00:08a 10-point manifesto aimed at driving development and improving the welfare of residents in
00:14the constituency ahead of the by-election.
00:18In a Facebook post on Thursday, Naim Kurniawan said the manifesto is based on a clear and
00:24measurable work plan that can be monitored and evaluated by the people, stressing that
00:29voters should assess him based on performance and results.
00:33Among his key pledges are the establishment of a Kinabatangan Strategic Development Council
00:38to plan and oversee local development, with opposition representatives included to provide
00:44checks and balances, as well as the creation of a Kinabatangan Foundation to offer educational
00:50assistance, welfare support and emergency aid.
00:54He also proposed, among others, to develop a tourism and cultural hub, introduce technical
00:59and vocational education and training programs, providing free e-tuition and regular health
01:05check-ups, setting up collection centers for marine and river produce, and improving public
01:11transportation services.
01:13The Kinabatangan parliamentary and Lamag state by-elections are scheduled for Saturday.
01:18They were called following the December 5 passing of incumbent Datuk Seribung Mokhtar Radin,
01:24the father of Naim Kurniawan.
01:27The Barisan national candidate will be up against Parti Warisans Saadi Abdul Rahman and independent
01:33candidate Goldem H. Salanga.
