even for brides i don't thought of brides come and say they speak
30:53about their skin tone or they speak about their weight and i'm like no it's my job to make you
30:59look what you want to look i have never approached my work like this is the design and you fit into it
31:04no it's you have to work with the body type and make it all look that's your job exactly right and i
31:09think um you can make any body look the way you want it to look if your fit is right if the color is
31:15right all of it so i think yeah you just have to know yeah yeah but they're just people out there
31:31who keep trolling you all the time you know for nothing right so actually you've been trolled quite
31:35a lot from your weight to your fashion choices and you give it back exactly something you do you do
31:41like a savage why did you choose to give it back and not keep your silence well i give it back uh
31:48rarely but when i do it means that you've reached a point where you've really pissed me off otherwise
31:53i'm not bothered otherwise i ignore it otherwise like i said you know it's it's easy for me to shut
31:57out the negativity but sometimes it just comes to a point where you're like a bit you have
32:02so now you're a pro at replying to all these trolls so now we are going to have a little game oh
32:27okay so we are going to read out a few troll comments and we'd like both of you to react to
32:33them okay okay are you all ready yeah yeah she looks like she's raided her dad's closet and forgotten
32:40to return the shoulder pads what would your reply be it was intentional
32:47that's called style manish makes the same lehenga every year he just changes the blouse length
32:53i would say it's selling don't you understand that it's business her instagram captions are funnier
33:00than her movies possibly yeah that's not my fault and also maybe because uh i'm a witty person that's why
33:14okay manisha's more selfies with kareena than saif does that's true i love selfies but uh i think i look
33:22good in them uh but i don't know about that manish always has a best time she blocked me for calling
33:34her auntie but i was just being respectful i'll unblock you just to block you again
33:41okay manish minimalism called manish hung up and ran away of course i'm a maximalist
33:49and he owns it yeah yeah so anyway that part of it is over the game is over okay okay so we come
33:58you have also been quite known for your very bold looks like for instance rangila and straight hair
34:05you were mad about straight everything was mad about straight hair so what is a very bold look
34:11according to you in today's world i think rangila as a film was uh path breaking in that in that time
34:17i think if you see actually urmila is wearing a red outfit when she's running but the entire
34:22the way jackie's holding her the way they are you know interacting it's actually what makes a moment
34:27bold or not bold you could be in a bikini uh but it could not be a woman you could be in a covered
34:33outfit and it could look really bold i think it's also in a movie that also matters the way it's shot
34:37but i remember that that's when you became this household name yes rangila was that yeah that
34:42changed it for me yeah but i think rangila was what you know you're defining moment and on the show
34:47what we call make your moment event yeah i would think so okay yeah no but you've done so many films
34:54and then eventually now you venture into production as well i've got so what was the reason that you did
34:59it um see i i also think that i still costume films right i've also reduced it a lot because of my work
35:06and my mainstream work my business all of it but connection with film is never go and i think the best way
35:12is to back stories and storytellers who probably the big production houses won't really give a chance
35:19to and i think if you're a popular voice is good to back stories which are different and i could not
35:24do that in my work earlier because i was already branded glamour it was already selling i had to make
35:29the company so i went the safer route but here i think at this age stage of my life i want to do
35:35something different take that chance take that risk and even working with people like gulzar sahab and
35:41vishal bazawaj has been like you know just being with them and being with the wonderful actors that
35:47i've worked or directors i think it's just been a good experience i could i can do it i can manage it
35:52and i'm just telling you all that stage five production my film production is open to investment
35:57you'll have rich husbands if you want to invest
36:00so now we come to the topic of the day and for you this is going to be tricky why me it's always
36:24you on this show is a woman's worth still measured by how she looks and dresses and not simply by who
36:32or what she is for me a woman's worth has never been the way she looks or uh it's always been the way
36:39she is her personality and i think whether you see women all across i think my own mother i'm all about
36:46the person that she is it's never the looks it's never the figure it's about you could be beautiful
36:51but she'll not be attractive so it's always the persona that will be always above fashion pushes
36:57you in that area what you wear is very important fashion is doing its job because they're selling
37:01their job right and it's it's there to either help you look a certain way or sell its own job that it
37:09is is meant to but it's on to you how serious you take it or you don't what do you have to say
37:16sanakshi i think more than anything there's there's a lot of fatigue into playing into what people
37:22expect from you you know and i think that's where it comes from i think all these uh little labels and
37:28all these uh standards are used of course because it's a norm it's been been passed down from so many
37:34generations so you know like we kind of pick it up it all changes according to generations it is
37:40sometimes do you think you're judged less today definitely yeah definitely or i don't know if i'm
37:46judged less today or if i care less today about being judged yeah you know so it's i don't i don't
37:52i don't how you judge yourself less today one of the two no there's more self-acceptance yes for sure
37:57which is why i'm not judging myself at all today if i wanna take off my heels and sit and i could have
38:03come in sneakers today yeah if i felt like and and been completely okay with it on a show like this you
38:09know i would have not done that 15 12 years back yeah i think giving fashion a bad rap but there's
38:14also something about it i think it is the shortcut to reinvention real reinvention takes a lot of effort
38:21and it's also a way to express yourself yeah today i so agree with you it's the personality
38:25that matters i've always been the kind of person who i don't want the clothes to wear me i have to
38:30wear the clothes exactly and if i'm not comfortable in what i'm wearing my personality is going to not
38:35come out i'm going to like i'm not going to feel good about myself so it's a give and take you
38:39know it's a two-way street i feel so just wear what you're comfortable in wear what like dress
38:44actually has a say in how the world looks at us or not um they do like i've been saying this that you
38:53know they keep saying heels are empowering if they were really empowering then they would have
38:57elon musk on the cover of time and pink stilettos yeah it's not he is only empowering if you
39:02mistake altitude for attitude yeah but then isn't it up to us whether we listen to that or not it's
39:07also up to us right yeah how much do you want to dress up after saying all of this what am i doing
39:12wearing heels i've got lipstick i've got false eyelashes i mean i'll throw them i have another grouse
39:21against fashion what they only this is a lenga lenga against lenga show okay i just want to say that
39:27and i've been called so i've understood no i mean women's clothing never has pockets we never have oh my
39:36god yes that's an issue right but i don't like pockets i know you like them but we like them you
39:42know what i feel i feel that they add bulk men have so many pockets they even have a pocket square that
39:48they have to put in the next one okay i actually even in men's trousers don't give pockets men's
39:51trousers also you don't have pockets i don't know i just mean a kurta i don't like with pockets at
39:55least give us even a kurta with pockets and a sari with pockets exactly yeah sari with pockets would
40:00be interesting yeah something something positive towards fashion we are discussing finally we'll have
40:07pockets and they're not just reserved for the ones who have rockets in their pockets let's put it that way
40:12please manish absolutely manish is not manish's expression has said it all yeah okay so fashion
40:22films we've covered it all and lenga's i've just killed lenga's today but it's never mind it's okay
40:27yeah i just work hard no no he will have lenga's but he will have lenga's with pockets that's what he's
40:35going to do and sneakers absolutely absolutely that's the change we brought with our show yeah and now for
40:41being such good sports we are going to give you the kalyan hamper now we know who's going to get
40:47it yeah okay so just for being consistent so nakshi we're going to give you the hamper thank you so
40:52much you're the winner of the kalyan hamper yes absolutely thank you speech speech speech i'd like to
41:02thank my parents i'd like to thank manish for being diplomatic i'd like to thank you for being such a fantastic
41:06fantastic host yeah yeah superb superb we're all together let's take a selfie come on let's
41:13say cheese chocolate
41:20so now before we say our final goodbyes we have a ritual on this show okay all of us have to give an
41:24expression that says today was too much
41:28thank you guys thank you guys for being here thank you thank you thank you thank you
41:42come on we are going out we are going out together yeah my hamper we don't discuss these girls okay
41:58bye bye
42:04really crap dude wow these two are completely cuckoo and i'm all for it i love it
42:09but i tell you what they have such fantastic chemistry and i know don't say i'm being diplomatic
42:13you're not you're not i agree with you and then and then and
42:16and sub cheese okay
42:21but it was so good i think they were laughing and we also laughed a lot we we had a blast so i think
42:25to see two actresses and friends and i said good chemistry was quite unique yeah i think we also
42:29have good chemistry we always have good chemistry when you give me care i want to say don't be too much
