00:30I promise you none of these niggas is going to beat me, none of them.
00:39I'm going to make an example out of T.O., that's not anything I love.
00:50Honestly the most flawless from 123 all the way down to 114.
00:55Since then he's had his shares of victories.
01:00Shakur Stevenson has undergone significant weight gain, bulking up as he prepares to fight
01:05Teofimo Lopez at a catch weight of 140 pounds on January 31st.
01:10Fucked up, all right, sacrifices, discipline, time away from my family, how you gonna beat
01:20me?
01:21Ain't no way you can beat me that way bro.
01:25I keep saying I'm the best, because I don't want this shit more than me, I know it.
01:32I know it.
01:33I want this shit so bad, so bad.
01:38This shit easy, yeah.
01:42Easy bro.
01:43Easy.
01:44Always easy bro.
01:45You're right now.
01:46Always easy bro.
01:47This supposed to be a sprint.
01:48This ain't no sprint.
01:49No, it's your child.
01:50Let's do it.
01:51We ready.
01:52Determined in his training camp, he works tirelessly, pushing limits, perfecting skills,
01:59and building strength to dominate in the upcoming fight.
02:06Both legs, we hit it for three, we rested, we did three more.
02:09And we're trying to get that 1.0 meters per second, maximize our power.
02:13Uh, how'd you add about 120, 125, but we're gonna add some reps and lighten the weight
02:20a little bit.
02:23Terence Crawford frequently trains with Shakur Stevenson, mentoring him, sharing techniques,
02:28and sparring intensely.
02:30Pushing Stevenson to improve skills, mindset, and resilience.
02:34Providing tough sessions that teach invaluable lessons.
02:37Four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four.
02:52I almost missed that.
02:54Here it go, here it go, here it go, here it go, here it go, he's trying to run me into
03:11the wall, y'all didn't see that, he's trying, man I performed, you know that, I told y'all
03:18what I was going to do, I was going to come out here and beat his ass every game, and
03:21look, he's thinking about saying let's play again.
03:23Shakur Stevenson focuses intensely on improving his speed, refining his footwork, punches,
03:29and reactions to dominate opponents with quick, precise movements.
03:33Teofimo Lopez admits Shakur Stevenson is extremely talented at 135 pounds, but expresses doubts
03:40about his performance at 140 pounds, saying only the upcoming fight will reveal how well
03:45he adapts.
03:46This is honestly the most flawless from 123 all the way down to 114.
03:52Since then, he's had his shares of victories, I think 135 was his top tier, 140, I think
04:02we just got to wait and see, you know what I mean?
04:04And for him to even come up to do that, you know, I think he deserves his flowers for everyone
04:10else out there.
04:11You know, guys trying to go more down into the ranks of top, top five, top three, and
04:16eventually top one for pound for pound.
04:19But that ain't what you said, bro.
04:21What'd I say?
04:22I mean, I got to remind you, you said, basically, I'm good at the lower weight classes.
04:29The only way that I'm going to be good is I fight at 126 pounds against guys like any
04:34way.
04:35But once I move up, you're going to, well, I can't compete at this level at that weight
04:40class.
04:41So that's what you said.
04:43Antonio Tarver approaches this matchup with the caution of someone who understands boxing
04:47beyond records and recent performances.
04:49From his perspective, Teofimo Lopez is not a fighter who can be judged only by his last
04:54few outings.
04:55Tarver highlights that Lopez still possesses natural gifts that cannot be trained into existence.
05:00His speed, strength, and explosiveness remain intact, and those traits alone make him a threat
05:06to anyone in the division.
05:08Tarver's warning centers on the idea that danger does not disappear simply because confidence
05:13wavers.
05:14Fighters with Lopez's athletic ability only need one opening to change a fight completely.
05:19Against a technician like Shakur Stevenson, any moment of hesitation or miscalculation could
05:24become costly.
05:25They both possess?
05:27Yeah, I mean, smart money would be on the boxer, you know, Shakur Stevenson, winning the
05:33decision.
05:34But, you know, if Lopez can make this fight, you know, a lot tougher than expected, you
05:41know, and he's going to have to exchange with Shakur.
05:43You know, he's a fast fighter.
05:45We don't know who's the quickest or fastest here.
05:47You have to give the speed edge to Shakur.
05:49But if Lopez can punch with this fast guy, make him a little bit cautious and a little
05:56bit leery of what's coming back, that serves him well.
05:59But Teofimo is one of the best conditioned fighters out there.
06:02If this fight goes late, you can expect him to be pushing forward around 9, 10, and 11 if
06:09it goes late.
06:10Yeah, you know, a big question is always like the what Teo is going to show up.
06:16And like when everyone's counted out Teo, it's actually been the times where he's like
06:19upset people like against Lomachenko, against Josh Taylor, you know, fights to the level
06:24of his competition.
06:25And I've been thinking like, hey, you know, if we get the best version of Teo, like the
06:29Teo that showed up for those fights, does that Teo beat the best Shakur?
06:34It would have.
06:34I mean, I think that's the only chance he got is to really be his ultra self, you know,
06:39doing all the things that makes him Teofimo Lopez.
06:42The footwork could be one of a major advantage for him, you know, being able to get inside,
06:48you know, a lot of times he fights free, you know, you don't really have a style.
06:52He does what sometimes what it takes, and he's a gutsy fighter, you know, I mean, real
06:57gutsy.
06:57He's not going to be leery to take chances.
07:02He's a gambler in there, you know what I'm saying?
07:04So he's a live underdog, I would say, a live underdog.
07:09But if he's to win this fight, I think he has to probably stop Shakur Stevenson.
07:14Zab Judah views this fight as a pure collision of elite talent rather than a clash of hype.
07:18He sees two competitors who are equally committed to proving superiority, neither willing to
07:23give ground mentally or physically.
07:25From Judah's standpoint, this is not a fight where one man dominates through size or power
07:30alone.
07:31Instead, it is about who can impose their skill set under pressure.
07:34Both fighters are known for confidence and discipline, and that combination suggests a
07:38contest filled with tension adjustments and intensity.
07:42Judah believes the refusal of either fighter to back down is what elevates this bout into something
07:47special, turning it into a genuine examination of ability rather than a showcase.
07:52Yeah, what do you like about it?
07:55It's two, it's two, it's two dog fighters.
07:57You got two dog fighters that's coming in there to solidify themselves as the game changer.
08:03Teal's not going to lay down.
08:04Shakur is not going to lay down.
08:06It's going to be skill versus skill.
08:08Teal's a very talented, skillful fighter.
08:11Shakur is a very extremely talented, skillful fighter.
08:13And yes, we're going to see a hell of a great chess match that night.
08:20Yeah, I believe so.
08:23Now, you early, I think in your earlier predictions, you felt like Shakur will be stopping Teal?
08:29Am I right?
08:30Annihilation.
08:32Annihilation, decapitation.
08:33What you're talking about?
08:34You're going back to my comments?
08:36Yeah, yeah.
08:36I feel like Teal's a very dominant force, but I just think that the skill that she calls
08:42Stevens is going to overwhelm Teal.
08:46It's going to overwhelm.
08:47Yeah, yeah.
08:48He's never seen this type of action before yet.
08:54No disrespect.
08:56No disrespect.
08:56It's another man, you know what I'm saying?
08:58Just saying, yo.
09:00It is what it is.
09:00Looking at, you know, the stats, the resumes, we see that, you know, Teal has been at this
09:08high level for a long time.
09:10You know, when it comes to Shakur Stevenson, his amateur record speaks for itself, but at
09:16the same time, you know, not necessarily getting the notable names that people know in America.
09:22Now, people are also saying that they're kind of discrediting Shakur's resume, saying
09:27he hasn't really fought anybody.
09:28Teofimo Lopez would be that first person.
09:31Do you feel like that could be something that, I don't know, it could be a lot closer
09:36than what people think?
09:37I mean, listen, the fight is going to be a lot closer than what people think.
09:40We're just blabbing our mouth and running off what we think our professional opinion
09:44is.
09:45These are two talented, great young fighters in here, you know what I'm saying?
09:48Teal's not going to back down.
09:49Shakur's not going to back down.
09:50We're going to get an exciting 12-round fights, or however long it should last, we're going
09:56to have an exciting fight.
09:57And I'm just begging both guys to come in there and leave everything they got in that
10:03ring.
10:04Shakur Stevenson represents a problem that very few fighters have been able to solve.
10:08Rather than overwhelming opponents with aggression or high volume, he takes control in a far more
10:13subtle way.
10:14Stevenson focuses on limiting openings instead of forcing action, slowly taking away options
10:20and guiding the pace on his own terms.
10:22His defensive awareness, sharp positioning, and precise timing make every exchange difficult
10:27to access.
10:28Opponents are forced to work harder just to land cleanly, often growing impatient as rounds
10:33pass.
10:34Shakur Stevenson really might 12 vote Teofimo Lopez.
10:36People love talking about this resume that Teofimo Lopez has.
10:42Granted, it's a really good resume.
10:44He has guys like Lomachenko under his belt, Josh Taylor.
10:47But if I'm being honest, Josh Taylor played into what Teofimo Lopez wanted him to do so perfectly.
10:54Lomachenko, he lost that fight more than Teofimo won that fight, if I'm being honest.
10:59And against lower-level competition, like a Steve Claggett, like a Jermaine Ortiz, like
11:06a Cambosis, he struggled against these dudes.
11:10This approach makes Stevenson both frustrating and unpredictable inside the ring.
11:14He does not give away patterns easily, and when a rival begins to adjust, he adapts without
11:19hesitation.
11:20Against a fighter like Lopez, who thrives on rhythm, confidence, and momentum, this style
11:25is especially dangerous.
11:27Stevenson's ability to disrupt flow before it even develops threatens to neutralize
11:32Lopez's natural strengths.
11:33What separates Stevenson further is his composure.
11:36He remains calm under pressure and rarely panics when situations shift.
11:40That steadiness allows him to read opponents in real time and make small but decisive adjustments.
11:45Facing Stevenson demands patience, discipline, and emotional control, qualities that challenge
11:50even the most talented athletes.
11:52For Lopez, this matchup is not just physical, but a test of focus and restraint.
11:57People talk about a focused T.O.
11:59A focused T.O.
12:01T.O. was only unfocused for one fight his whole life, and that was George Cambosis, and that's
12:05the only fight I'll give y'all.
12:07No matter who Shakur fought, he's looked great against everybody.
12:12No matter if it's the bums that y'all say he fights, or the number one guys in the division,
12:18Shakur Stevenson has dominated everybody.
12:20Um, it's gonna be a sight to see.
12:23Shakur Stevenson on fight night is going to make fireworks happen, and I can't wait to
12:28see it.
12:28I've already gave my stance on this, but Shakur Stevenson, it's just his time, and T.O.'s
12:34just another piece of the puzzle.
12:36Lopez's career took a clear shift after the loss to George Cambosos, a moment that disrupted
12:42the momentum he once carried so confidently.
12:44Before that defeat, his performances showed sharp focus and consistent execution.
12:48Since then, results and displays inside the ring have felt uneven, with flashes of brilliance
12:54mixed with lapses in discipline.
12:56Still, inconsistency should not be mistaken for a lack of threat.
12:59Lopez remains a dangerous fighter, especially in the early stages of bouts when his energy
13:04is high, and belief fuels his offense.
13:06Can T.O.F.imo hurt Shakur with one shot?
13:10Can you hurt him clean?
13:11He hasn't been a killer, or as much of a killer at 140, and after Cambosos, he hasn't been
13:16the same, in my opinion, but he's still explosive and still dangerous in the first seven rounds,
13:21get what I'm saying, in the first eight rounds.
13:22So, I think it's a good fight.
13:24I like the fight, actually, because of that.
13:26T.O.F.imo got the explosive punch of power on his side and good athleticism, and
13:31Shakur has, you know, a superior boxer IQ, good range, good distance, so it's great.
13:37It's a good boxer versus good athlete at this point, so I like the fight.
13:42I don't say it's 50-50, I say it's 60-40 Shakur, but I like T.O.F.imo's chances in this
13:49fight, you know what I'm saying?
13:49If T.O.F.imo makes this a fight and comes out early and attacks and gets right up on
13:55Shakur, right, and attacks him and makes him fight.
13:57His greatest strength continues to be his ability to generate sudden power.
14:02Even when he appears out of rhythm or off balance, a single explosive movement can change the
14:07tone of a fight.
14:08This unpredictability forces opponents to stay alert, never fully relaxed, because control
14:13can disappear in an instant.
14:15Analysts often point out that while his dominance has wavered, his physical attributes have not
14:20faded.
14:20Speed, strength, and athleticism are still very much present.
14:24This combination creates a volatile profile where moments of brilliance exist alongside
14:28costly mistakes.
14:30Against a calm and composed fighter like Stevenson, that volatility becomes even more significant.
14:35It could lead to a defining breakthrough, if timed perfectly, or it could deepen frustration
14:40if control and patience are lost.
14:42But if Stevenson establishes distance and keeps the fight at his preferred pace, Lopez may find
14:47himself reaching, missing, and growing frustrated.
14:52De Los Santos.
14:53You will see De Los Santos Part 2, and he's just going to get on his bicycle, which we don't
14:58want to see, or he's going to have to fight.
15:00And I think Teofimo is a guy that can make Shakur fight, because he can cut off the ring well
15:05enough.
15:06You know what I'm saying?
15:07I think he can stay with him well enough where he can turn this into a fight, and it'll
15:10be exciting for him if he does.
15:12I think Shakur, like a lot of fighters, he needs this name in order to silence a lot
15:20of the naysayers, because people talk a lot of shit about Shakur, especially after the
15:24De Los Santos fight.
15:25I don't think, you know, that the Vader fight took it off of him, even though they tried to
15:29make it seem like, yeah, you know, it should be off him at this point.
15:31Tim Bradley views this matchup as a clear contrast between two very different fighting
15:35philosophies, where raw explosiveness meets calculated control.
15:39From his perspective, Teofimo Lopez thrives on sudden movements and sharp bursts of energy
15:45that allow him to create offense out of nowhere.
15:48His speed and athleticism are weapons designed to overwhelm opponents before they can settle
15:53into a rhythm.
15:54Lopez looks to impose chaos early, forcing reactions and capitalizing on hesitation with power shots
15:59that can instantly change the fight.
16:01I understand that, but it's the, the feet, the feet is what gets you in position to be
16:06able to, to, to land those shots.
16:09You know, a footwork is extremely important.
16:12When I look at both these guys and I look at Shakur's footwork, I look at Teal's footwork
16:17and what I noticed about Teal's footwork in particular is, is that in order to be able to
16:26throw the amount of power that he has, you know, there's, I've noticed with Teal, there's
16:30always a subtle, a subtle pause before he actually explodes.
16:35And Teal's a guy that, that likes to explode into, explode into contact, like to explode into
16:40his opponents, man, to land his offense, you know, um, fast, you know, twitch, twitch, twitchy
16:46type muscles, you know, uh, fibers, you know, he's, he's extremely fast.
16:50Uh, you know, some may say that, you know, they, his, you know, twitchiness kind of reminds
16:54him of like Roy Jones S type of, you know, movements, how quick he's able to close that
17:00distance on his opposition.
17:02According to Bradley, the outcome will not be decided by who throws more punches or shows
17:07more aggression.
17:08Instead, victory will belong to the fighter who dictates how and where the fight is fought,
17:13controlling the rhythm and forcing the other man to adjust.
17:16But it's the, the feet, the feet is what gets you in position to be able to, to, to land
17:22those shots.
17:23You know, a footwork is extremely important.
17:26Um, when I look at both these guys and I look at Shakur's footwork, I look at Teal's footwork
17:31and what I noticed about Teal's footwork in particular is, is that in order to be able to
17:40throw the amount of power that he has, you know, there's, I've noticed with Teal, there's
17:45always a subtle, a subtle pause before he actually explodes.
17:49And Teal's a guy that, that likes to explode into, explode into contact, like to explode
17:54into his opponents, man, to land his offense, you know, um, fast, you know, twitch, twitch,
18:00twitchy type muscles, you know, uh, fibers, you know, he's, he's extremely fast.
18:05Uh, you know, some may say that, you know, he, his, you know, twitchiness kind of reminds
18:09him of like Roy Jones S type of, you know, movements, how quick he's able to close that
18:14distance on his opposition.
18:17Um, however, he's in there with a guy that, that is a master at controlling the distance.
18:26That's a, a mat, like he's a master at literally, you know, getting in his position, right.
18:34In a position where he wants to be and taking away your position.
18:37And with doing so, he takes away your feet, you know, and that's why I think feet are
18:44going to be extremely important in this.
18:46Um, you know, if you can keep your opponent off balance, for instance, let me just give
18:52you an example.
18:52It's like Teal explodes.
18:55There's a subtlety before he explodes with his offense.
18:57And as soon as Shakur sees that, he's anticipating something to come.
19:03He knows he's going to explode in.
19:05So what does Shakur do?
19:07Teal takes a big step in, Shakur takes a big step back.
19:10In discussing the upcoming fight, Stevenson carries himself with calm assurance.
19:15He does not shy away from criticism, nor does he appear rattled by doubt.
19:19Instead, he frames the matchup as another step in his progression.
19:22His confidence stems from preparation rather than bravado.
19:25Stevenson speaks as someone comfortable with scrutiny, believing his skills will speak
19:30louder than opinions.
19:31This mental stability may prove crucial when facing a fighter as emotionally charged as
19:36Lopez.
19:36Stevenson's ability to remain composed under pressure suggests he is prepared for both
19:41the physical and psychological challenges that this fight presents.
19:47It's cool.
19:48I mean, that's their opinion.
19:50Like, you know, they could say that.
19:51But I know he never fought nobody on my level.
19:55Like, I'm a million percent sure that Teal has never seen nobody as good as me in his
20:02life.
20:04He's talking about, like, once he gets through you, then he wants Crawford, names like that.
20:09How do you think he would do against someone like Terrence at this point?
20:12I think he gets knocked out.
20:15Can't even hang with him.
20:17Yeah, he's too little.
20:18But it's too big for him.
20:19Right.
20:21As far as skills, though, do you think he's on par with the likes of Terrence?
20:25I'm not going to say he's on a Terrence Crawford level of skills, but he's very skillful.
20:31He got a lot of things with him that puts him at a high level.
20:35One thing that was interesting to me was it seemed like you were going to move on from
20:38Matchroom, but now Eddie Hearn is involved in this and this is a Matchroom event, it seems
20:42like.
20:42I know it's a ring card, too, but he's promoting it here in the United States.
20:46So what is the state of your relationship with Eddie and Matchroom at this point?
20:50Eddie's my guy.
20:51I'm actually not signed to Matchroom, but he's my guy.
20:55I'm a big fan of Eddie Hearn.
20:57Nothing but respect him, but I'm glad he's the promoter that's on his card.
21:02I'm glad to share the spotlight with his promotion company.
21:06So if he's your guy, how come you're not signed to Matchroom?
21:10I mean, it's just business.
21:12If it makes sense, then I will, you know, if it come down to it and that's what makes
21:17sense, then we'll do it.
21:18But right now, I don't think it makes sense.
21:21Okay, so are you just more of like your own man at this point?
21:23Your own entity?
21:25Yeah, I am.
21:26Okay.
21:27Do you negotiate with the ring people, with Turkey?
21:30You just do that yourself?
21:32No, me and my manager, Jay Prince.
21:37Yep.
21:37Okay.
21:38That's it for today's video.
21:39Stay tuned until next time.
