00:00It's a normal day at a power plant in Hong Kong when suddenly a mysterious person hacks
00:04into their system.
00:05The cooling machine is shut down and soon the heat causes a big explosion.
00:08Hundreds of workers are killed or severely wounded and people within a 10-kilometer radius
00:12are evacuated.
00:13Meanwhile in a prison in the USA, hacker Nick is handcuffed and taken out of his cell.
00:18The cops find a hidden device among his things and discover all of the criminals on Nick's
00:21block have recently received some money in their accounts, so they think Nick did it.
00:25He immediately denies it so he's put in solitary confinement, where he exercises to keep himself
00:29busy.
00:30In China, Captain Daai explains to the government that the power plant was hacked using a remote
00:34access tool or RAD.
00:36This was possible because the plant's systems are very old and lack security.
00:40It's also revealed that the same model reactors in the USA were attacked at the same time.
00:44Daai thinks he can catch the hacker, but he needs access to the plant's computers to do
00:48the tracking.
00:49Sadly the power plant is still incredibly hot and it's impossible to enter, so Daai will
00:53have to wait for cool down.
00:54Daai asks the FBI for help and Agent Carroll has to convince her boss that working with
00:58China is a good idea.
01:00Eventually Daai gets the code from the hacker attack on the American plant, but he doesn't
01:03have the knowledge to crack it.
01:05He decides to recruit his sister Lien, who is a network engineer.
01:09That night, the mercantile trade exchange in Chicago is also targeted by the hacker and
01:12all the numbers start going up at an insane speed.
01:15The next day the FBI has a meeting to analyze the case and by looking at the code they conclude
01:19the RAD was written by two people.
01:21Daai isn't impressed by the report because it's incredibly basic and asks Carroll to get
01:24Nick to help them.
01:25Nick has a long history of robbing banks with his hacking and Carroll thinks it's an awful
01:29idea to trust him, so Daai has no choice but to share some secrets.
01:33Half of the RAD code was written by him as a gag while he was in college and the other
01:36half was written by Nick.
01:38It seems the hacker stole their code and modified it to do the attacks.
01:41If they want to catch this guy, they'll need the person who truly understands the code.
01:45An FBI agent visits Nick in prison, offering to get him out if he helps them with the case.
01:49However Nick reads the document and notices he'll only be out for a couple of weeks, so
01:53he refuses to sign it.
01:55Instead he offers a new deal, if he catches the hacker, his sentence ends.
01:59If he doesn't, then they can send him back to jail.
02:02The FBI is so desperate that they take his deal and Daai picks Nick up for a warm reunion.
02:06During their flight Daai shows Nick the modified code and Carroll scolds him, since part of the
02:10deal was that Nick could only get computer access under FBI supervision.
02:14Moments later Nick is allowed to look at the terminals of the mercantile trade exchange,
02:17which have the safest firewall.
02:19The only way to insert a virus would be in person, but only the boss has access to it
02:23with his thumbprint.
02:24Nick looks at the information in the system and discovers someone hid some code in the
02:27boss's USB drive.
02:29While thinking about potential suspects, the boss remembers a guy named Lozano who only
02:33worked there for a month and mysteriously disappeared.
02:36Later Nick and the siblings analyze the code and notice unfinished lines.
02:39They concluded the hacker needed money fast so he attacked the soy market to fill his account
02:43and now he can spend his time finishing the code.
02:45This means he's planning an even bigger attack.
02:48Meanwhile the FBI finds Lozano on the security cameras and by looking at his tattoos, they
02:52discover he's a part of a gang and faked his identity to get the job.
02:55Sending a bunch of agents to see him would look suspicious so Nick and Lean volunteer to
02:59do the talking, although Nick is given an ankle bracelet monitor to keep him from running
03:02away.
03:03The duo enters Lozano's apartment only to find him dead with a needle in his arm.
03:07Nick and Lean check Lozano's computers and find powerful devices that encrypt all his data
03:11and keep him anonymous with no IP address, which the hacker must have set up for him.
03:15There's a mysterious email asking for a meeting and Nick answers it to confirm time and place.
03:20The agent watching over Nick tries to report what happened but he has no signal, so Nick
03:23takes his phone to fix it.
03:25He uses this chance to modify the app that keeps track of his ankle monitor.
03:29In the meantime Carol and Daai ask the boss of the trade exchange market for access to
03:32all their client files.
03:33At first he refuses because it would break confidentiality, but he gives in when Carol
03:38threatens to tell the press that his market isn't safe anymore.
03:41Once they get all the files, Daai and Carol look at the list of sales until they find three large
03:45volume trades that were timed perfectly to take advantage of the hack.
03:48They're linked to bank accounts in Hong Kong.
03:50In the evening Nick and Lean go to a restaurant to wait for the hacker, but he doesn't show up.
03:54Nick notices security cameras and sneaks into the back room to check the computer.
03:58It turns out the hacker has been watching them through the cameras all along.
04:01Checking the information in the camera software Nick notices that the hacker has an IP in
04:05Ukraine and sends him a message, only to get insulted.
04:08A furious Nick returns to the main room and tells Lean they should leave, but at that moment
04:12a bunch of thugs enter the restaurant and ask them who they are.
04:15Without a word, Nick starts fighting them using any object he can grab including the furniture.
04:19He manages to bring most of the group down and when the last one comes for him with a knife,
04:23he breaks a bottle to counterattack.
04:25And easily wins the fight.
04:26Afterward Nick calls Daai to warn him that the email had been bait and now the hacker knows
04:30they're on him.
04:30Daai announces they'll travel to China in the morning to follow the bank accounts,
04:34so Nick and Lean spend the rest of the night getting naughty.
04:37The next day the group arrives at the power plant, where they're still rescuing victims
04:41of the explosion.
04:42The building is still hot so they have to wait to access the computer.
04:45Next they meet with the local police, who have tracked down the owners of the bank accounts.
04:49They seem to be three average thugs connected to a criminal known as Kasser, so they must
04:53be the hacker's front.
04:54The cops have been following them and notice no suspicious activity, but Nick checks their daily
04:58routes at the same time and discovers an address in common.
05:01Daai and Nick go to that location and find a police van doing surveillance on a Lebanese
05:05trafficker.
05:06They check the van's security footage and discover that the account owners come to this
05:09place every morning but do nothing but text.
05:11With a phone in hand, Nick searches the area until he finds a special signal and discovers
05:15a hidden transmitter in the bushes.
05:17They immediately connect it to a computer and confirm that the three account owners just
05:20need to walk by to pick up the messages from the hacker, which they can delete later to leave
05:24no evidence.
05:25Sometime later the team notices that the money in the three accounts has been moved, which
05:29means the hacker has cashed out.
05:30When Daai rushes to inform Nick, he discovers he's been doing it with his sister.
05:34The team leaves on a helicopter to go after Kasser and during the ride, Daai tells Nick to
05:38reconsider his relationship with Lean since there's a chance he may go back to jail.
05:42By the time they make it to the location, the team discovers the surveillance officers have
05:46been killed.
05:47They burst into the building and search every room, but it appears Kasser and his thugs are gone.
05:51There's a hidden passage in the floor so the team descends to continue their search.
05:55Suddenly the criminals open fire to start killing agents, who immediately shoot back.
05:59Kasser is there too and he grabs an agent to use him as a shield.
06:02He shoots a few more incoming men before stabbing his hostage in the neck.
06:06Once Kasser and his men leave the tunnel they get ready to blow it up, but the other half
06:10of the team is already waiting at the exit and they open fire.
06:12While the thugs shoot back at them, Kasser activates the explosives, which make the tunnel
06:16crumble and kill all the agents inside.
06:18Without this backup, the team at the exit is overwhelmed and more agents die during the
06:22shootout.
06:23They have no choice but to stay hidden behind some containers, which gives the criminals
06:27the opening to escape on a boat.
06:28As they sail away, Kasser is angry to notice one of his men is dying.
06:32That night Kasser picks up a special package from traffickers on a big ship before returning
06:36to the mainland.
06:37In the meantime Daai is informed that the temperature at the plant has lowered enough for them to go
06:41in without instantly dying.
06:43It's still pretty hot though, so they have to protect themselves with hazmat suits and work
06:46fast.
06:48When they enter the computer room, they can see that there are still bodies around.
06:51One of the agents collapses under the heat so Nick tells Daai to take him out while he
06:54finishes the job.
06:56He breaks an emergency cabinet to get an axe and hits the servers, only for the resulting
06:59vibrations to cause some parts of the ceiling to fall.
07:03Nick just keeps going until he opens the server and retrieves a hard drive.
07:06Then Nick and Daai carry the sick agent out together.
07:09After the emergency team lowers the drive's temperature they connect it to a computer and find fragments
07:13of the malware, but it's too corrupted to get any useful information.
07:17Nick remembers that the government got his info back after he tried to delete it when
07:20they arrested him and Karel admits they have a software called Black Widow that could do
07:23the job.
07:24She asks her boss for permission but he refuses to lend it to China or a criminal hacker.
07:28Since the software has remote login, Nick volunteers to hack into the government system to use it
07:33anyway.
07:33Karel is so desperate that she agrees and the whole team except Lean leaves the room so they
07:37can deny knowing about this if it goes wrong.
07:39Nick sends Karel's boss a fake email asking him to change his password and his malware
07:43detects the new one, allowing him to access Black Widow.
07:46The team goes to catch dinner, unaware that someone is following them and putting something
07:50under their car.
07:51By the time they come back, Nick has the hacker's IP address.
07:54It turns out his home server is in Indonesia, but Nick can't crack it because it's hosted
07:58by a company exclusive for hackers which means it's bulletproof.
08:01Their only option is to go there in person and get the actual physical drives.
08:05Karel won't get any favors after she asked for Black Widow so Daai promises to talk
08:09to his superiors to get them visas and badges that work in Indonesia.
08:12Sometime later Lean manages to get into the hosting company's accounting records and notices
08:16some payments to a software that rents satellite time.
08:19The hacker has bought high-resolution shots of the coast of Malaysia.
08:22Meanwhile the Chinese government tells Daai that the FBI has informed them about Nick hacking
08:26into confidential software and they want him back in jail.
08:29Daai tries to point out that without Nick they wouldn't have found the hacker, but his
08:32bosses don't listen.
08:33The rest of the team gets to go to Indonesia but Nick must be sent to the USA.
08:37In the morning Dwye warns Lean with a text, so she and Nick immediately sneak out.
08:42Karel gets a call from her boss to scold her for what happened and she tries to explain
08:45her hands were tied, but she still gets orders to hand Nick over.
08:48When she goes to his room, he's already gone.
08:51They realize Nick modified the agent's monitor app and quickly fix it to get his current location.
08:56Daai secretly meets with Nick to tell him that the Americans think China has Black Widow
08:59because of him, so he asks him to run and promises they'll meet later in Indonesia.
09:03Lean wants to come too but Nick thinks it's too dangerous,
09:06so they argue until she leaves them alone.
09:08While Karel and another agent try to follow the bracelet signal, Lean moves ahead and waits
09:12for Nick and Daai at the airport.
09:14Nick has a serious conversation with her until she understands she can't date a fugitive.
09:18Their conversation is interrupted when the car suddenly explodes behind them, instantly
09:22killing Daai.
09:23Kasser and his men are nearby and open fire, so Nick has to hold a grieving Lean to keep
09:27her hidden.
09:28At that moment Karel and her agent arrive to join the shootout and they manage to kill a couple
09:32of thugs, however they are quickly shot down as well.
09:34Nick and Lean use this distraction to run away and they hide inside the subway station,
09:38rushing into the train right before the enemy can catch them.
09:41Lean announces she wants revenge and Nick agrees to bring her along.
09:45Moments later Lean pays some crooks to get them fake passports and remove Nick's ankle monitor.
09:49Instead of Indonesia, they decide to go to Malaysia to search for what the hacker wants.
09:53The police are following the monitor's app to find Nick, however it's already been thrown into the ocean.
09:58By bribing the owner of a private plane, Lean and Nick manage to fly to Malaysia.
10:02They follow the coordinates from the satellite shot, but the area appears to be empty.
10:06Suddenly they notice some stairs hiding among the rocks and they climb them to find a hatch on top.
10:10They check inside to discover all the machines that keep the local dam running.
10:14The water pump model is the same as the power plants, so Nick deduces that the hacker wants
10:18to sabotage the dam to destroy the tin mines and make a fortune by buying tin options.
10:22The previous attacks had only been practiced to refine the code.
10:25Sometime later the duo makes it to Indonesia and buys a bunch of tools that they set up with their computers in their room.
10:31Next Nick gets in a car on top of a parking lot and pushes a van off the roof to make it fall on the hosting company's building,
10:36causing great damage.
10:38Soon the area is filled with cops and emergency services.
10:41While everyone is distracted by the chaos, Nick sneaks in and connects his computer to the server to download some files and codes.
10:47All this is taken back to the room, where he and Lean check the information to confirm that the hacker has a third version of the rat
10:52and is indeed targeting the dam, they also get his real account information.
10:56The next day Lean goes to the bank and tells the receptionist that she has a presentation with the manager,
11:00but she accidentally spilled coffee on her notes.
11:03He agrees to print her a new copy and connects her USB drive,
11:06which allows Nick to hack into the bank's system and transfer all of the hacker's money to his own account.
11:10Then he sends the hacker a warning message with a phone number.
11:13Eventually they get a call from Kasser, however Nick demands to talk to the hacker and hangs up.
11:17The phone rings again and this time it's Sadak, who is the real hacker and Kasser's boss.
11:22Nick pretends he wants to team up with Sadak and they agree to meet.
11:25Expecting things to get dangerous, Lean brings a bunch of stuff from the store and Nick creates some improvised protection for his body,
11:31he also hides some tools for self-defense.
11:34Nick asks Sadak to only bring Kasser, however he shows up with all his men.
11:38Lean sees it from afar and warns Nick, who calls Sadak to change locations.
11:42In the evening, they go to the local festival, but Sadak brings his men again.
11:46They hide in the crowd and push dancers away if necessary.
11:49Nick tries to surprise Kasser from behind but the man turns around and threatens him with his gun.
11:54When Kasser gets close enough to pat him, Nick moves quickly to grab his head and stab him with a screwdriver.
11:59Then Nick grabs Kasser's gun and approaches Sadak, but before he can shoot, Sadak's men open fire.
12:04The crowd panics while Nick fires back, getting hit a few times but also killing both thugs in return.
12:09Sadak has a knife and tries to attack Nick, but the blade gets stuck in his hood.
12:13A fight ensues and Nick manages to break Sadak's arm, creating an opening that allows him to repeatedly stab Sadak until he falls dead.
12:20Afterward Nick runs to reunite with Lean, who takes him back to the car.
12:24Thanks to the improvised protection Nick's wounds aren't deadly and Lean quickly patches him up.
12:28The next day the couple leaves Indonesia and starts a new life using Sadak's money.
