00:00Once you get to my age and you have like a random ear hair,
00:02that's when you got to have somebody who loves you.
00:05Yeah, brush that tongue though.
00:06You know, some people be brushing their teeth
00:08but they don't brush that tongue.
00:10Are we all feeling extra pretty today?
00:13I feel pretty.
00:13Yeah, good.
00:14Are you feeling pretty?
00:15Yeah, I'm surrounded by beauty.
00:17It's great, always.
00:18When you sign up for a Ryan Murphy project,
00:22do you go in with any kind of expectation at all?
00:25Or are you just like, you know what,
00:26let's just see what happens?
00:28I mean, I think for me, I've worked with Ryan
00:30a couple of different times.
00:31I think every time is about expecting the unexpected.
00:35You know, Ryan is a person that moves with instinct
00:37and that instinct changes in the moment.
00:39So I think, you know, you just have to be open to collaboration,
00:43open to his vision, trusting the vision.
00:46And once you understand that and you sign up for that,
00:49it's the thrill.
00:50It's the thrill of your career
00:51because it's someone that understands nuance
00:53and explosive behavior, genre bending.
00:58I think two things can exist at the same time.
01:00And I love that.
01:01I love the juxtaposition of conversations we can have.
01:04So it ends up becoming just a really beautiful experience.
01:07Ashton, does your role get harder?
01:09Because so far, I feel I've just seen you, like,
01:10sunning yourself on a boat.
01:13Like, you've had a really easy time so far.
01:14Does your, as you go on through this, does it?
01:17No, it's pretty much it.
01:19It's like, I was like, look, if that's all I have to do,
01:23great, I'll tell you.
01:24No, it definitely becomes more entrenched,
01:27I think around, like, the end of episode four
01:30or something like that.
01:31So things start taking off.
01:34You know, it's funny.
01:36I was meditating this morning
01:39and I was thinking about what is beautiful in the world.
01:47And I was thinking about, like, this is going to get really weird
01:51and maybe go off the track.
01:52We love it.
01:52We love it.
01:53Go for it.
01:54So I was thinking about, like, nature versus nurture
01:57and how much of our own systems are just built
02:03for extending human life, right?
02:07Like, we get hormone dumps when we are in intimate relationships.
02:13Like, if you hug someone,
02:14if you give somebody, like, the Disney hug,
02:16do you know about the Disney hug?
02:17I don't know.
02:18Because if you go to Disneyland,
02:19the characters at Disneyland,
02:21they're trained and taught
02:22that if a kid comes up and gives you a hug,
02:25you don't let go until they let go.
02:27That's right.
02:28That is the Disney characters
02:30in Disney World, Disneyland, they're taught that.
02:32And if you actually give another human being a Disney hug,
02:36there are cannabinoids that are released in your body
02:38and you feel like a, it feels good.
02:41You feel a part of a community.
02:42And they're, you know, when we eat food,
02:45there are hormones that drop in our body
02:46that make us feel,
02:47and there are all these things,
02:48and they're all designed around this extension of life
02:53and procreation of life
02:55and creating more humans.
02:57And it's like,
02:58they're just these perfectly optimized machines.
03:01And then you have beauty,
03:04which I actually,
03:06I think that there's like a chemical dump
03:08when we see something that is in a state of change
03:12or we see something that has like this potential energy
03:14or this function of confidence
03:17or it's just not what we expected.
03:21Like when you're really hot,
03:24it feels really good to be cold.
03:26But that's not,
03:27I don't know if that's like behavioral,
03:29you know, like extension of life.
03:31It just feels good.
03:32And beauty is this state of change and unexpected.
03:37And the thing that Ryan has done with this show
03:39is he's created something
03:40where every moment you think
03:43you know what's going to happen
03:44and you know what's going on,
03:46you're going to go,
03:47didn't see that coming.
03:50And that is so delightful to engage with.
03:54And I think one of the things
03:56that makes this show so special.
03:57Wow.
03:58Your meditations are something else.
04:00My mind goes blank,
04:03but you love it.
04:04Wow.
04:07I want mine to go blank,
04:09but that's what happens.
04:11I love that you shared that with me.
04:15He said,
04:16I'll be trying to meditate.
04:18He said,
04:19I'll be having to start old.
04:21I'm just grateful.
04:24Ten minutes past.
04:26Time to get in the shower.
04:28Meditation's over.
04:28I love you for sharing that though.
04:32I knew it was going on.
04:34It reminded me of the day
04:35when you said
04:36when it gets noisy
04:37in your life,
04:39you like,
04:40to cut the noise out,
04:41you think about the things
04:42that you miss.
04:42And it felt like it was aligned
04:44in that type of
04:45the thought process.
04:47We've been talking about
04:48the beauty for a while.
04:49So I love just
04:50the act of thought
04:51of what does it mean to you.
04:52I think that's the whole point
04:53of the show.
04:53You know what I mean?
04:54I can't stop thinking about it.
04:55It's in your mind.
04:56I get that.
04:57It's a real thing.
04:58Yeah, absolutely.
04:59I know in here,
05:00obviously when Jeremy and Anthony,
05:01you're together
05:03and you've got people
05:04looking over at you
05:05and you're like,
05:06well, when you're attractive,
05:07people look at you.
05:09That's what happens.
05:10You guys get that.
05:11Not only are you attractive,
05:13but you are celebrities.
05:14So you get it even more.
05:16Like, how does it make you feel
05:17when you've got like
05:18eyes on you
05:19all the time?
05:20Well, that's nice.
05:21Thanks for calling us attractive.
05:23You know that.
05:24I appreciate it.
05:26And I don't know.
05:28Stop.
05:29That's crazy.
05:29I'm just going to be watching you
05:31answering this question.
05:33No, I don't.
05:35That's weird.
05:36I don't want to answer that question.
05:37Jeremy, you want to answer that question?
05:39I mean, I don't know.
05:40I think it can be
05:41an interesting relationship
05:42you have with being seen
05:45as an artist in your art
05:46and then being seen
05:47as sometimes what feels like,
05:50I'm not going to say
05:51a piece of meat,
05:52but this kind of
05:53observation piece
05:55or this think piece
05:56where people want to comment
05:57or feel like they have
05:57the right to comment
05:58about who you are,
06:00what you look like,
06:00where you come from
06:01without knowing
06:01the nuance of it.
06:03People don't do that.
06:04They don't do that, right?
06:05It's not a real thing,
06:06hypothetically speaking.
06:06But I don't know.
06:09I mean, in one hand,
06:09it's great to be seen.
06:11You know what I mean?
06:12I think a lot of,
06:13like, we talk about
06:14beauty standards.
06:15We do these things.
06:15We alter how we look
06:17on the outside,
06:18whether it's wearing a bow
06:19or whatever,
06:20to feel confident
06:21to be seen
06:22in a certain way
06:23or to possess that energy.
06:24So I think there's
06:25a fine line
06:26between kind of being seen
06:28and then being seen
06:29too much.
06:30You know what I mean?
06:31Actually, I was going to ask you,
06:32is there anything
06:32that you guys do
06:33for yourself
06:34to make you feel
06:36more attractive?
06:37Like, for me,
06:37I have to draw my eyebrows
06:38and cover my dark circles
06:39and then I'll feel like
06:41my best version of myself,
06:43at least.
06:44Is there anything
06:44that you guys have to do
06:45you're like,
06:46okay,
06:46and now I feel good
06:48to go out of the world?
06:48I don't have that,
06:50but I also have kids.
06:53Like,
06:54you don't get to have that.
06:55I wake up
06:58and I'm like,
07:00I got to get them
07:01to the bus stop.
07:02And I need to get them
07:03together to get,
07:06like,
07:06do you have your lunch?
07:08Do you have your,
07:09like,
07:10so that,
07:11I don't,
07:12it doesn't really
07:13cross my mind.
07:15No,
07:15it doesn't really
07:16cross my mind.
07:17Usually,
07:17like,
07:17a baseball cap.
07:19If I've got a baseball cap
07:20and I'm like,
07:21okay,
07:21because then I don't
07:22have to comb my hair,
07:23I don't have to think about it,
07:24I don't,
07:25and it's just like,
07:25put on a baseball cap
07:26and go.
07:27That is my.
07:28I feel like mine
07:29is moisturizer.
07:30I hate being ashy.
07:31You know what I mean?
07:32Like a dry lip
07:33or a dry face.
07:34That's just,
07:35so I feel like that,
07:37just give me a little something
07:38and we can go far
07:39with the little something.
07:40I'm very breath concerned.
07:41I,
07:41I,
07:41I,
07:42I have to brush my teeth.
07:43I mean,
07:44I hope,
07:44I hope you all do.
07:45Yeah,
07:45brush that tongue though.
07:46You know,
07:47some people be brushing their teeth
07:48but they don't brush that tongue.
07:51Man,
07:52do you have a water pick?
07:54Do you have a water pick?
07:55I have a water pick.
07:56I have a tongue.
07:57The water pick is the,
07:59oh,
07:59so nice.
08:00You see the white tongue?
08:01Bro.
08:03Yikes.
08:05You guys are talking my language.
08:07We like personal hygiene.
08:08That's great.
08:08I can have.
08:09Oh,
08:09oh.
08:11And then you go on yours,
08:12what was yours before?
08:13Brushing the tongue,
08:14y'all bro.
08:15He's got a,
08:16he has a tongue comb.
08:18Yeah,
08:19the tongue comb comb.
08:19Gotta get the nose hairs.
08:20Yeah.
08:21Nose hairs is bad.
08:21Sometimes the nose hairs,
08:22these are stragglers.
08:23They just,
08:23they just got one,
08:24just hanging out.
08:25Guys,
08:26wait till you get,
08:26wait till you get,
08:27wait till you get to my age
08:28and you have like a random ear hair.
08:30Ooh.
08:31That's when you got to have somebody
08:32who loves you.
08:32You got to really check in there.
08:34No,
08:34not in the ears.
08:35There's like one
08:36that just comes off of this one.
08:38I'm like,
08:39babe,
08:39check the,
08:40do I have,
08:41is the,
08:41is the hair coming out?
08:42That is love.
08:43You can't see it.
08:44Did you have your ears pierced?
08:45Did you have two?
08:45I did.
08:46I did.
08:46I had two,
08:46I had two on this side
08:48and one on this side.
08:49They still open?
08:49Seventh grade.
08:50Yep.
08:50I keep them open
08:51just in case I play a character
08:52that needs to have my ears.
08:53That's crazy.
08:54Yo,
08:54I didn't even notice that bro.
08:56Anyway,
08:56you can stare
08:57looking at his ear hair
08:58for the rest of the ladies' ears.
09:00Right.
09:00And it was lovely
09:02to see you guys.
09:03Good luck with this.
