00:12for a reason.
00:14His books are, in my opinion,
00:16the best fantasy
00:18that's out there.
00:20He's funny and he's tragic
00:22and
00:24it feels
00:26like a real history.
00:28I'm going to take it down to the smallest detail.
00:30I love the way he uses magic.
00:32I don't know if it's in his books
00:34or if it's in his interviews.
00:36I know he's said it to me before that magic
00:38is a sword without a hilt
00:40and I love that I feel
00:42that in the way that he deals
00:44with the fantastical elements
00:46in his book.
00:48It all feels very specific to his
00:50own world and it's been a pleasure
00:52working in it.
00:54That's easy. That anything can happen.
00:56It is a real reflection of our world
00:58that
01:00bad things happen to good
01:02people, good things happen to bad people
01:04and
01:06we find ourselves
01:08in a place where we have
01:10ostensibly a really good
01:12guy. Just a kid with a
01:14silly dream. He wants to go off
01:16and be a knight
01:18and he's probably not
01:20perfectly equipped for this
01:22and George R. R. Martin's world
01:24usually crushes people like that.
01:26So we'll have to see what happens.
01:28Before auditioning I hadn't
01:30watched the show but I'm starting
01:32to catch up now. So I'm definitely
01:34a fan now. But pre-auditioning
01:36no I hadn't. Which I think honestly
01:38kind of played in my favour. I didn't come in with
01:40all of these
01:42expectations of what I thought
01:44they wanted in the script, what tone or whatever.
01:46I just kind of read the tape.
01:48Yeah. Yeah so.
01:50I was a big fan of the original series
01:52and it probably
01:54you're right like it
01:56it sort of
01:58it kind of contributed to the nerves
02:00and the anxiousness beforehand
02:02definitely but
02:04it's still it just I mean
02:06it made it so much more of an honour
02:08as well to be coming into it because
02:10something that you were a huge fan
02:12and I started watching it in college
02:14and I was
02:16on the couch every
02:18night it came out
02:20for the rest of the
02:22journey and then to be
02:24brought into that world is just
02:26you know it's crazy. But
02:28what makes it harder is
02:30you know for both Dunk and
02:32Tanzel they're not you know
02:34high born lords
02:36with a king's guard
02:38and servants and all these different
02:40things to protect them and make sure that they
02:42survive so it makes the stakes and the risks
02:44even higher
02:46and it makes the
02:48altercate or the
02:50the kind of
02:52the meetings of different people in
02:54Westeros a little bit more riskier
02:56and I think it draws some humour
02:58out of it but it also draws a little bit more
03:00of sort of that anxious environment.
